Erie Sport Store Inc

If your son or daughter plays hockey like mine does there's no other choice but "The Erie Sports Store". I've dealt with all the hockey stores in Erie. None comes close to the CUSTOMER SERVICE like Phil gives. I tried to stay away from stores that weren't exclusive Hockey Stores, but with hockey skates costing up to $600 I wanted to shop around. I even looked online. Phil spent over an hour with us , knowing we were just looking for skates around $300. I found he is VERY knowledgeable, easy to talk to and will go out of his way to help you in any way he can.

The hockey department on keystone drive is excellent. Good selection, decent pricing, and excellent customer service. Phil, who runs the hockey department, will spent as much time as is needed to help you get what you need. He knows his stuff and wont lie and tell you that you need top end equipment. He will tell you what is suitable for you and your experience level. He also sharpens skates and does a good job. I had him cut a different radius so I could try it. When I returned the next day unhappy with the change, he gladly resharpened them for free.

I go there every so often to sharpen my ice hockey skates. Great Ice hockey department. Decent selection of everything else in the newer store on Peach Street. And above all DECENT PRICING. Possibly not even matched by online retailers. I would definitely rate this store ten times above Dick's Sporting Goods.

Husband and I drove over an hour specifically to purchase a kayak from them. Pleased with the service....spent over $800. Only problem I am now having is the fact that they forgot to give one item that was supposed to be with the purchase and are making a big deal out of just mailing it to me. Having to go through all these hoops. I'm getting disgusted with their customer satisfaction. I work retail running a store at one time and I would never worry about the cost of mailing a forgotten item to a customer. Thus my reason for a low rating. Will write BBB.

when my wife and son and me was there on Saturdays to purchase so hockey stuff when Phil help us out.this is just out 2Nd year of hockey and we don't know to much about it.so Phil help us with getting him gear up and help us.i really think he is a god of hockey he knows everything and he is a very nice guy and he makes u feel really good after leaving the store.now that we have Phil we never have to worry again.thanks Phil for your help

Great Hockey department....My family and I were up on vacation from Pittsburgh when we came in to get some equipment. Both gentlemen Phil and his assistant Keith were very professional and showed us various options of equipment at different prices. They were honest and the prices were fair, my son commented on how much they knew because he is always surfing the web for hockey gear, and he knows his stuff. This is a great department in a big store and we look forward to comming back to shop again in the future!!!

My son got involved in youth hockey several years ago. Knowing nothing about the sport, my main concern was his safety. I assumed to outfit him would require a second mortgage. While it was not cheap, I was pleasantly surprised at the lengths Phil at the Peach Street location went to outfit him in equipment that not did not need to be top of the line stuff, yet kept him safe. In the years since, he has always taken the time to steer us the right way in terms of good, affordable equipment that meets our needs. I gladly pay an extra buck or two for equipment in exchange for service in the ESS hockey department. Outstanding service from people who seem to enjoy helping you. Most everyone I run across in the youth hockey program is of the same feeling.

As a golf fanatic, I constantly find myself shopping online. ESS (Erie Sports Store) says they will beat pricing but anytime I take a price up there they won't even match, let alone beat. Apparently they think they only have to beat Dick's. I was sad when Pro Golf left because they did beat pricing. ESS will let you swing the equipment but with no launch monitor or pro up there, you really aren't getting a gauge of what is best for you. Lastly, on pricing again, I bought this Youth Hockey Discount card that says I get 10% of purchases but it apparently isn't good on sale items. Well since everything up there is overpriced anyways, it goes on "sale" and then I can't even use the card because the item is already on sale. Way behind the times in today's economy. Sorry ESS, I try but you continue to fail me.

The Erie Sport Store has everything one could ever want. I always check the Sport Store whenever I need something. The employees are very helpful. When is it very busy, unfortunately there are not always enough people on hand, but they try to get to everyone as soon as possible. The employees in the team department are my favorite to assist me. They are all very easy-going and are very knowledgeable about their products. I recommend the Erie Sport Store to everyone I can. I wish them the best of luck with their move!

My husband stopped at the Erie Sport Store before Christmas last year to purchase a Swiss Army knife I had found on-line. We try and buy locally when able to contribute to the local economy. Well, the sales clerk directed my husband to the many knives they had available but they could not find the exact one I wanted. The kind sales clerk called the manager who came over and could not find the knife either. My husband suggested he look to see if they could possibly order one in through their vendors to which the manager flippantly replied. "Do you have any idea what time of year it is?" like my husband was asking him to offer up his left kidney or something, A simple, "I doubt that we could get it in before Christmas, but I'd be glad to check for you." Would have been way more appreciated, and appropriate. I'm not sure who owns these stores but this behavior should not be tolerated. I am now looking for a kayak, a much more expensive item than the Swiss Army knife. Someone told me the the Erie Sport Store is having a moving sale now, too bad we had such a bad experience there before, I guess I'll have to go to Gander Mountain.

I went in to buy two GMRS radios and could not get any one to wait on me. I saw someone peeping through the rows watching me but they would not come and wait on me. Needless to say I left only later to find out it was the store manager watching me. I have NEVER returned to Erie Sports Store.

They have been around a long time and keep their prices right. the workers are friendly and are willing to answer your questions no matter what. sale prices are worth while.

If you are looking for anything to do with sports, the Erie Sports Store is the place to go. They have everything from guns to basketballs to poker supplies. The service is great also.
