We have been clients of GHAH for a good 14 years with our 2 dogs, we have always paid our bills on time and in full. We never complained before about waiting, costs etc. We just lost both dogs in 4 days, they offered FREE FOOTPRINTS. They

Im so glad that you and I had a chance to speak about your experience with us here at Good Hope Animal Hospital. Obviously, you felt frustrated enough so that you wrote this review without delay; well before you and I had an opportunity to talk and straighten things out. But I do understand. We all have moments when we just need to be heard. While I regret that we hadnt spoken before you wrote your review, I am satisfied knowing that weve addressed your concerns.

As we are a full service medical and surgical facility, we handle emergency situations when they arise. Unfortunately, that means that we have to occasionally inconvenience our other clients. Although this doesnt happen very often (we work hard to prevent it), it did happen during the evening you came in for your visit with us. As you pointed out, that event resulted in a delay for some of our appointments that evening, including yours. I do apologize for this. If you had happened to come in at any other time, I can assure you that you would have had a very different experience. Normally our doctors run on time and clients only wait in the reception area for a few minutes. Nonetheless, Im sorry for the way things worked out.

Im also pleased that we had an opportunity to discuss your concerns over our fees. Aside from being upfront about our regular exam fee (which is competitive with exam fees charged by other veterinary clinics in the area), we do strive to give our clients treatment and medication options whenever possible. And we try to make sure that our clients understand the costs of those options. Ultimately, our goal is to give our patients the very best care we can give them, while also considering the needs (financial or otherwise) of our clients. It can be a balancing act at times, but we always try to collaborate with our clients to find solutions that are most suitable for them as well as their pets.

Im proud, too, of the fact that our fees are pretty well middle-of-the-road. We couldnt afford to hire and keep the best vets and support staff, or purchase and maintain the latest equipment if we charged the least. On the other hand, we want to keep our services as affordable as possible, so we dont charge premium prices either. So, instead of taking a position on one end of the price spectrum or the other, our goal has always been to provide the best overall value. Naturally, this approach means we wont be a perfect fit for everybody.

Once again, Id like to reiterate that Im sorry you were less than satisfied with your visit. Im happy we had a chance to talk about it, and whether or not you choose to see us again, I sincerely wish you the best.

Be prepared................to wait. Don't expect to be seen at your appointment time. Don't even expect to be seen within 30 minutes of your appointment time. Don't expect the vet to spend more than a few minutes with you before rushing on. They are always behind. Don't expect to be told how much services or medication will cost. Expect expensive surprises at checkout. Don't expect there to be anything that comes close to management or even decent customer service.

I had an issue with how much something was going to cost because the vet that saw my pet never told me. There was no office manager available, no one cared, the owner was there and refused to talk to me because...........you guessed it, he's one of the vets and he was 3 appointments behind. Expect that they will recommend surgery or other expensive options. These people only care about their bottom line. They have no understanding of what customer service is. If you voice your opinion or ask to speak with anyone, prepare to be called difficult and get an attitude from the office staff. I would recommend anyone that doesn't want to overpay or spend a lot of time waiting steer clear of this place.

My sister and I have taken our pets to this facility since it opened. We are so thankful for the way the vets, especially Rob, who has been there since the opening, take care of our babies--all eight of them. If we have an emergency with one of the "kids", the staff always accommodate us as soon as possible. They care for our pets just as if they were their own. As long as we have pets, we will make sure they go to this facility for care! Thank you Good Hope Animal Hospital for all you have done for us and our "children".
