This store is open until 3PM on Sundays as posted on the door. I arrived at the store at 2:30PM on Sunday, and the group at the store refused to change my oil. The manager stated that the store was 'closed' even thought they were finishing work on two cars. He had 3 people there and said they needed 'time to clean up".

I have been going to this location for about ten years and have seen a number of groups run the place. The service has be reasonable, but never have I been refused service during the posted working hours. This is lousy customer service; I will not be going to JIffy Lube again.

I recommend you use this service, but with these caveats.

Lets fact it, the service is convenient- right there on Township Line Road near West Chester Pike and Rt. 1. You don't need to make an appointment- and the price is not too exorbitant and the staff tries to do a good job. Sure I could change my own oil in half an hour, but who wants to during a cold winter day, or a hot and humid summer day. This place satisfies the need.

But be careful. Because of management policy, they will not inform you before hand, but they are going to take apart parts of your car they are not certified to handle I personally prefer to leave brake inspections, electrical, spark plugs, transmission, air conditioning and other inspections up to a certified mechanic. He usually looks at them during the annual inspection. If you doubt there are problems with Jiffy Lube employees working on these car parts, do a Google search and see the problems others have faced. You will not have to go far to read about examples of them damaging an entire engine by doing things they were not certified to do.

So, tell them at the very beginning not to touch anything on your car without your permission. If you do not, you will find they start to disassemble car parts in an attempt to sell you more things. When they say "would you like us to change your oil today?" you should reply, "yes, and do not touch anything on my car without my advance permission" but just change the oil and check the tire pressure and windshield washer fluid.

Second, you will no doubt hear words like "they recommend" or "the manufacturer recommends." When they say these things, ask them who "they" are and which manufacturer recommends. Ask them to see it in writing.

Third, if you had prior oil service done by someone else, take it with a grain of salt when they tell you the previous oil change service used the wrong oil.

Of course they need to sell the extra things like transmission fluid changes and steering fluid changes in order to pay the overhead and staff. But let them sell them to the next person, not you.

When you go to a regular mechanic at an annual inspection then ask him or her to examine those things. I mean, the gentleman who shines my shoes does an excellent job, but I do not ask him to tailor my clothing nor examine my eyes and prescribe glasses. This place can change your oil in a jiffy, but leave it at that and you will be happy.

It also does not hurt to watch them as they work on your car. If they start going through your glove compartment to remove filters or electrical items, or take apart the engine, stop them right away.

Follow this advice and return often for an oil change and you will be happy.
