Steven Singer charges EXTREMELY high prices for their overhyped junk. Somebody (YOU, the gullible consumer) has to pay for Steven Singer's expensive vanity ads on television, radio, billboards, and in newspapers. Steven Singer's salespeople, who work on lucrative commissions of up to 40% of the selling prices, pry you with alcohol, phony praise, and scantily clad women in order to coerce you into paying double to quintuple (!) what certain competitors charge. Notice that almost ALL of Steven Singer's five star reviews have identical grammatical patterns, were written in groups at about the same times, and heap the same faux praise. Those facts suggest that one person (the owner?) wrote most if not all of the rave reviews. This is a genuine review from a former jewelry salesman (and current precious metals dealer) who tried to buy an unusual jewelry piece that was only available locally from Steven Singer. I was hoping to negotiate a markup of "only" 35% since I am a dealer, but was flabbergasted that old Steven required a 300% markup - even to me, a dealer with credentials. I ended up purchasing the piece from an auction for even less than I could have wholesaled it for! The amount paid was over FOUR TIMES LESS than Steven's Singer's "discounted" price to me. If you have money to burn and do not mind paying Steven Singer's gargantuan markups, by all means shop there. Otherwise, shop around for the best deal and do not succumb to high pressure sales tactics. Remember, most jewelry salespeople (especially Steven Singer's) are actually trained to fiddle with your subconscious mind and trick you into buying from them. Always ask for a dealer discount. If you buy and sell jewelry, you really are a dealer so you are not lying about being a dealer!

I am so surprised how many people did not enjoy their experience at Steven Singer. My boyfriend and I went to look at engagement rings, not to buy just to have some sort of idea of the styles that we liked. The salesperson Tom did not push us or rush us at all. He spent a lot of time explaining the 4 c's and showed me exactly what I asked for. I had asked to see solitare rings. He stayed within the range my boyfriend told him and only showed us what we could afford. The following weekend we went to other stores to ring shop and we hated the customer service at every other store we ever went to. Every other place made us wish we were back at Steven Singer so back we went. This time I wanted to look at different styles of rings and Tom joked with us about why we were still looking when we found the perfect ring already. In the end I found the ring of my dreams. My boyfriend and I spent all night talking about how perfect it was. I can't wait to get that ring. I love Steven Singer!!

I purchased my engagement ring and wedding bands in October 2010. Not even 12 hours after I picked up the engagement ring, I noticed a diamond missing. This continued to happen for several months of unnecessary trips to and from the city to have the ring fixed because diamonds were constantly falling out. I even went as far as taking it to another jeweler after picking the ring up the prior week to find that I had another loose stone and a chipped diamond. When I questioned the warranty, the were very vague and could never produce one in writing.

My "custom" white gold diamond bands did not match the color of the white gold in the engagement setting. They re-dipped all the rings but they never matched.

Finally after nothing but problems, they gave us a full refund for the rings in July 2011. Cher, the manager, told us to consider giving them a second chance and start over. So 6 months later we went in with a picture of a new setting to try to have them make it for us. After sitting there and discussing settings and price for over and hour and a half the jeweler came back and basically told us they didn't want our business because we weren't "happy" the first time around so they didn't feel they could make us "happy". Of course I wasn't happy the first time around..... the rings we paid thousands of dollars for were constantly breaking and for no apparent reason. Steven Singer's customer service and quality of jewelry is sh*t. The staff are all a bunch of liars, especially Deana and Don who constantly cover for each other.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. IF YOU BUY FROM THIS STORE, DONT EXPECT ANYTHING BUT PROBLEMS.

Best Experience!! I went to several jewlrey stores to look for an engagment ring for my girlfried(who can be very picky)...other sales people got very frustrated with her. Deana did just the opposite even though I told her that I didnt want to buy that day. She was very genuine and sincere and gave my girlfriend and I, very good advice, and a great education on diamonds. What impresed me the most was the fact that Deana follwed up with me for a period of two months via emails & phone calls..sounding more like a friend than a "pushy sales person". In the end I decided to buy from Steven Singer Jewlers, although they were not the cheapest, I trusted Deana the most and we will definitely be back for wedding bands.

I was in the market for an engagement ring, and Steven Singer was my first stop. They were very pushy and they were very rude. They had a lot of people there, so I guess if you dont but on the spot they want to slam dunk you or get you out. I continued to shop and purchased from a nicer store on Samson street. I know why the slogan is I hate Steven Singer!

