This motel was nasty! I took all the covers (that hadn't been washed) off the bed and went to the nearest walmart and bought new ones. I also got my own towels, washclothes and flipflops for the nasty shower. I bought cleaning stuff to clean the walls that had a bad odor. We didn't walk on the nasty floor without shoes, The room was also very hot. The owner has a nasty attitude!! As a matter of fact everything about this place was nasty!! Be careful if you dare to stay there, the owner watches to see when the cars are gone and goes though the rooms and your stuff. The only reason we stayed was because somebody put us upi there. The ONLY reason!! I have to give a one to five star...but it does not deserve even a one!

This proprietor apparently needs to educate herself on the law. She continues to charge tax even of permanent residents. Under the law once you have occupied a room for 30 days you are defined as a permanent resident and no tax is due on the room. Is she unaware of this fact or is tax being collected and retained by the hotel? Only an auditor will know.

Either way she, and you, might want to look over the following paying particular attention to 38.2 and to the definition of permanent resident in 38.3.

The rooms are ok and kept cleaner than many in the area. That said you will have no control over the AC because as the owner puts it "we have central air". What that means is she has the only thermostat and sets it to suit either her comfort or he wallet. I was working nights at Peach Bottom and waking up in the afternoons to a room temp of 76 to 78 degrees. The third time I addressed this with her I was called a liar. My travel alarm has a thermometer function and is what I was using to check the room temp. If you want to sweat enough that 2 minutes after showering you feel like you didn't, and be called a liar, is up to you.
