If you love your animal, do not take them to this vet. Rude uncaring staff, and uncaring vet. I agree completely with all other negative reviews. Make sure you check out the dates, things change over time, and it appears quality is significantly worse! :(

Could not agree more with negative reports. Dr. Syken comes into the room and doesn't even acknowledge the pet owner. He misdiagnosed my dog's eye problem, resulting in him losing it when he finally referred me yo a specialty hospital after 8 months of wrong treatment. The staff are great, but Dr. Syken needs to retire. So uncompassionate. Also his colleague can't diagnose either. Thankfully I found a wonderful specialty hospital that took care of my little guy!

Dr. Syken and his staff could not be less compassionate! Furthermore, he performed a procedure on my HEALTHY dog and returned to me an UNHEALTHY, NON-FUNCTIONING dog. When I told him she wasn't herself he immediatley said it wasn't from what he did and didn't bother to check her out. Days later I had her CARRIED in to the Conchester Hospital where they are doing their very best to help, but it's not looking good. He should not be in practice! If you love your pet...do them a favor and go to the Conchester Animal Hospital. They are kind, compassionate and professional. They follow up and are always there to answer questions. I have told my story to many people over the last month and have found SEVERAL pet owners who have had problems with Pennell Vet. None of them have returned - I can't believe he is still in business.

they have two vets in the practice. i took my very sick cat and had both of them at different times. each told me two completly things on how to treat him and both changed his medication numerous times and how much to give him. the cat got so sick that i ended up having to put him down, he was only 3 years old, although the night i put him down, the vet was very compastionate and the staff more so.

Stephen Syken should consider retiring. Yes, he is a fair to good surgeon, but he is not available for any kind of emergency. Even if the emergency has been caused by his surgical procedures. You are on your own to get help, he refuses any contact after office hours. He has lost most of his compassion for animals and should retire. I had a dying dog and had to beg his office to call me for advice. When he did finally call he was very bothered and arrogant. We had been using his vet services for 10 years. I do not recommend him at all.

I have been taking my animals to Pennell Vets for close to 20 years. Whether we have needed general or emergency care, Pennell Vets has guided, counseled, informed, and assisted me in every possible way. They have been truly wonderful to me and all of my pets, I can honestly say that I feel so strongly about Pennell Vets care, that I have referred all of my family, friends, and coworkers to them! Dr Syken & his staff are exceptional, and I wanted to say a special thank you to Maryanne for all of her help and support with a very big, mean, diabetic, orange cat. You are the best!

We had two pugs (Pudge and Mugzy) and Dr. Syken and his staff have been taking care of them for 15 years. Even in their later years (one was a diabetic and one had congestive heart failure) and Dr Syken treated them as if they were pups; never giving up on them because of their ages. We have several other pugs in the family and everyone uses Pennell.
I willl always use Dr Syken for our pets; I trust him with our most precious family members. Thank you Pennell.

We just recently got a new puppy & searched for a good vet, since the last vet we used was out of state. After 2 good referrals, we went to Pennell Vet Clinic. Dr. Syken was so good with our puppy & gave us a few good pointers. He gave her a thorough exam & a shot. We have to go back in 4 weeks for booster. I feel very confident in taking our newest family member here!
