Bought a hard-to-find table long distance from them. A very nice purchase, fairly priced, and they were very pleasant to work with.

This is my favorite place to buy antique furniture in the area. No one has come close to the selection and knowledge the owners have. Very friendly and easy to work with. I love that they have everything on the website so I don't have to stop in to see what they have.

Antiques on Hanover Street is a really nice antique shoppe. They carry a nice assortment of furniture, including dining room pieces, office and library pieces, bedroom furniture, and living room furniture. They also carry art, stoves, plant stands, mirrors, lamps and much more. All of their pieces are guaranteed to be antiques, just as they are marked. Many are made of really expensive wood, such as mahogany. The employees are very knowledge and are great about passing on their knowledge when helping you select a piece for your home.

Antiques On Hanover Street has been voted #1 in the area by Harrisburg Magazine - two years in a row! There is definitely a reason why. Ellen Hughes and George Thompson moved from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in 1989 to pursue their dream of opening a 'not your typical antique shop'. Collectors since childhood, they began their antique business part time at a local co-op with an emphasis on fine furniture. As their inventory and knowledge grew, they purchased a large commercial building in the historic district of Carlisle. Since 1991, they have been committed to providing the finest and largest selection of 1820s - 1920s formal furniture in southcentral Pennsylvania.

Emphasis on education is an important factor at Antiques on Hanover Street. George and Ellen believe in sharing knowledge and expertise to assist their customers in choosing that one perfect piece of furniture or refine a growing collection. They have been featured in several regional magazines and have won awards for offering unique and fine furnishings. Available 7 days a week, they encourage you to stop and visit their ever-changing inventory.
