I Agree with CJ  4 Star Rating - Very good

I as well as Cj also go to Crosswinds Kai.Crosswinds is a great school with great instructors and class mates. There is plenty self defense that is taught at the school. And some of you are correct its not the school for those of you looking to be handed a black belt. A fake black belt is not what will save your life on the street its proper technique and efficiency.
I reccomend anyone to come try Crosswinds Kai

You are all fools  5 Star Rating - World class

I have been a proud member of Crosswinds for nearly 16 years. Shito-ryu and my instructors have been a guiding force in my life. These three obvoiusly do not know what they speak of. Sensei DiSabella, who currently runs the dojo, is a good instructor and powerful karate practicioner. The strength of our style and its ability to positively affect its practitioners comes from our traditional roots and dedication to our art. I have risen to the rank of Shodan (first black) and I can tell you that testing is requires much more than demonstration. Also, the black belt academy is commercialized martial arts.

PROS: strong in character and well educated in Karate-do
CONS: none

Traditional Karate-Do  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

A good place to learn traditional karate-do.
Not a good place to learn how to defend yourself.
Those looking for old school karate with history will not be disappointed. Those looking for more modern techques and ideas will be. This school does have a good history. It is very traditional which makes learning very slow but all martial arts are a long term investment.
Depends on what YOU want. "YOU" being the key word.
There is more to martial arts than just fighting. This school is good for children.
I have been in martial arts for almost 20 years, in several systems, I do know what I am talking about.

Okay place for Karate...  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

This is a mediocre place to study Karate. I went for my free trial class and it was pretty lousy. Their method of testing is to simply show techniques, NOTHING ELSE. Thats not much of a test if you ask me. The setup of the place is pretty unique though, with pictures everywhere. I give it three stars, for it doesnt even compare with Hazleton Black Belt Academy. :)
