Maritas Cantina is a really nice place. It was recently redone and it is really nice. They have great lunch specials and they also have great food.

Marita??s Cantina has been a part of downtown Stroudsburg for many years. They are in a newly-built complex at the same location. The remodeled restaurant is nice, but a little bland. The only redeeming quality is the use of very large, bold paintings. The whole dining area and bar are in one big room now. I preferred the previous relaxed atmosphere and layout. The booths are uncomfortable. The tables are too close to the narrow benches.

The food is expensive, and they charge you for every ??extra? possible. I ordered chicken quesadillas, which always come with sour cream in every other location I??ve eaten them. Here, it cost an extra $.80. My mom ordered the fajitas, and indicated that she wanted the guacamole, which came with it. Perhaps the waitress thought she wanted extra because she was charged almost $2 for an extra small side. She complained, and it was removed from the bill after a lecture regarding the rising cost of avocados and a warning to ??just keep that in mind for the next time.? The total bill for two adults and a child came to over $40.

My quesadillas were excellent, I have no complaints about the taste of the food. My son was able to get chicken fingers, one of the few foods he??ll eat at a restaurant. The fried ice-cream was awesome, the best part of my meal. The service was fine, although the waitress didn??t inform us that we would be charged extra for sour cream or guacamole. It??s not mentioned on the menu either, so I feel she really should have told us. All in all, it was a mediocre dining experience, and I doubt it??s likely we??ll go back when we can get the same food for less elsewhere.

I sometimes go here with my co-workers for lunch and we never have any complaints. I will say the salsa could be better seems like tomato sauce sometimes but other that that all is good!

Take the time to check out the new Marita's-recently renovated in the same location, it is a refreshing change of decor from the original pastel-saturated Marita's of old. Walking through a hallway of photographs that depict the evolution of the location as well as downtown Stroudsburg, you enter an open, well lit space that, while a little bit lacking in sound insulation, is clean and welcoming. Drinks and entrees are very reasonable, and dinner for a large man such as myself can be had for less than ten dolllars. Make no mistake, this is Tex-Mex style like many of the chains, but is nonetheless a refreshing change of pace from franchise fare.

Really bad dining experience. Our waitress had literally no idea how to wait tables. Took forever to bring our Sangria which tasted like dishwater and the fajitas were way over cooked missing some expected extras. We will never return to this dump. Nothing is as advertised!

I spent a week in Stroudsburg and was told Maritas was a good place to eat. I went there 3 times, twice for lunch and once for dinner. The first lunch was on Wednesday and I was very nicely greeted by Ryan standing behind the bar so I ate at the bar. I had a chicken burrito smothered with red sauce and it was delicious. I sat with a local named Frank, who was very nice and offered other suggestions for places to eat while I was in town. Ryan was very personable and recommended a fitness facility (Muscle) that I could use while in town. Kim the waitress sat down and ate lunch at the end of her shift. She seemed very nice as well so it made my first visit a pleasure. My second visit was for dinner on Wednesday and I had the fajitas that Ryan recommended at lunch time. The fajitas were delicious and I highly recommend them. My third visit was for Lunch on Thursday and Jenna was behind the bar. I ordered the Chicken enchiladas and they were also covered in Red sauce and were very delicious. I ordered the combo with 2 enchiladas and could not finish the rice and beans that came with it because it was too much food. I highly recommend Marita's Cantina if you are looking for a good meal and service while visiting Stroudsburg, PA.
