The Frick Art and Historical center has something for everyone and makes a great place for a first date, if you are culturally minded. Begin with a tour of the house, followed by lunch or tea in the cafe in the center of the grounds. Save a few sugared walnuts for the squirrels. Then take a turn through the garages and view all the glorious old cars and carriages. Don't forget a quick run through the greenhouse. Chances are that what is in bloom was also in the vase on your table during lunch. A fitting closure is to take in the latest exhibit in the Art gallery at the rear of the grounds. Look for realistic plants and insects in the Flemish tapestries and regard with awe the religious paintings that are over 500 years old. Fans of renaissance painting can stand in reverence in front of a real Reubens portrait of a lady. The skin tones are like living flesh and the lace details and the seedpearls sewn into her clothing are breathtaking. Enjoy. Enjoy....Enjoy

From this place we can know the history of pittsburgh. How it was in early 19th century & how it modified to today's pittsburgh.Lovely & wonderful place to spend time.We went there last year for the first time with my parents and they liked it so much & they insisted to take them once more to this historical center which we did in span of 15 days.We all very very impressed.Highly recommended place to visit atleast once.

The tours here are a great way to spend your saturday. You can go on one of the guided (and inexpensive) tours and then go have a bit to eat at the cafe. The high tea they serve at the cafe is worth going itself. What a wonderful way to see history and learn about pittsburgh.

This is a beautiful way to spend a day with visiting friends and or family. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Wonderful gardens encompus the house. They offer tours that are guided by very knowledgeable tour guides. They are able to take you back to the begining of the Steel revolution that plays such an important part of the city of Pittsburgh's and the nation's history. Don't forget to go to the Cafe after your tour, the desserts are wonderful.
