.

We had our kid at Abington. THey are the #1 deliverer or babies in the Philadelphia area.

Great pre-natal classes. I especially recommend the 1-evening breast feeding class... even if you are planning to use formula!

Great delivery rooms. Very competant staff. And when we asked for a lactation consultant, they had one available to talk to us every time! We especially appreciated that.

Now, the down side. For a standard vaginal delivery and 2 nights in the hospital, they billed $25,000! Insurance paid about $7000, and they wrote the rest off. This is much higher than in other areas of PA, by a factor of 2. A friend with a C-section was billed $34K!
Also, almost every nurse or dr. that came to check on the baby asked is we wanted him circumcised. The answer was no the first time, so why do they keep asking? A completely unnecessary procedure, no need to hurt a tiny newborn baby.