I went into Steven Singer to buy a set of Diamond Stud earrings for my girlfriend for Christmas. I had searched online and gone to a couple other stores to compare prices and size but did not find anything that was as appealing as the 3 prong studs at Steven Singer. The atmosphere was different then what I am used to but if I was going to buy online anyway I figured it would be a good idea to see what I was buying first. I bought a set of 1 tcw studs and they are really nice. I would reccomend this place to any of my friends especially if you already know what you are looking for. I can understand why some people would see the beers and noise as a distraction but it does create an energetic and fun atmosphere that they have obviously built their business around. I like the fact that it is unique, its definitely not for someone who is shy or nervous when walking into a jeweler, it does seem like it could be intimidating but I will definitley buy from them again

I'm kind of concerned about the below reviews. My boyfriend and I went to Steven Singer last week to look at engagement rings and I surprisingly had the complete opposite experience. I actually liked it there the best b/c they were the friendliest, most welcoming, and caring of all of the other jewelers I went to (even in KOP). I honestly mean that too. No other store treated us as well. They offered us refreshments, sat us down, heard what I wanted, and basically told me that they could make my ring 100% to my liking. I have nothing negative to say about my experience and hope that more people have had one like mine.

Now I know why they advertise as I Hate Steven Singer because this is exactly how I feel!! My fiance and I went to the store two weeks ago to check out wedding bands. We had no intention of purchasing only there to look, gauge costs and see what we liked. Our wedding is 7 months away we are in no hurry. From the second the jeweler came over to talk to us we were treated rudely. He was a bully and talked down to us the entire time. He asked where we got my engagment ring and when my fiance said it was a family jeweler and the jeweler immediately questioned why we were even at Steven Singer. I can say now I will never be there again. I guess he really didn't even want to try to get the business. I can't believe anyone would treat a customer like that whether they know they are going to buy something or not. You should like your job enough and have enough jewelry knowledge to want to share it with amateurs like myself and fiance when just starting to look at bands. I will never be back to Steven Singer and would advise anyone looking for jewelry to go anywhere on jewelers row besides here.

My husband to be and I were looking for an engagement ring this past weekend, and he said that he heard of Steven Singer Jewelers from the radio, so that was our first stop. I could not believe we were in a jewelry store. The most tasteless display of salespeople and jewelry I have ever seen. What in the world are people thinking shopping there? We both felt the same way. There were several stores that we were quite comfortable with, so we will be making our purchase with one of them.

I have to say that I am very surprised to see all the negativity on this page. My experience there was great, and I am definitley not someone who enjoys shopping for jewlery. They have a great selection, and unlike most places stick very close to your price range. The sales rep I dealt wtih went out of her way to find me the best ring for my specifications and budget. Plus I like how they will let you build a ring by selecting the band and diamond. And I've seen alot of the negative reviews call the sales reps "high pressure," which I highly disagree with. The staff are very proactive in trying to find a piece that you like, and sell it to you, but they don't try to force anything down your throat or try coax you into spending more than you want to. Plus they I never thought I would actually sit and pick out a ring while drinking a beer and eating cookies. I also liked how the sales staff was younger and could relate much better with the younger clientel. But if you look at jeweler's row its obvious to see that this store has the most customers, as most other stores had like 1 or 2 people in them. Would definitley recommend checking them out.

I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM ANYONE ELSE!!! and I tell all my friends the exact same thing. I recently purchased my now fiance a engagement ring from Steven Singers. My girlfriend didnt trust me to pick out the diamond myself so we went to go look at some rings in Cherry Hill such as Morton & Rudolph and then we headed to jewelers row. We stopped at some big and small name places including Robbins diamonds which I was very disappointed in. The last stop was Steven Singers and that was because they were 100 times better than the rest. When we walked in Bob the salesman offered us freshly baked cookies, which I couldnt stop eating, and ice cold beverages. The best thing though was the way that the sales people teach you about diamonds because even though Steven Singers was probably my 10th stop I still knew nothing. The diagram they go over with you explains clarity, size, and quality was very helpful. Like night and day helpful, every other jewelry store salesman talked so fast and didnt really help me at all. I didnt feel pressured at all and the salesman didnt bring out or try to sell me a bunch of stuff over my budget. I AM NOT THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT NORMALLY RIGHTS REVIEWS but I was so happy with Steven Singers I felt I should. THANKS AGAIN BOB.

I have been reading a lot of these reviews, and in a lot of ways I can understand the negative reaction to Steven Singer Jewelers. However, the store??s atmosphere is built a certain way, and if you don??t like it, then it is your absolute right to go to another retailer. But because the store is so different does not mean that it??s a bad store overall. It??s just not meant for everybody. Steven Singer Jewelers is meant for people that are little thicker skinned than average. For people that like a slightly campy atmosphere. And for people that can take a joke and roll with the punches. I, for one, enjoyed my experience there. I initially heard about Steven Singer Jewelers through The Howard Stern Show. Now wait a minute ?? if I heard about it through the Howard Stern Show, then that may have a clue to Steven Singer??s style. And no, that does not mean it is offensive. It just may not be for everyone. So if you vote conservatively and live a conservative lifestyle, then definitely go to a more conservative store. Buy if you like fun, then give Steven Singer a try. I am glad that I did.

