My wife and I would ALMOST look forward to traveling to the U of P area to see doctors, just so we could return with an exceptional corned beef sandwich from Izzy and Zoes. On August 6, 2008 we followed our routine and again stopped at

Pros: I wish I could come up with something.

Cons: Don't get me started...read the review. On street parking, poor quality, no clue regarding the prior gem.

Do not order for delivery. The deliverymen are incompetent. They made me wait 30 minutes in the lobby after calling and never showed up.

Izzy & Zoes is a restaurant on {enn's campus frequented by the students. Their sandwiches are pretty good. They are set on a block that is sort of a mini mall and always have a good crowd.

Izzy and Zoe's has long been the quintessential brunch on Penn's campus. However, with local eateries popping up quickly, it now has competition. Izzy and Zoe's does a great job with Jewish basics like bagels and lox, potato pancakes, blintzes, kugel, matzo ball soup, and of course corned beef sandwiches. They have a full breakfast and lunch menu and incredible desserts. And while you're waiting, help yourself to a homemade dill pickle or two. However, you might end up full on pickles before your meal arrives. Although they make fairly straightforward dishes, it can often take 20 minutes to get your sandwich. Your best bet is to order food ahead of time.

PROS: Homestyle deli favorites, local crowd, pickles
CONS: Slow service
