Insider Pages Reviews for Oak Lane Diner

Ratings_icons Oak Lane Diner is a classic.

Newly updated, this is one of the few "true" diners in Philadelphia. So the food is what you'd expect of the best diners, especially breakfast. Always packed with construction workers.

If you are looking for a classic diner, this is the place to come. It is always packed, mostly with locals. The food is good, despite being diner food. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Ratings_icons Nice lunch spot

We have gone here for a quick lunch several times. Service can be slow at times but the food is always good and prices are not too bad. Parking is not great. Last time, I had to park on the street. They are doing some remodeling to the outside and they put up a new nice big sign welcoming everyone to Philadelphia.

Despite the crowded space on Sunday afternoons, the Oak Lane Diner is a great little place. It's a typical diner with great food, cheap prices, and friendly faces. There are times when it's been a bit of a wait, but that's only because it's so good!

Ratings_icons Best Home Fried Potatoes anywhere - Fresh not frozen!

sherreese

Very very good food. Great fruit, breakfast and sandwiches. Open faced cornbeef sandwhich is the best by far - i like it made special with cole slaw instead of crout and add tomatoes! I can't find another diner that come close to making potatoes as good as this - except in the DC area - The Silver Springs Diner there makes them just as good but by far the best in Philly though!

Pros: Good Food and Friendly waiters for the most part - 1 bad apple should not spoil the bunch

Cons: Parking is conjested but that's philly for you and it's always packed - but the food is good - it should be!

Ratings_icons Soul Food and Romance

A place to come and enjoy some down south style soul food, and have privacy with the one you love. You gotta try the bar-b-que chicken and shrimp!

Pros: Inexpensive, quality/quantity, speedy service

Cons: , booths smoking only