To the women whose engagement ring lost a diamond ?? that??s not always a sign that the merchandise is lower quality or defective. Hands come in contact with hundreds of items and surfaces during the day. If it was a smaller diamond set by smaller prongs, then you may have bent it or loosened it without actually realizing what had happened. I really would be interested in the ring??s metal as well. Gold is not as strong as platinum. I agree that a new piece of jewelry should not lose a diamond right away. But my bet is there may be more to the story than being sold a ??bad ring.?

And as far as being sold a diamond with inclusions. Well, what did the certificate that came with the diamond say? It??s always best to as for a certified diamond that comes with a certificate that will map the inclusions or markings. Every consumer should be well versed in not only a diamond??s four C??s but the metals commonly used for wedding bands, engagement rings and jewelry in general before they set foot in the store. Always have questions to ask, and maybe even know the answers to those same questions. An educated consumer knows what to look for, and how to purchase the best merchandise that fits their budget.

In any case, I had fun at Steven Singer Jewelers. And I did have a drink there as well. One beer or wine won??t get me drunk so that I can??t drive or will suddenly be talked into merchandise that I don??t want or can??t afford. Sales people in general will live by the ??ABC? model ?? always be closing. Just saying ??no thanks, that??s not what I want? or even ??I can??t afford that right now? will stop any aggressive sales person or telemarketer in their tracks.

I have been in several jewelry stores on Jewelers Row and figured I would give them a shot. I am in search of an engagement ring and the majority of these reviews are correct. I would put money on it that the salespeople have the same skit for every customer that comes in. They seemed extremely concerned and once you say I am not interested in putting down a deposit today the shadiness begins. You will hear phrases like "why not, she will really love it", "This is the best deal around" "we will not have this same diamond if you come back in a month." The best part is when they say, "we do not get paid commision Steven pays us a very good salary to work here" Ok, my question is if thats the case why all the instense used car salesperson sales techniques and pushy sales tactics? Bottom line is I didn't feel comfortable with the sleezy sales tactics from the moment I sat down. I was warned by other friends and didn't listen. Now I know!

My husband and i have been married for 10 years and EVERY piece of jewelry I own has come from Steven Singer. He is picky, and I am worse. He has purchased rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings there. Some were display pieces, but most were designs he came up with. We have only had one problem...we got pearls from Disneyworld and wanted them on a charm bracelet, one pearl (there are 4 total) refused to stay on the post. they have fixed it twice, but now I just wear it on special occasions...I LOVE STEVEN SINGER!!!P.S. We are expecting twins in 2010, so I'm sure he'll go there for a new Mother's Ring to add or redesign. Can't wait!!!

My husband got my engagement ring from Steven Singers Jewelry. After 1 month, one of the diamonds in the setting fell out!!!! Can you imagine the poor quality and poor craftsmanship that something that is supposed to last a lifetime fell out after a month!!?? And yes this was a custom made setting made by Steven Singer Jewelers! So he took it back, they did not give a refund, just a credit. I told him no way to buy another setting from them. So he applied it to a bigger diamond with the plan of getting the setting somewhere else. The diamond they sold him is terrible!! Huge inclusions visible to the naked eye. And they told him it was a prefect, ideal cut, F color, etc, but forgot to mention how horrible the clarity is. Beware and stay away, unless you want to waste your money on poor quality diamonds and poor quality craftsmanship!!!

My husband and I purchased all of our wedding jewelry at Steven Singer ? My husband had purchased my engagement ring there and because of how happy he was with the superb service and kindness of everyone; we went back for our wedding bands. The groom??s wedding band came in and was too big so we returned for a smaller size, and when that came back in that was still too big, but we decided to keep it because we were very close to the ??Big Day?. Well on the day of our wedding during the middle of the reception he realizes that his wedding band is no longer on his finger. We looked everywhere but could not find his ring. When we got back from our honeymoon we called Steven Singer to see if there was anything we could do. When the engagement ring was purchased we went with Jewelers Mutual (referred to us by Steven Singer) for the insurance for our jewelry. Because of the chaos with the wedding I had forgotten to have the wedding bands added onto the policy. If it were not for Cher at Steven Singer, who knows how this whole situation would have turned out. She helped with everything, even though it wasn??t something that she should have taken care of. She went over and above to make this a good experience for us. She talked to Jewelers Mutual for us and let them know we were there and gave them everything they needed. She wrote letters to them and followed up an even faxed our paperwork to JM to get our jewelry scheduled on the policy. My hubby now how his ring back and is so very happy! Everyone should go here for all their jewelry needs!! Thank you Cher for all your hard work & dedication!!! Steven Singer Jewelers is #1!!!! With Much Thanks!!

