I think their cheeses are quite good. But their aged meats are not. If you are looking for cheese and olives they will treat you right. Beyond that not too much.

Their are other, more ethnic italian stores out there...I am not saying it is very bad---just not world class by any means. The store on 9th street is a little better---but still only satisfactory.

I agree with the other glowing reviews. The new location has all the great cheeses, olive oils, olives, and Italian gourmet items one could ask for. You can dine there (if you have time to wait for a table), they've got some outdoor seating. Upstairs, you can order pizza and other items. The service is friendly and professional.

If you consider yourself a 'foodie' or food snob, this will be your go-to food shop/eatery in Philly in no time.

But, why does insider pages list this under Mexican restaurants? It's Italian all the way!

This is a relatively new place in Philly, but is as good as the old DiBruno Brothers located in the italian market. It is much larger than the old one, here you will find a great variety of products of the best quality. If you like good cheese, olives, olive oil, delicatteses, bread, salami's and chorizos... this is the place to go. You will be in good hands. Here you don't have to wait that long to get what you are looking for like in the old place. Two thumbs up.

PROS: Best quality of products in town. Nice place.
CONS: None

The address below is incorrect - DiBrunos' new location it is actually at 1730 Chestnut Street and it's fantastic, huge, spacious, with great selection - though you will pay for it. Completely yuppified version of the Italian Market classic, but gorgeous & very accessible to Center City business & residents. Their staff are amazingly informed on their vast assortment of imported cheeses and delicious prepared foods (from couscous to stuffed artichokes to panini with nutella & banana). They have a few cafe tables for breakfast or lunch and a swanky coffee/espresso bar at the front. A must for visitors or residents.

PROS: Selection, location, service, seating, design/decor
CONS: High prices, more yuppy that in the original

DiBruno Brothers has a new location on Sansom between 17th and 18th and it is amazing. The have the best of everything.the gelato is phenomenal. If youre looking for items that you cant find at the grocery store, DiBruno Brothers is the place to go, they have a huge selection of cheeses and other imported goods. The desserts are always a crowd pleaser and they now have prepackaged salads and sandwiches that are great for lunch.
