Even the bigger recruiters are not exempt from deceptive tactics. I replied to an ad and Christine Leuzzi of ACSYS promptly called me about it, or so I thought that was the reason for her calling. I was excited to call her back thinking possibly it was a lead on this particular job. We talked for 10 minutes with her gathering some of my background information and setting up a meeting, while I'm waiting for her to mention the job that I specifically sent my resume' in response to. She never brought it up. I had to say "well, what about the job I responded about". She told me I was overqualified without ever discussing salary or anything else. In this climate, it would seem appropriate to ask the salary question regardless if whether my qualifications were more than required. She has no idea what I'd accept without asking me. So what does all this mean? It means there was no job and this was nothing more than a tactic to get me in for a meeting and to get my resume' on file. I've learned my lesson with recruiters and responding to their ads and let this be a lesson to everyone. When sending your resume' or responding to an ad, specify that you only want to be contacted about legitimate leads. It will save yourself a lot of aggravation and wasted time.

Pros: Called back quickly in response to my resume'

Cons: Seemed to have no idea she was calling me in response to a particular job