After reading over some of these reviews, I am quite shocked at the negativity! My husband and I have been married for almost 2 years. He picked out the most gorgeous engagement ring and wedding band that I still admire every day. He said that the customer service that day was fantastic!! He also stayed in the price range he wanted to be in. In addition, he was very satisfied with all of the information that was given to him about our rings. We have been back a few times to have rings adjusted and cleaned. Each and every time we have excellent customer service!!! Not to mention, Lanny always stops by to say hi and see how things are going! In addition, our rings have been adjusted and fixed in timely manners! I have recommended Steven Singer to all of my friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Steven Singer to anyone else. Class Act!

I'm really shocked at the reviews that had bad experiences. On the contrary, I'd have to say my fiance and I had an amazing experience. After shopping the block not knowing much about diamonds, the sales person at steven singer was very nice to us and spent as much time as i needed even though we had a small budget. While other places like robbins brushed us off, and another store tried selling us a stone that was lower quality than what he was telling me it was, it was nice to know that honest jewelers do exist. The sales person was able to find me a selection of rings that were exactly what i was looking for, compared to a few stores on the block that tried selling me 80's garbage just because it was cheap. I didnt feel like a number, i felt like a person which mattered the most. I'd highly recommend steven singer's. the place was so packed the first day we went (it was a saturday) while most places were dead, they obviously are doing something right. I'd recommend going during the weekdays if you want to avoid the crowd.

Business Response:

Thank you! Thanks so much for taking the time to thank us! It is rare to be thanked for doing a good job, and it is so appreciated. Our goal is that every customer experiences the same service as you did upon entering our store, and going above and beyond is our standard. Thanks! Congratulations on the engagement, and hope to see you again soon.
.

First the good; free parking, coke and a cookie. The salesman was patient and very good at explaining what to look for in a diamond. But once I found a setting and stone I liked, I really felt pressured to put a 10% deposit on a stone and setting. It was full court pressure time, and though it was one for the first places I stopped, I was convinced the ring was just what she would love so I did. I won??t go it specifics of the tactics, because I did love the ring, but I have felt less pressure buying a used car.
That week I found out I will need to shell out for braces for 2 of my teens. I needed to cancel the ring; I was told I needed come in rather than just refunding it right back to the card. Because of the store??s early closing I needed to take a half day off from work just to make it down, which wasn??t for several weeks. The salesman even emailed me a reminder.
Then when I get there, I ask to see some pendants, feeling I should get at least something to make up for my time spent there and my girlfriend has a birthday upcoming. I decided on one that would have been a little more than half the deposit. I figure I could put the other half back towards paying for the braces.
I was told I could only get the remainder in store credit not a refund. So I said I would just take the whole refund then. To which I was told there would be a 15% restock fee, so I acquiesced figuring getting 85% of my refund was better than nothing, then the manager came over to inform me the 15% is on the total price, so if I wanted to ??return? it I would still owe the other 5%. Explain that to me so it makes sense.
She explained that they have been holding the stone for 6 weeks, to which I countered, I told the original sales person less than a week after I put the deposit I wouldn??t be getting the ring. I would have thought that would have been sufficient.
To quote the very receipt I was given, ??We off all of our guests a 30 day full money back guarantee? and ??While our goal is to never charge any fees to our guests, any item that has been altered, damaged, or customized maybe subjected to a small fee to return the merchandise to the original condition. This fee will not exceed 15%.?
I had given notice that I would not be making the purchase well within the 30 days, though I was physically unable to make to the store before the 30 day window closed. I would have been charged a 15% on the total cost restocking fee for a piece that I never had in my possession, therefore could not have subjected it to ??alter, damage or customize? it.
Completely disgusted and frustrated I told the manager I would just take the store credit, but I never want to buy anything there again (I am even sorry I got one of the dipped roses for Valentine??s). The kicker is the ??store credit? is on a piece of register tape that is most likely to be lost or ruined rather than on say a gift card or gift certificate that would stand a chance of survival. I should list it on Craig??s list to try to recoup my money to put towards the braces.
When I do get back to ring shopping, you bet Steven Singer??s will not be on my list of stores to visit. Nor should it be on yours, if they don??t live up to guarantee the print on their receipts I would hate to see what kind of trouble there would be if there was ever a problem.
I am posting this review to any site that I find that accepts reviews for Steven Singer and the only reason I am not posting it on Facebook or MySpace is I don??t want to ruin the engagement, so feel free to pass this along for me.

