Far too many red flags and no green flags found. I'll try to put as many as I can think of right now. We went for dinner and our experience was rather unpleasant.
1. Mediocre food taste.
2. High prices. Their prices are comparable and in cases even more than some high class Indian restaurants in the downtown Phili area.
3. Rude waiters. The waiter started arguing over a practice that other restaurants usually have and they don't stating that he hasn't seen any restaurants practicing it anywhere else! Next point is the practice I mentioned to him.
4. They serve only 1 small bowl of rice per table compared to 1 bowl of rice served with every entree at many other places.
5. Unusual practice of charging 18% gratuity on 4 people rather than 6 people normally seen in other places.
6. They don't serve the pappadums, chutneys, pickle or even onions as complimentary which even the least expensive restaurants in the area do.

Fine dining?? Well hello...!!
Its time to wake up and take your business to someplace else where its better appreciated and you get more for the money that you spend.

We had tried take away from Jaipur once, we kinda like the taste but were suprised that they give only 1 rice whether you take one or 5 dishes. Damn expensive.\r
We then thought of trying their lunch buffet and this time we were prepared

I chose to order take out for Jaipur for lunch since my girlfriend doesn't really eat Indian food and their online prices looked to be cheaper than that of my favorite local Indian place (Desi Village). What a mistake. I picked up an order of meat samosas, pakoras, chicken tikki masala, and a side of raita. My first complaint is that the prices that they have listed on their site are definitely outdated. Those items together came to almost $30.00. The samosas were decent, but the seasoning was a little on the overpowering side. The pakoras were cold and not very good at all, and the raita pretty much tasted like bland yogurt water. YUCK. Another peeve was that I ordered the chicken tikka masala - which was $14 on it's own. Generally, anytime I order this, a side of rice is included. This was just a small plastic bowl of mostly sauce with maybe a cup of chicken chunks in it. Seriously? What am I supposed to do, drink the sauce? I wouldn't have ordered the side of yogurt water (which there was alot of) had I known I'd have no rice to put it on. I'll never go here again - another girlfriend of mine and I dined at an Indian joint on Friday night last week, got twice as much food, and only paid $45 for the both of us. Don't waste your hard-earned $$ on this crap.

Jaipur India is authentic Indian food. The service and food is consistently good. My friends and I make the trip to King of Prussia from various areas around the city because it is totally worth it! I would recommend Jaipur to anyone!

This is probably THE BEST indian restaurant in the greater philadelphia area, if not the entire mid-atlantic region. I used to live nearby and frequented the place often, and now that I live in downtown philly I still drive out to Jaipur pretty regularly for the food. The owner and the staff are always very courteous and friendly, and the food is excellent. I've eaten in indian restaurants around the world (NYC, London) and Jaipur has been by far my favorite place to go for indian food. Can't believe this hidden gem is right here outside philly! The place has been a go-to restaurant for many travellers who find themselves in the philly area for a few days, and I cannot recommend Jaipur highly enough.

We were there with our friends and living across the street at Dolce. We are Indians and we know that the food is authentic. They were willing to accomodate our friends who are not Indians and eat less spicy food. The ambience reminded me of Jaipur a place we have visited and we really did not expect this quality of food across from our hotel. I highly recommend anybody to patronize this restaurant! The manager will always take care of your needs.

I stayed at the Dolce across the street from this restaurant. We had lunch buffett and dinner many times over the period of our stay. I always judge a restaurant on their ability to make soup. It is not as easy as everyone thinks. Their soups - I tried them all - they were all great - but my favourite was the Spinach. They were able to accomodate my limited spice tolerance while providing for my husband, who wants much more. The seafood, chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes were exceptional. I only wish that they had a restaurant in Toronto - where I live.

