If you love the venue enough, the Red Fern is worth it ONLY IF YOU'RE SUPER ORGANIZED. Otherwise, STAY CLEAR.

Sue Meyer is a pain. I had to start writing everything down because she messed up EVERYTHING, including my entire wedding invoice, let the staff to take my favors away, messed up my taste testing orders, etc. I had to constantly remind her and correct her with things. I talked to her for about an hour on final details when we were taste testing. At the end of the convo she asked if I was having my ceremony there! Um, hello, we talked about it the entire conversation. She was MIA during my rehearsal and showed up RIGHT before the ceremony started. I couldn't even take pictures with my bridesmaids with the fireplace on because she hadn't arrived yet. Only the groomsmen got pictures in front of it with the fire. She is no help. I think I saw her twice during the reception. I should have listened to the reviews on her. They were all true, she is awful and you can tell she only cares about taking your money.

I had many complaints on the staff from my guests saying they were being very unhelpful during the reception. Apparently the staff took plates away before guests were even finished with their meal! UNACCEPTABLE. We LOVED the bartender Patty though!

If you are organized to a T, can deal with Sues forgetfulness, and constantly deal with correcting her, go for it. Otherwise, go some place else. I ended up having a blast because my DJ (Madd Maxx) was awesome and the food is delicious.

I was expecting a 5-star type of event & wasn't let down. One of the owners Sue held my hand through the entire process helping me every step of the way.The hall itself is very regal & adds to the richness of the affair. The meal was served buffet style & most of it was delicious though some of it seemed overcooked but since the bridal party was late the kitchen can't be blamed. The staff did their jobs proficiently & professionally yet the did seem to be very stoic & joyless during the night, upon my insistence I did get a couple smiles out of the bartender. I would highly recommend the Fern as I feel that I got my monies worth & then some

Some of worst service, management and owners you will ever deal with. Owner SUE, is really helpful and nice up until she receives check for reception. She then could care less how your wedding experience is, and believe me its not good. If you pay for the buffet style food service they serve their staff first then run out of food for guests. When you have an open bar they charge guests for drinks and realize they made a "mistake" a half hour later, refusing to refund guests. The management swears at you, the bartenders refuse to get drinks during "breaks" in bar hours and good luck having a discussion with the owners. They even threatened to call the State Police on guests who were just trying to get a drink during bar hours. They close the bar early and tell the DJ not to announce last call. Dont be deceived how nice the place looks and how nice SUE is you before your wedding, you are in for a big dissapointment.

Just a warning to anyone that ever has a wedding there. First off, the place is beautiful and the food was excellent, but the nice things about the RED FERN end there. You will never encounter a more unprofessional, rude and disrespectful staff, management and owner in any business than you would at the Red fern. Although we paid for an open bar, my guests were treated to paying for their drinks. When management was confronted on the issue they refused to refund our guests and stated they will not refund us for the money we paid to have an open bar. Although the food tasted great, they ran out of food (buffet style). Before they did they served their own staff before wedding guests. They got to eat, paying guests didn't. You will never encounter a more rude and incompetent bar staff as you would at the red fern. They took breaks during bar hours, talked on their phones and refused to make drinks. They charged my own DAD for drinks at the beginning of the wedding. Every one of my 220 guests had complaints about the male bartender. When we talked to the owners SUE and the male (the one with that uses a cane to walk) they swore at us, and stated "We aint giving you nothing back, you paid us already, theres nothing you can do, if you dont like it I will call the State Police and drag you guys out of here" He said this to the BRIDE and GROOM the people that paid over 10,000 for the service. That Male owner than started poking guests in the chest with his finger and swore at them when they were trying to get drinks because he wanted to shut the bar 15 minutes early most likely to maximize their greedy profits. Although we paid 18% gratuity and were told that their bartenders dont put up a tip jar, they had two sitting on the bar. You will find better management and service at minimum wage restaurants over the RED FERN. When I called SUE after the wedding to discuss issues about the wedding she started yelling at me and denied all the issues and called all 220 guests "liars" She then said that she doesnt care how I feel about the wedding because other people will keep coming back to the RED Fern anyway and then hung up. Future Brides, Grooms and family members, you better think twice about having your wedding at the red fern, you will be in for a big dissapointment. I wish I read the several OTHER dissapointing reviews before I booked my wedding there.

We chose the Red Fern for our daughter's wedding reception in May 2010. We had a sit down dinner for just over 200 guests. The Red Fern delivered on everything as promised and more. The facility is spacious and warm. We would recommend the Red Fern without hestitation. It exceeded our expectations! The organization, efficiency and elegance are like none other in the area!

Yes it is a beautiful place and not everyone there was rude to me and my guests at the wedding but the people that owned it were. They were very nice right up until the wedding day. They were veru rude to my cake decorator when she dropped off the cake. They wanted to make sure that it was one flavor, which was not there concern (hello my wedding, my cake) because they did not havve to deal with 2 different kinds of cake, for when they served it. But guess what they did not serve it to my guest they cut pieces and then put them back onthe cake table. If i am paying for the tip i want the service. Which brings me to my next point. We paid three seperate bills for the red fern and each bill even for the little decorations i had them put up was 18% on each bill. Well we told them 2 days before the wedding to put no tip jar out because we already paid for that. What did they do during the wedding, they put the tip jar out. There was a lot more disappoointing this=ngs that went on but i am not typing it all, there probably would not be enough room. Just think twice before you book the red fern. It may be beautiful but i was not happy.

Pros: Nice looking place

Cons: poor service and poor management service

Yes the Red Fern is a pretty place, but you need to have good service to go along with that. I have had my wedding reception there not to long ago and was not happy with the type of service that my guests and i received. The staff and the management were very rude. I really don' t think they had a smile on their face the whole night. This really does make people feel uncomfortable. We asked them not to put a tip jar out because we already paid on each of our three bills 18% gratuity, but they did anyway. They cut the cake and placed it on the cake table and did not even serve it. If i paid for the waiters then i want them to do there job. If you are going to own and run a business like this one then you need to have people that are friendly. It seemed like they were nice up until the wedding day.

A beautiful banquet Facility. Main hall seats 400 people, they offer a Sunday morning breakfast. It is newly built and very elegant inside and out. I would recommend this place for any reception or reunion.