It's now over a month after my engagement and I STILL do not have the ring. This was after the "salesperson" assured my fianc "if I didn't like it just bring it back and we'll switch out the setting".
Guess what? That??s not possible. They have to BUILD a whole other ring. After 3 weeks it finally comes in she emails me (which I never got). No call, no follow up call. NOTHING for a week; until I emailed HER to check on the status. Her response "the new ring is here". No urgency, so concern, nothing??again. My engagement has quickly become the worst experience of my life because of her miscommunication, misinformation, and inability to have any understanding of any words that come out of my mouth. I can almost guarantee that ??my ring? will not be correct. Do you blame me Steven Singer?
And please do not respond to this with a request for me to email you at info@stevenstinger.com. I have no desire to do that since I??ve already been dealing with ??customer service? and they assured me they would contact me every step of the way to make me aware of the whole process when for the last 3 weeks NOT ONE PERSON HAS CONTACTED ME PERSONALLY. I really do hate Steven Singer.

went into there store after visiting two others, first one i liked the designs but when i told them i wasn't interested in a diamond band, i got a ohhhh, i see answer. that p....d me off.

went to the second jeweler, mw, a long established company had beautiful items and designs, when i told them i didn't want a diamond band, the hummmmpf, then after that a quick brush off and here is a card to you can take with you, didn't even hand me a card.

we both were kind off burnt out, having been at the home show which was terrible and 45 minutes at the previous stores, then took a flyer at steven singer. we are in our late fifties and it was a more modern, less stuffy approach, newer music that we didn't care for too much but appreciated the offer of a homemade cookie and water etc.

the young woman did a nice job of telling us about the rings, didn't give me attitude like the other two well know stores when i told her a diamond was not in the program.

we ended up after 45 minutes liking a style, remarkably, and then had some dinner. we both spoke at dinner how much we liked the "experience" at the S.Singer store.

the jewelry designer introduced himself to us and told us that he could make anything we want, if we didn't like , he would resize it or re-do.

i liked dealing with the store, i give the salesperson credit for trying for a soft close but it was not pushy.

we haven't made up our minds yet as we have about 8 months before the wedding.

if you are little older like myself, get passed the music and the age of the representatives

. i believe they manufacturer beautiful jewelry and they will stand behind their work with excellent after sale service .

Horrible pushy sales reps

Used car salesman attitude

cheap jewlery

This place is a joke, please do not do business with Steven Singer Jewlery.

there are plenty of jewlery stores along jewelers row that can assist you ten times better than Steven Singer while offering a wide selection

the only thing Steven Singer does well, is they do a good job of advertising their horrible business model.

dont be fooled, you deserve a better experience, amd treated with more respect.

don't buy into the hype!!!!

Business Response:

I apologize I sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your time at our store. I encourage you to email me at info@stevensingerjewelers.com and fill me in on some specific details. This is not the experience our customers normally enjoy. I would like to determine the people and forces involved in disrupting the spirit of Steven Singer Jewelers, and correct the problem immediately. I need to know who is approaching our valued guests as a "used car salesman", and who is being pushy. This is not the way we do business, nor is it the way we want any guest to feel when they enter our store. I assure you it is not "hype". Steven was the first and only jeweler to be awarded the Small Business Person of the Year by the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce because of his excellence. He is hands on and an important part in the daily dealings of the business, and this experience you have portrayed to us is inexcusable. I do apologize for this horrible experience, and assure you we will identify and correct the problem.
.

They pride themselves on excellent customer service, but what you get it is a bunch of young proffesionals using "used car salesman" tatics. They will say just about anything to win your business. Even lie. I have been buying jewlery for my wife for many years and this place is by far the worst I have experienced in a while.

If you are thinking about shopping at Steven Singer, take a small test, and you will see what I see. The moment you walk in the door, everyone will be eyeing you up, and looking at you as a sale and not a customer. These Steven Singer employees will have the same look in their eye, as if they have not sold a piece of jewlery in a week, and they need your sale, to keep their job or something. They are completely transparent. they will try and distract you with food, drinks, etc. Try and stay focused because you are their to buy a pieces of jewlery, so dont buy in to their markeing efforts and one liners.

I prefer, Robbins diamonds across the street, but they can be a bit more "pricey" when dealing with jewlery other than engagement rings. it seems to be that they have higher quality pieces then Steven Singer. but this is all my opinion though.

good companies do not boost about customer service, Steven Singer has to bosst about it, because its not good, they want to trick you and decieve you so you come into the store. In my opinion that is why their main radio ads are always about Customer service and how relaxed you will be shopping their.