I'm an American gal and I've been to Indian restaurants all over the country and this is by far my favorite! First of all, I love the owners. They are so knowledgeable and friendly. When I was single, I felt like I was going to visit mom and dad for a great home cooked meal everytime I went there and I've been going there since they opened their doors. They always change up the buffet items, which I can't say any other Indian restaurants do. Their soups are great....can I just say their mulligatawny soup always warms me especially when I am not feeling well. Their spinach and tomato soups are super too. Also, the Smoky Eggplant dish and the Tava Chicken is nothing like I've ever tasted anywhere around the world and I've traveled alot... my husband is from Turkey. Secondly, it's SOOO CLEAN! I never get sick when I eat there and I can't say that for MANY American restaurants. They care so much about the food they are making and the quality. The meat is ALWAYS fresh. Can I just say how many times I've been to other restaurants and the chicken is old and fishy tasting. Not EVER here. Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani, Curry Chicken, Biryani, Kofta, Aloo Gobi, pakoras, and roti and all naans flavors are awesome in my book. It's hard to find a nice restaurant like this in the Philadelphia area where the owners care so much. And as for price... people on here say how expensive it is... hello what ethnic food isn't a little bit more. But you get so much quality and FRESH made food. It's not Applebees people.

Jaipur is hands-down the best indian cuisine in the king of prussia area. The service is outstanding and the food is world-class. They use fresh ingredients and each dish is a unique culinary experience. The prices are fair considering the fine quality of the dishes. If you are lucky, the owner will make your tea by hand himself. Delicious!!!

We had been to this restaurant only once but the experience was so bad that we could not think of visiting the place again and will not recommend any one else. They charge too much for the very less quantity and on top of that if you want some extra chutney(which you will definitely as they server very less) you have to pay for that. And even you don't think too much about the money if the food is good which is also not in this case. Also the kind of notes on their menu card are weired. For e.g. The minimum order amount, don't use your cell phone etc..I would never recommend anyone for the place

We have eaten at many Indian restaurants from coast to coast and this is hands down the best Indian food we've eaten. Every time our children are back in town, they make sure we take them to Jaipur at least once, if not twice. It's definitely worth the drive from the city or the suburbs.

The owners are always gracious and welcoming, often coming to the table to see how you are enjoying your meal. Additionally, the restaurant boasts a very pleasant dining atmosphere, with authentic Indian artwork and music.

If you're new to Indian food, you could try their lunch buffet, where they have a large variety of dishes to choose from. We've never had a dish we didn't enjoy at Jaipur, but some of our favorite dishes are the Spinach soup, Chicken Korma, Punjabi Chicken Masala, Goa Fish Curry, Baingan Bhartha, Peshwari Naan (hard to find anywhere else), and the various Biryanis. The spices used in their dishes are amazing! The food is so great that we always order extra to take home. Also, it's BYO, which we love. If you haven't tried Jaipur, you don't know what you're missing!

We used to live in the area and the Jaipur was one of our favorite places to eat. Even now we make a point of eating there every time we are in the area. The quality has remained excellent over the years and we are eagerly anticipating our upcoming visit this month. I can't wait for the chicken tika masala and my husband is literally dreaming about the mixed grill and the rice. So good!

We stumbled upon Jaipur last weekend, and were most pleasantly surprised! We're big believers in the theory that the way to tell if an 'ethic' restaurant is good is to look at the patrons. A good 1/3 were Indian... many relaxing and socializing far after their meal was over. The atmosphere is very simple and unassuming, very mellow and classy, without being uptight. We felt at home in jeans and flip-flops, but would have felt equally at ease in a business suit or a nice dress. The staff was always around and easily accessible, but never in your face. The owner was thoroughly pleasant, and waited until just the right point in the meal to say hello. All in all, wonderful atmosphere and staff.

The food is equally excellent. Delicious chai, not pre-sweetened! The Chicken Tika (we tried the spiciest version) was wonderful. It was spicy, but not hot; sweet, but not cloyingly so. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the sauce so delicious we dipping our naan far after the chicken was gone.

We also tried a new lamb dish on the menu. I can't remember the name, and sadly it's not on the takeout menu they have available. It was a nice spicy tomato sauce, darker than tika. The lamb was tender and flavorful. Although it wasn't the a well coordinating flavor for the chicken tika, and I probably won't order the two together again, it was a delicious dish on its own.

