I have been in 3 times in the last couple of months and each time I've had to wait a very long time in the waiting room and then again in the examination room. A visit has typically taken 2 hours to complete from the time I arrived until I left.

They also seem to be in a perpetual state of chaos. The visit before last we saw the vet for less than 3 minutes before getting a diagnosis. The procedure they gave my dog was not the answer because I was back in today. The tech who looked at my file asked if we were going to do this same procedure. What? No, I told her that was already performed and I was back because it didn't work. But after waiting for an hour today I just walked out of the waiting room. I just don't have the time or patience for these people.

My dog was sick during off hours and i took him to the emergency center. He had xrays and was given meds to help with his GI issues. 2 days later he did not appear to be getting better, infact started having bloody diarrhea. I called my vet Pets best friend to report the issues and get an appointment. I was told that Dr. Jeffers is on vacation and has someone covering for her, who will not see any sick animal that he has not yet seen. So my question was then who is covering for her animals being she is our vet and we have not seen this other vet. They didn't have an answer. As I cried on the phone begging for some assistance @ noon, i was told the staff would have the Dr. call me back. @ 4pm i called and was told that i was misinformed and that the Dr. dont come in until 5pm but he would call right away. I called @ 6 to be told that he's just getting in and busy. He will call as soon as he can. @ 8pm I called hysterical crying begging for help for my dog that was getting more ill by the minute. I was told by staff (who put me on hold to speak to the DR.) he just saw the last animal of the day and he can not stay late, to go to the emergency center. I contacted another nearby Vet who took him in immediately and gave him wonderful care, unfortunatly my 15 month old pitbull was diagnosed with terminal GI cancer and needed to be put down. We loved him very much and were devistated. Thank you Pets Best friend for not giving a crap about my dog. I still (3 weeks later) have not recieved a call from them to see if my dog is ok! No they couldn't have done anything to save him, but it would have been nice to have know that his vet cared about him and could have kept him comfortable on IV' s and pain meds while waiting for his Diagnoses. I called today to have his records swithced over ( even though he has passed) to the Vet that helped us and cared in our time our need and the staff at Pets Best Friends didn't even ask why I was leaving? bad bussiness!

My pet Louie loves this place. He is happy going to see Dr. Jeffers. They provide the most reasonable prices around with the most top notch care. Only hospital not an emergency hospital that have 24 hours round the clock care. I have called there at 2 in the morning and spoke to Lisa the night nurse. She is wonderful and patient with a worried owner. They love the pets they treat there and the pets seem to love them as well. Dr. Jeffers is not about the dollar, she will do what is right for your pet and save you money. She is also the best vet in both Louie and my estimation that we have ever had the good fortune to visit.

No other doctor/hospital is allowed to care for my wonderful animals and haven't been for years. Dr. Jeffers and her staff are wonderful, caring, amazing people who treat your animals as if they were their own. 2 years ago she saved the life of my Baby girl by diagnosing a severe infection and operating on her. It was an extremely stressful time but these loving people got us both through it with their thoughtfulness and love. I would tell ANYONE looking for a veterinarian to NOT look any farther than Pets Best Friend. You won't be sorry. They're incredible people.

Dr. Jeffers and Dr. P. are the only people allowed near my pets (as well as my sister's)!! They really care about the animals, and are both great teachers for pet owners. They have guided me with both of my "rescue" cats, and my pets are incredibly healthy. I don't think there's a better place around, and I haven't yet found anyone as thorough and knowledgeable as them and their terrific staff!

The reason the surgeon doesnt come in til later is because he wants to make sure the animal is completely fasted. if your animal were to throw up while under anestesia and there is food or liquids in the stomach that will come up, they can breathe it back in. Now,do you want your pet to have fluids in its lungs? or choke on a piece of food during a surgery? i didnt think so. there is a reason behind every action in a vet hosp. not to mention it is absolutely insane all day long. you act like your cat is malnurished and seeing how you care so much than i see that its impossible. and there is food and water waiting for them as soon as they wake up from the anestesia. We dont starve or dehydrate these animals ma'am we are lookin out for the best interests of you and your animal(s). Please understand this.

I dropped off my Kitten/Cat at 8am to be declawed and microchipped. I made sure the Cat was NPO since 8pm the night before. It is now 7pm and the doctor just got there to do the surgury?? What was the point of dropping off at 8am? If i would have known this i would have went somewhere else. I didnt even get a phonecall to let me know ,what was going on. To me this is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I cannot wait to pick my cat up. Poor thing has been sitting in a cage for 11hrs thirsty . I was told to call back in a few hours . Am i suppose to call at midnight . They said that they ask to drop off early so that the animal is stress free by the time of the surgury? WELL sitting in a strange enviornment and in a cage with no water or food is stressfull, i guess that is what they tell everyone.

I recently had to bring my love, Abigail, to Pets Best Friend. She was a 14y/o tortoiseshell with Chronic Kidney Failure. We did everything we could but still lost her on 02/13. Both Dr's were wonderful, informative, and sensitive to my loss. I will always bring any future cat here.

Dr. Jeffers and her staff are exceptional! We moved out here in 2003 and both of my cats were diagnosed with many ailments. She took care of us! !:)

PROS: Open late and are courteous
CONS: Almost too busy all the time!
