DR, Hopkins passed away May 23, 2012, He is dearly missed by many and highly regarded for his love of animals and the loving care he gave them. A wonderful man. I will be hard pressed to find another Vet like him, and one I can afford.

We took our Yellow Lab Sammy to Dr. Hopkins for years. Under the impression that since Sammy felt comfortable there that it was a safe place. We had no reason to suspect that Dr. Hopkins would do anything but help her. It seemed that he did just that for 10 whole years. Let me tell you more about my best friend Samantha (Sammy) She was our family's first dog. She was a very VERY good girl! When Sammy was 8yrs old she started having problems with her hips. Arthritis. We brought her to our vet immediately and he prescribed her some medication to take one a day orally... And this seemed to help. For awhile, but then Sam started getting sists, gaining weight, and losing her hair... We brought her to the doctor and he told us she was just getting old... Then the doctor started switching her pain meds... He said he no longer carried the ones shed been on... She went from a white pill to a green pill to a pink pill all within a month... we started noticing Sam was heading for the worst, she couldn't walk anymore... Couldn't eat... We finally looked up the pills online... and discovered that we should of waited 10 days before switching the meds... He didn't tell us that... Told us she could begin them the next day... Because we had asked... After this we took Sam to another vet... The pill cocktail had torn up her insides... To top it off the "Old Age" was actually distinct signs of Cushing disease... He had to of known... He was the vet. There are ways to treat Cushing but Sammy was left untreated... Then given a fatal dose of steroids! My Sammy Girl Passed Away the other day In more pain then anyone would ever want to see there pet, their friend in... Please be cautious if you use Dr. Hopkins! If it sounds a bit odd PLEASE get a 2nd opinion! To protect yourselves from this terrible loss and guilt feeling my family is going through at the moment.

What can I say about Dr Hopkins....
Hes always been very kind and helpful and yes very reasonable.I can see he genuinely cares about the pets as well as the owners. He does not run unnecessary tests,he explains proceedures and even discusses costs befoore he does the treatment. My mom has always taken her dogs too.I was very concerned when he was in the hospital recently but hes back now.It will be a very sad day if or when he retires.Thank You so much for all you do Dr Hopkins. The Gable Family.

PROS: kind,has a gentle hand,a big heart,reasonable rates
CONS: wish he had more days that he was open or that he could be on call

Stanley is a wonderful vet. He never pressures you into unnecessary procedures or pills, etc. He truly cares for the health of my animals and their well being. I hear people talk about how their dog can tell when they pull up at the vets and how they get scared. Not my dogs, they bee bop in there, tails wagging, hi doc, how are you doing? That says something to me.

PROS: evening and weekend hours
CONS:

Dr. Hopkins is a great vet. He always gives my pets the care and medical attention they need and deserve. He is very kind and gentle when dealing with the animals. His office has a very "small town vet" feel to it. There are no appointments, you just walk in. The prices for treatments are great here as well. I have never paid over $25 for my cats to be treated, including medicine.

Dr. Hopkins is a really nice guy. His fees are very reasonable. Actually his fees are downright cheap. He seems to be an excellent veterinarian. All this doesn't come without a downside though. There are no appointments. It is first come, first serve during office hours. This can be a bit of a problem when the office is busy and full of active dogs and cats. The worst thing is that you can't count on emergency service with this vet. I have already had to use another vet in an emergency which can be somewhat of an annoyance to the other vets. In a nutshell, if you just need routine shots and check-ups on a budget, this is the vet for you.

PROS: cheap, excellent care
CONS: emergency service isn't dependable
