I will never set foot in this shop again and advise the same of others. The owner was so rude, judgemental and mean- I had every intention of buying a new bike there but decided not to just because I did not want to give him my money- I will go elsewhere where the salespeople actually respect and listen to their customers.

Cons: rude, understocked, mean

Bad Experience! Kind of a Rip-off!
I brought my bike in for a tune-up. I was quoted one price and when the work was done, I was charged a price so much higher. Beyond that, the work was not that great. After the work was done, the brakes were still not braking properly and the gears were rough when shifting. I brought it back in and they worked on it again, but the brakes are STILL not working properly! What's the deal? This place may be a "hip" spot for some, but if you actually want good work done, just take it somewhere else.

A friend of mine lived near this shop so she got to know the owner, and he is definitely a character! I like that this shop is "family" owned and run. Every once in awhile, he'll hang a sign outside that will say, "Neighborhood sale, everything at cost," when he needs to get rid of some items or increase his cash flow. I was able to get some nice accessories for my bike, and he even installed a bike rack and basket for me (I can't remember if it was free or at a really good price). The shop is very crowded, and unfortunately you have to go down a few steps into a narrow doorway, a little difficult with a bike. My friend bought her bike there at an excellent price. Bicycle Therapy is also a nice bike shop, so I would check out these 2 first, if you're in the market for a bike or bike stuff.

Not the place to go if you want to get schmoozed into buying a 3000 dollar bike you don't need. There's a reason why Bike Worx is endorsed by Wharton guide - because they won't rip you off. Most people don't need their bike to be like Lance Armstrong's. If there is a cheaper way I have yet to see it. Yes the owner has his moods. But he's not a crook. I've seen people with a simple problem and the owner fix it for free. If you want to get sunshine blown up your rear end or get ripped off then go to his competition - it's that simple. If you are frugal, want a cheap bike that will get you from A to B and access the best tune ups and repair shop in the city (Joe is _the man_) then go to these guys.

Pros: Cheap, Great Repair, Value

Cons: Gruff sometimes

The owner is aweful! He will not stop talking!!! I"ve never had such a terrible experience in a store before. He bashes every bike brand excluding his own. He thinks Bianchi and Fugi are terrible. He pressured a friend of mine to buy a bike he didn't even want! He is so terrible I don't even know where to begin.

Pros: Cheap bikes

Cons: pushy, obnoxious, unorganized

The name of the store implies everything. These guys sell and repair bikes that you can customize at a cheap price. They basically use parts from various other bikes to create a "Frankinstien" bike (see, that's where the name comes in).

If you like to be belittled by an independant business owner then this is the place to go. In the five minutes I was in this store I saw two other customers feel pressured to buy things they didn't want and leave empty handed. I also heard the owner tell a customer that if she had to think about what kind of bike she had it sucked. I will never buy anything there.
