I had heard so many great reviews about Monk's and I went with a group of people. They somehow just FORGOT to seat us and we waited over and hour and a half and never got a table so we all had to leave. I wouldn't recommend it on that

We've been going here for years. It's gotten progressively busier, so I'm not surprised that people have had bad experiences getting seated. We try and go for lunch on weekends. That said, we like the food, my hubby esp the mussels. The beer list is excellent. We went to Belgium a few years ago and we still enjoy going to Monk's.

Must try the frites and the sauce that goes with them.

A pioneer on Philly's ever-developing beer scene, Monk's is a good spot to quash a serious thirst. Many dishes are prepared with some sort of beer; even the salad nicoise has Belgian Gueuze in the dressing. Kriek duck is basted with sour…