The rice was perhaps the most surprising. I'm normally more of a sticky rice person rather than basmati, but I loved this amazingly light and fluffy and perfectly seasoned side. Plus, they actually use whole cardamom and cloves! And, although nothing out of the ordinary, the plain naan was delicious. Not burnt, not over-greasy, and surprisingly light.

All in all, a very filling meal for two with the above dishes ran us approx $50 with tip. While not the cheapest Indian around, it's certainly better than a comparably priced trip to Friday's or Applebees. And if you're watching your budget, try their lunch buffet or their take out lunch special which run about $7.00.

I have eaten there 3 times and enjoyed the Chicken Saag, Spinach Soup, and some of the appetizers. True they are expensive and the portions are small. However, many other restaurants charge a little less and serve ungodly food. I would love to try every dish on the menu, but am very pleased with the selections so far.

Just went there again tonight and experienced a few more dishes, again EXCELLENT!!!!

After reading the great reviews, we catered the food from this restaurant but it was a big disappointment, the food was expensive, substandard and less in quantity. For the same price or less you can get far better quality food and service from otherI Indian restaurants. We will NEVER again cater food from this restaurant !

We had heard great things about this restaurant but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. While the food was good the portions were small compared to other Indian restaurants in the area.

The most disappointing part of the visit was the service. The waiters did not seem interested in helping us, especially with questions about the food.

Although the food was good it was comparable to other Indian restaurants in the Philadelphia area which give larger portions for the same price.

We are Indian foodies having tasted it everywhere. We haven't found more original and scrumptious food at an Indian restaurant yet. The interior is very pleasant, service prompt and owner there to take your order and meet your needs. Egg plant was unique, served baked with topping on a sizzling plate. Okra crispy and divine as were the jogan bosh and chicken tika. Try the pistachio nut ice creme made by the owner as the topper. Our 4 month old grandson smiled enjoying the fragrant smells of Indian spices dreaming of getting his share at the next feeding. HLH.

This restaurant boasts the most fabulous Indian food I have ever had. It's hard to believe such excellence exists in a random American suburb. The ingredients are always fresh, the aromas, spices, and tastes are delectable, and the atmosphere is calming and never pretentious. Unlike many of the choices in the area, Jaipur??s cuisine is so authentic that every bite transports you to the heart of India; a place where the rain is warm, where thousands of years of culture surround a dynamic population, where any outsider can feel both grounded and inspired simultaneously. Jaipur is hands down the best Indian food. It is quite clear that the person who reviewed the restaurant below me is seriously confused. If you can??t afford to travel to India, experience the majesty that is Jaipur Indian Cuisine.

I've been reading a few of there reviews and I really have to jump to save Jaipur! I've been going to this restaurant for about 2 two years now and I had to take the time to write this review.

I actually talked the owner about the reviews on this site and he was very open to talk about it. He said that his buffet for lunch had been an issue with trying to price it and with some people literally taking 4 -5 plates of food. As a result of those few cheap people, he was losing alot of money. Apparently, for a while the staff got out of hand with making rules to stop these few people but that's not the case anymore. I pasted my yahoo review below. I urge you to go check out other review sites and you'll see more positive reviews.

Service: The host/owner is a saint of a man. It's not uncommon for him to give his customers free desert or some other treat. He and his sons that help out there take alot of care into making sure the customer is happy. I don't think I've ever had to wait either. I do try to make reservations now and again on the weekend. It's very cute how they make cards with the name of the reservation and put it on the table "Reserved for Mr. McCumber". That's a very nice touch.

Food: Awesome. I've traveled to at least 15 cities in the US and ate Indian. This is in the top two and maybe number 1. I try to stick to the Chicken TIkka, Tikka Masala (the curry version), and anything they do on their tandoor oven. It's so unlike any other food! Spicy, mild - I like both and they always cater as long as you tell them.

Atmosphere - it's not over the top, but it's also not a bare place. indian tapestries line the walls, soft authentic music plays in the background, and the place never has the busy hub-bub feel that some places have.

I really have to recommend this place big time.

