friends and I enjoyed the signature cosmopolitan martini in the lounge (and it was hard to choose from so many) as well as dinner in the courtyard. We had the bruschetta and stuffed banana peppers that were just delicious. Enjoyed the Seabass for dinner that was fresher than anywhere! Shared the chocolate cake and we're hooked... Will go weekly and are happy they've been in our backyard for the last 12 years.. Great, personable staff too. Love the art deco decor and music.

Love the service, love the martini, food is never disappointing

just like the name said, I like this place. Can never go wrong with the martini and their food. Awesome service! and love their bartenders. Food can be little bit greasy or too garlicy from time to time, but it's Italian :) very clean, good setting. a good hang out spot with a group of people.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it for a special occassion or a first date. It's rather upscale for the Erie area, but compared to some bigger cities, the food quality here is comparable and is reasonably priced. Expensive for Erie tastes, but cheaper compared to similar restaurants in bigger cities. I ate the sesame ahi tuna, which was a large portion size of tuna, excellent quantity, plus came with a full serving of noodles. Service was good.
Pros: Great atmosphere, nice upscale restaurant that's a good addition to the Erie area
Cons: probably a little pricey for most Erie-ites

A very special place to go for dinner

This is definately fine dining- a great place to go for a special occasion. Entrees are pricey, but worth the money. Great happy hour pint specials, and you could get an appetiser at the bar for a more affordable option.

Everything in perspective

My hometown Erie desperately needs more restaurants like Matthew's Trattoria especially now living in a big city (Detroit) I now see the finer side of dining. Matthews not only has good food but has great service which is a rarity in Erie. Matthew's is not only the place to go for that special evening but also for the mid-week stop for a quick eat and drink.
