Pickles Steak House

Going to eat there today around 4:00 Will get back to you and let you know.Bob from Slatington. Sounds like the bad reports came from a friend of mine.He is never happy.Don't like to spend too much money either.

Our 23 year old son ordered one of the larger steaks cooked medium rare. It came burned around the edges with the center raw. It was tough and chewy and a large part of it was fat and grizzel.

I ordered clam chowder and a burger cooked medium to well. I received a mass produced frozen beef pattie, dried out and over cooked. When we were done eating and just about ready to leave my clam chowder arrived. It would have been nice to have some actual clam meat in it.

The very good fries that we remembered are gone, replaced with the kind that you expect to get at a low cost roadside diner.

This took place when they were not overly busy, plenty of open tables and no waiting line to get in,

On the plus side they did keep our drink glasses filled.

We patronize Pickles on a regular basis! Excellent food and Spirits! Fun Sportsbar on one side and Circus Theme on opposite non smoking side of bldg.

Moved into area from NYC and found this place by accident. Ate Prime Rib and shared appetizers with some company on a recent visit. The free pickles to start are a great touch also.

PROS: Good Food, FREE PICKLES
CONS: No booths

Regularly go to pickles. Love the place. Food is great and atmosphere is also superb. This restaurant is an asset to the area. Casual Dining at its best.

I wouldn't recommend Pickles to anyone. If you are looking for an overpriced, average quality meal, then give it a try. The service was horrible. The steak was less than mediocre. For the price I was expecting at least above average food, but I was quickly disappointed. I would not recommend Pickles to anyone for the food (not a bad beer selection though).

PROS: - Familiar enviornment - Drink selection
CONS: - Slow Service (Off Peak) - Mediocre Food Quality - Total Disappointment

Awesome Place. Over 20 beers on tap. Only place I ever recieved a perfect Pittsburg style ribeye. My wife had the whole rotissere chicken which she enjoyed. My ribeye was a 24 oz cut. Best Steak I ever had.

Took my son & his wife there, it was our first time, on a Sunday, evening at 5:30PM.
We got seated fast but had to wait to long for our waiter. We ordered a Blooming onion along with our drinks. That took long and the Blooming onion came it was the size of a soft ball, for 4 people!! We ordered 2 T-bone steaks 20oz. and the women ordered a seafood combo. and a ribeye steak.
Our bill was $120.00 and the food wasn't good quality at all. The T-bone steaks had very little eatable meat and my wifes Ribeye was chewy. My sons wife ordered the sea food comb and it wasn't fresh and her jumbo shimp were nomal size.
For that kind of money I expected a better quality!!!

PROS: None
CONS: Not quality food for your money!!

Pickles is great because of the friendly service and the excellent food that they provide. While waiting we always recieve pickles to tie us over while waiting for our meals. The portion sizes are great. I rarely leave there without left-overs. My husband ordered the 32 oz. steak and could not finish it! They are great in the fact that they do cook to order and their steaks are always the correct, wheter it be well done or med. rare. We never have a long wait to be seated and have always enjoyed our meals there.

PROS: free garlic pickles
CONS: no major veggies
