The place looks okay but has a lot of teenagers hanging out in the front smoking. Over priced coffee that is weak. Server was smoking out front and did not wash hands before serving me.

We went to Steel City for the first time to hear a band play on a Saturday night. While I see that their menu and beverages are wonderful, and agree, and the atmosphere is nice, we left dismayed. At the door they charged us more than the entry fee noted on the website. When we challenged them, they told us it was too bad. Then I ordered a cafe au lait from the board at the counter and was charged $2 more than the board stated. When I pointed that out the service person said, "Well that's what it shows in the cash register system." I pursued the point and she eventually relented. So within a half hour we were charged on two items more than advertised. Left a bad taste with us. Probably won't therefore return.

The evening staff during music show's are horrible. They obviously do not enjoy their job because the way they treated my friends and I was ridiculous. Please note, Steel City is not the place to enjoy a great artist. You are better off going to see artists at a bar or social setting. There was nothing social about steel city.

We love Steel City. Their breakfast sandwiches are delish, as is most of their food. I'm not a coffee drinker but I do enjoy and occasional vanilla chai from Steel City. My kids like to dance on the stage.

HOWEVER, the last time I was there with my infant they had no high chairs for her to sit in. I just love drinking a hot beverage while trying to manage a wiggly 9 month old. How simple would it be to get one or two of those wooden high chairs that just about every other restaurant has. This alone has kept me from going back a few times since then.

Honestly, it's hard to think of anything to criticize about Steel City. Well, ok - they could serve better chai. But with such great coffee, that's not much of an issue. The folks are really nice, the music is incredible, the atmosphere is wonderful. They are very tolerant of kids, which is helpful. Their food selection is simple but very good.

Great little coffee house. I couldn't comment about the coffee since I don't drink it. I have been gotten several different baked goods and they are amazing. The chocolate cake was so incredibly good. They have a good array of entertainment. The only bad things are that it is on the small and if you go on a Friday night parking can be a little tough.

This is truly the shining star in Phoenixville's growing entertainment scene! The chai lattes are exquisite (if not a little pricey, but what a treat!), and the array of entertainment nightly is top notch! Open mic night is a hit, and the management here works to get wonderful talent to appear on a weekly basis. Don't miss it!

PROS: Excellent drinks, great entertainment
CONS: none

We have precious few options in Phoenixville for dining or even a coffee shop. My frudtration for this place- is this. They have live music often. Ok- I like live music- many people do- but if you want to sit down & get a cup of coffee- you cant unless you pay a cover charge to hear a band you might not be into. I stopped going because of this. I;d love to stroll in there on a lazy sunday or saturday afternoon & chill with a cup of chai - but wont pay an extra 7-10 bucks for the pleasure of sitting down. Its like this during the week as well, which is a real shame - bc its a really nice place- great service, decor, etc. But you cant just go in for coffee. And I think thats their primary business...
