.

Bon Air Elementry is a teriffic little community school . The school is nested in a safe street in the Bon Air section of the city of Pittsburgh. It houses children from kindergarden up to the fifth grade. Right now the enrollment is any where from 80 to 90 children. There is a park with a basketball court and playground across the street. There is no busing to the school , as it is designed to accomodate only the local children. They have a very active Pto group for the parents and teachers. They hold actiives after school for the children and the community. There is a annual noodle night for the community. Election board uses the school as a poll for voting. The school has meet all of its goals for acievements standards. Currently the school is on the list for closure. That is a very sad situation as this is one of the better schools within the Pittsburgh Public school district. I have lived in this are for 9 years and in that time there has been no shottings or violent crimes in our neighbor hood. It is a very safe neighborhood. They should really consider closing some of the schools in the violent crime neighborhoods as we hope that our children will not have to be bused to troublesom areas.