We had gone to another jeweler nearby Steven Singer to buy an anniversary ring. The customer service was only okay and we did return the ring, because I was not happy with the way it looked. We went over to Steven Singer and the customer service was just remarkable. Lanny was able to find a beautifull anniversary ring and have it sized in just under two hours! I would highly recommend Steven Singer, wonderful customer service experience!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a specific designer engagement ring that I had to have. Well, walking into Steven Singer Jewelers was a waste of time! The salesperson kept giving us a song and dance about how they manufacture rings for the other jewelers, and never got around to saying " We don't have it " I never saw any designer jewelry, after 45 minutes my head was spinning. I was so disgusted by that place I felt like I needed a shower. We walked across the street to Robbins, and in 2 minutes they show me the ring that I wanted! It was such a difference in atmosphere and professionalism. I got my ring and I love it. Bottom line, if you want a mall ring, go to the mall and you'll get out faster. If you want nice designer jewelry, don't even waste your time going to Steven Singer.

Business Response:

Our apologies Marsha, I do apologize for the "song and dance" you received when visiting our store. The simple answer would have been, no, we do not sell designer mountings. We manufacture, design and create our own mountings. For customers who cannot afford a designer brand name engagement ring, don't feel the need to pay for the name brand stamp on the inside, or want to put more money into their diamond then a designer name brand, we create mountings that are near identical to the designer styles at a 1/3 of the price. However, for those customers who want the designer name bands, we understand that we are not authorized dealers and cannot service them to the fullest. I'm happy to hear you found your dream ring. It is something that you will wear forever, so you deserve exactly what you want. Congratulations on your engagement!

I recently purchased an engagement ring and had a wonderful shopping experience. Shanna helped me pick out the perfect ring. I came in having an idea of what I wanted, she was able to show me a few options. When I didn't find exactly what I wanted she was kind enough to arrange another meeting the following week where she brought in exactly what I was looking for. The ring is gorgeous, I ended up staying within my budget and she even went the extra mile to ensure that I got my diamond a week earlier than expected...during a Phillies parade and everything!! Great customer service great follow up after the sale and great product. Go in and ask for Shanna.

Steven Singer Jewelers will make sure Shanna is aware of your praise! It's rare in todays world for a customer to go out of their way to thank a company, and we greatly appreciate it. Great customer service is our standard, not our goal. Excellence is a must! Enjoy the engagement! Thanks again,Steven Singer Jewelers

I went to Jeweler's Row on a Sunday to look for an engagement ring. Since a lot of stores were closed I only went into this one because they were open-certainly NOT because I heard anything good about them and I was right. I felt like I walked into a CIRCUS. It was so loud in there I couldn't hear myself think. Sales person did not even introduce themselves to us. My boyfriend told sales what price range we were looking. She began showing us settings and stones and we were there for over 45 minutes looking at rings before she even gave us a price $1,000 OVER our budget. On top of that they showed me white gold; I wanted yellow gold and told me they would have to order it. Sales asked some clown that worked there when they would get the yellow gold in and he started pressure us to make a sale. The sales lady that was helping us disappeared without saying a word. The clown wanted to know what could make us a customer tonight. I told him nothing would. First, I told him you don't even have it in stock, Second, it is way over our budget, and Third don't pressure me. So what does this clown continue doing, PRESSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE. He said he could bring the price down-I thought I was buying an engagement ring-not a used car. And to top this off-talk about shady, I was told if you have your ring shipped out of the state of PA, say to a friend or relative in NJ - you save Sales Tax. I'm sure the government of PA would love to here that. Why would I want to ship MY engagement ring to someone else?
I walked out and you shouldn??t even walk in. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. What a joke this place is.

Business Response:

Our apologies I am sorry you were not happy with your experience. Yes, we are one of the few jewelers open 7 days a week for convenience to our guests. It can be loud in our store due to the enormous amount of guests we have. We are expanding to have private buying offices for customers who prefer a more private setting. Our salespeople are nationally known for their great service, and 101 is making sure you are comfortable with the jeweler waiting on you. I apologize that you were not. White gold is nationally dominant in the bridal industry. We have the largest selection of engagement rings, and specialize in custom rings. Any engagement ring we have in stock, we can provide for you in yellow gold in a day or so. The engagement is a time of celebration, not pressure. My apologies that you felt pressured. If we ship your engagement ring to you out of PA, you are not required to pay sales tax by law. This is PA's law. Steven Singer Jewelers adheres strictly to the tax laws and regulations of the state of PA. Congratulations on your engagement, and best of luck on the search for your beautiful ring.

