During active labor with my oldest son, I herniated two discs in my back/neck. This was not determined until I met Dr. Meyers. For six months I was back and forth to my PCP for them to tell me nothing was wrong. Finally, a physician assistant referred me to The Pain Control Center of Pittsburgh. With in one visit, I was scheduled for an MRI and they began treating my pain. The next visit determined that I did, in fact, have bulging and herniated discs. This was six years ago and Dr. Meyers and his staff have worked with me to alleviate most of my pain. He even treated me while I was pregnant with my second son. If it was not for their help and guidance I would not be able to maintain my position as a middle school teacher, active mom of two little guys, and a wife. I owe a great deal of gratitude for allowing me to continue living my life with the least amount of pain. Thank-you, Dr. Meyers!!

If you have pain and you have been seeing doctors that tell you just to live with it, then you need to get referred to the Pain Control Center of Pittsburgh. In addition to their Monaca office, they also have an office in the S. Hills of Pittsburgh. Dr. Myers is the most down-to-earth doctor I have ever come across. All of his staff from the receptionists to the nurse to the physicians assistants all empathize with you pain and take you at face value when you tell them what you experience on a daily basis. Although you generally have to wait in the waiting room way past your appointment time and then some once you get back to an exam room, the wait is well worth it because they will make every effort to try to control you pain to the best of their ability. If you are having an exceptionally difficult time, once you are an established patient, every effort is made to get you in to be seen either by the doctor or the physician assistant. A very kind compassionate staff who truly is interested in you and your pain. More doctors need to be like this.

PROS: Great compassionate staff, every effort made to control pain.
CONS: Appointments are not taken on time, expect a wait.