Pros: Best Chicken Tikka Masala in the City, Wonderful Host

Cons: A few dishes are not up to par with the others,

My favorite Indian Restaurant was closed and my friend insisted on Indian food so we ended up at Jaipur. I wasnt the biggest fan of this place. The food did not taste fresh, and their service was okay. My friends asked for her food to be VERY mild and they still made is pretty spicy.
I dont think I will end up there again.

Perhaps the negative reviews here are for lunchtime. Personally, I'm not a fan of buffets and haven't eaten here for lunch but I can tell you about our dinner experiences. FANTASTIC! Wonderful, polite service. Delicious food. Every time. I have to agree with the original poster. If you go for dinner, you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the finer Indian restaurants I've eaten in. I travel a lot on the job and have made it a mission to find and try out Indian restaurants across the US. Jaipur is one of the top 5 on my list.

I had a cup of the Spinach soup which was spicy and delicious. The chicken tikka masala was delectable, the sauce was rich without being overwhelming - the chicken was cooked to perfection.

Excellent selection of breads - I had the keema nan - stuffed with spiced ground lamb - I can still taste it!

Pleasant staff, always around but discrete - a little different from the usual expectation in Indian restaurants. The owner is always walking around and chatting with the patrons. For a guest dining alone (such as myself) - this was a pleasant break from the monotony of eating alone.

I highly recommend Jaipur - if you're in the Philadelphia area, this is one Indian restaurant you must visit. There are two more that I would recommend in this area but if you must choose only one, Jaipur is the right choice.

PROS: Pleasant staff, cozy atmosphere, plenty of parking
CONS: No alcohol but not drinking beer leaves more room for food ;)

When I walked in I was "greeted" with a much too strong incense smell. It was present throughout the meal and it made it very difficult to taste my food. I felt like I was eating incense. Further, the servers are rude. At the buffet one of the servers grabbed something out of my hand! Also, there are signs posted everywhere about how you will be charged extra if you waste food (a $2.00 charge) or if you use a bowl that is only to be used for fruit (a $1.00 charge). All of the above contributes to a generally unpleasant setting. To be fair, the food is okay but I've had much better food for the same (or less) in a much more pleasant setting.

These people are doing a great service by catering to the various tastes. The delivery is in time and the satff are very polite.I have ordered a couple of times and every time the party seems to be perfect , u can just order and forget abt it coz it will arrive just perfect and in time too.The taste is good , just the rite amt of herbs to satisfy everyone.

This place has a pathetic attitude towards its customers! If they had it their way, they would charge you for every damn thing... spoon, fork, etc.. Not only were we refused additional bowls rudely by the waiter, but also were charged for the buffet that we had barely got started with! I havent come across any other restaurant run by such unethical people. Bottom line.. all they care about is making their money... retaining their customers is a concept unheard of! I am not the kind of person who likes to give negative reviews for the kicks of it! No matter how good the food is, but its the customer service which eventually matters. I think I have more than expressed my opinion about this restaurant. ..its up to you to decide whether to consider or disregard it before visiting this place again.

I went here a few times. The first time I went I never had Indian before and I made a bad choice from the menu and didn't have Indian food for some time after that. The next time my husband and I went to the buffet which they have during the weekdays at certain hours. It was excellent. The food was fresh and although they don't have a ton of selections, all of my new favorite dishes are there. It isn't too spicey as some places tend to be. The soups and flattened breads are excellent. They have a nice little salad bar with some dessert type dishes as well. I don't remember the exact price, but I know it is less than $10 a person. The only downside is it can be difficult to get here for their buffet since they don't have it on weekends.

The new Hyderabadi rice dish with lamb is outstanding. Wonderfully complex, fruity, spicy.

I haven't found an Indian place that surpasses Jaipur, even since I moved to New York City, a haven for Indian food. The owner is a very sweet, kindly man who remembers your face. Jaipur is a real treasure of a restuarant.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The best Indian food in or out of Philadelphia. The variety of dishes offered, the quality of food, and the gracious owners will make your visit one to remember and one which you will want to repeat. I have eaten here many times and never once been disappointed. Try the Chicken Curry, or Goa Fish Cuury, throw in a Samosa, and an order of Ali Gobi and Nan, and the evening is set.