I should have read the reviews on this place before setting foot in the door. I went shopping for a diamond, and felt like I stumbled onto the Wildwood boardwalk. I was waiting to hear " watch the tram car please! " It is a carnival like atmosphere, cheesy salespeople telling stupid jokes, and everyone is drinking alcohol! I never saw any nice jewelry, so after trying to leave they practically tried to tackle me on my way out the door! Do yourself a favor. Read the reviews and don't bother with this place.

Thank you for your feedback Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that our atmosphere does not appeal to your tastes. Yes, we like to have a fun, party like atmosphere. We love to have our guests laugh, enjoy serving our guests a refreshing beverage of their choice, and if they feel like they are having as much fun as you do down the shore, then great! I do warn others, if you are against alcohol, or would prefer a quiet, stuffy jewelry store, go to Tiffany's or Bailey Banks and Biddle, not Steven Singer Jewelers. But if you want a fun, entertaining experience, come on down! But please, do watch the tram car. : )

My fiance used Steven Singer Jewelers for my ring. Knowing that the engagement was coming soon, I had printed out multiple pictures of rings that I would like. Of course, my favorite was a beautiful diamond ring that looked like a tulip. The petals were lined with diamonds and the center diamond sat in the center. Well, this was apparently a custom peice, that retailed for over $8,000! For the ring alone! We're in our mid 20's, so my fiance did not want to spend much more then that on the whole ring. Well, Steven Singer Jewelers not only made the ring, but made it in our budget of $8,000... including the diamond! It was an engagement ring miracle. My fiance was sooooo happy. They kept him informed every step of the way. Steven Singer's staff really knows how to make things happen, and gets you what you want for the budget you want. I honestly get turned on when I look at my ring! It's so amazing... I'll be using them for my wedding bands, thats for sure!

This place is not the place to buy an engagement. The sales people are pushy. They also use alot of sales techniques like "good cop, bad cop" and they also were manipulating my fiance into buying the ring. They were tell her how beautiful it looks on her. Buyer beware! Also, the lightning in the store is made to have everything look brighter and shiner. Be careful, your diamond might not look as bright when it leaves the store.

Our apologies... Fred, I do apologize for your poor experience at Steven Singer Jewelers. We aim for 100% satisfaction at all times, and this experience you had was completely unacceptable. If you felt pressured, or attempts at manipulation in anyway, I assure you that is not our goal. Our goal is to provide you with the best experience buying an engagement ring by offering unbiased knowledge, a huge selection, competitive pricing, and tons of value. Every customer enjoys a lifetime of free cleanings, inspections, and appraisals. As far as the lighting goes, I assure you we use the same lighting that any showroom or backyard flood lighting does. We in no way enhance the lighting in the store. The bulbs used are standard Par 38, Par 50, and 90 Watt Halogen bulbs. Feel free to ask to see the bulbs when visiting! Steven Singer Jewelers wants to be our guests lifetime jeweler, not sell them one diamond, therefore we would never misrepresent the product. Please contact us if there is anything further we can do, or if I can have a different jeweler assist you with your purchase.

Very knowledgeable, no tricks, large selection. My sales person was a huge help in picking out the perfect ring for my now fiance, which is not an easy thing to do. She hit the nail on the head though with the perfect ring. Also educated me on different shapes of diamonds that I've never even heard of. I actually picked something called an asher... beautiful stone, if you haven't seen one you should really go check them out. Perfect experience... there warranty and guarantee is unbelievable as well.

I would not recommend that anyone go here to buy an engagement ring. It felt like I was in a car dealership. When I didn't buy from the first salesman he got someone else to come in and give it a shot. They put pressure on you to buy it on the spot. Horrible experience!

I completely disagree with people! Who's offended when offered a beverage? It was great... I had an ice cold bear, and my girlfriend opted for the wine. The wine was actually so good... we asked what kind it was... I'm not going to let there secret out though, you'll have to go see for yourself! We saw items right in our budget, and felt comfortable doing it. Heard a few jokes to from our salesperson. They were packed... but never once was the attention taken away from us. They also let us have plenty of alone time to discuss the items we were looking at without the salesperson sitting right infront. The first time I went, we left without purchasing, however, they still paid for our parking! They did introduce us to another salesperson, but it was quick and we didn't feel pressure. I recommend it for anyone looking for highquality diamonds, without a stuffy old man waiting on them. They are young, fun, and dedicated to the customers experience! I HATE STEVEN SINGER! And Preston and Steve Rock...

I can't believe this place! Last Week-End I was shopping around for a diamond ring with my girlfriend, and this was the very first shop we came across. We entered and wow! Is this a nightclub or a jewelery store? Packed, loud music, very vulgar and low-class salespeople. First thing I know, one of them comes at me and proposes an alcoholic drink! Beer or Champagne... Are they trying to get me drunk for an easy sell? My girlfriend picks their "Champagne", I pick water because I'm driving back. You know what the saleswoman said in return to me picking water? "YOU SUCK!". Now, I understand they might want to differentiate from their competitors by getting familiar with their prospective customers, but being called a sucker by a salesperson you met 2 minutes ago isn't really my expectation when shopping for a several thousand dollars ring. But I swallowed it anyway. Then we gave a description of what we wanted, after which the girl says she's gonna grab some samples in the back. She left me sitting there waiting for 15+ minutes! I could see the girl chatting with other people at the back end of the store all that time. At this point, I got mad and stood up ready to leave, and abracadabra, here comes a new salesperson! She told me the other one was stuck in a phone call (yeah right). The rings were of a very low quality, the gold was pure crap, and the diamonds were full of inclusions, even though their clarity rating was not supposed to show any to the naked eye. But the price was actually similar to any other place! So when she tried to switch me to a third salesperson, I thanked her and went out. After that, my girlfriend told me that she noticed one of the salesperson next to us was making ironic comments with another one, about how he "f*cking loves" his job, because he can compliment ugly girls and not even make a sale! NICE!

I cannot believe that any person with half a brain would buy from this establishment. No doubt the advertising got us in the door, but the rude and pushy salespeople were a bit too much to take. They try to shuffle you from person to person, offer you beer to get you drunk and break you down! We shopped in about 10 different stores on Jewelers Row, Steven Singer's was by far the worst! If you like taking your girl to a strip club, this is the place for you.

This place is great. The people that work there genuinely care about the customer. They go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and do not rush you. I will definitely be going back there for more jewelry. Check this place out -- you will really be amazed.

Don't bother stepping into this place. They are very gimmicky and don't care at all about what the customer wants. I dared to go to steven singer's twice and both times had the same experience with different sales representatives. I had a clear idea of what I wanted both times and just wanted to browse through their selection. First you end up being tossed around to different sales reps so you get confused about who is really helping you. Then they ask how they can help you. Before you are even halfway done talking the guy just leaves you standing there while he goes to find stuff to show you. The stuff he brings back isn't even remotely what you had been describing but he'll try to convince you it's exactly what you've been looking for. Basically they don't care about helping you find what you want. They are all about trying to sell you something you don't want for more money. When they get tired of arguing with you, they just abruptly put away the pieces you are NOT done looking at and dimiss you from the store and make you feel stupid. All in all, the customer service is atrocious, the quality/workmanship of the jewelry is low to average at best, and the prices are WAY too high. NOT WORTH IT.

I went shopping on Jeweler Row to buy my girlfriend something for her birthday. I heard all the " I Hate " adds on the radio, so I stopped in. I must have told the salesperson 10 times I was just looking, and it was my first store, and that I wanted to shop around. They were so desperate, they would not let me out of the store! Horrible experience! I did not buy there, nor will I ever go back! Hey Singer Jewelers, come up to the 21st century and lay off the crappy sales tactics!

Scared to death of "taking the plunge", I strolled along Jewelers Row peering in the empty stores with stiff salespeople staring out at me, ready to pounce! Needless to say I almost talked myself out of it! I walked Steven Singer Jewelers which was PACKED!!! I figured I could slip in and slip out undetected if need be. However, I was pleasantly said hello to by a young lady waiting for me at the door, who immediately put a beer in one hand, and a warm cookie in the other! Needless to say, I painlessly walked out with a rock, which my girlfriend loves! I certainly had a great weekend after that engagement.... Preston and Steve, you rock!

We were just there on a busy Saturday shopping for wedding bands. The sales person was so phony and didn't even listen to what we wanted. Budget was a concern but they kept showing us rings that would blow it out of the water. The crazy part was that in the end the "package price" for 2 rings was actually less than the sale sticker price of just the one. You can't make "deals" like that without having an overvalued product to begin with. It all felt very dishonest. We also found their rings to be lighter than others we tried at competitor's stores and the craftsmanship was just not top quality. This was not the first store we visited either. After that rather unpleasant interaction, we strolled right across the street and purchased at Robbin's and had a lovely experience. Singer should put more priority on the quality of the jewelry and lay off the free beer and cookies for the high-rollers. Tacky shopping experience overall.

I received a bracelet from this jeweler and it was beautiful. Every radio station you turn on in Philadelphia has a commercial for this store. The staff is friendly and honest and don't play around when pricing their jewelery. You can find anything you want there or they will design a piece for you.
