We heard so many good things about Shupps but found out that it was not what we expected. We specifically planned to go during a certain weekend extravaganza only to find out there was nothing available! Half of the tables were vacant!! Suffice it to say, we will not waste our time visiting again.

I have been buying and selling at Shupp's since 2002. I usually only go during the Spring Opener and Extravaganza weekends. I was there last weekend for the opener. I did well selling and buying I price my things to sell to dealers, which make up most of my buyers. I want to address the over pricing issue. While there are some dealers out there, that price their things too high. I know that there are just as many that are pricing their items to move. Especially in this economy, people are looking for deals. My brother and I will be there offering our goods this Saturday. We have our stuff priced to sell. I found some nice old Coleman lanterns last weekend for $5.00 each. The one is easily worth $150.00. You can still find things. So don't give up hope.

My husband and I used to drive over 4 hours to go to Shupps. It was a great place and packed with dealers. However the last couple times it was not even 1/2 full and the prices were sky high!Needless to say we aren't going this year or probably ever again.Too bad this happened it was such a unique place to shop. I can shop on EBay and get way better prices!

I've been going to Shupp's Grove every Spring Extravaganza since 2004. Mostly I buy books and paper to resell, and I've usually been able to do quite well buying there. However, as time goes on, I'm finding less and less deals. The dealers that are still left seem to compensate for fewer buyers by raising their prices even higher...which has the opposite effect of turning off the few buyers that are left. The economy is bad and it's affecting everyone - from the largest banks and auto makers to the poor guy trying to make a few bucks buying and selling old junk...er, antiques I mean. Disappointing. As with many other folks, it's a long drive for me to get to Shupp's Grove, and if I can't spend $500 or so, it's just not worth the trip. It used to be a no-brainer, every single year I'd block off the last Friday in April to go there. Now it's not such an easy decision. Heck, stuff is going so cheap on Ebay now, I'm actually able to buy stuff cheap enough to resell! Strange...but true.I suppose my review would be...if you're within a half hour or hour's drive to Shupp's Grove, go for it. It's a neat place, unlike any other flea market I've ever been to. If you're a dealer that lives hours away and you're going with the thought of buying a load of stuff to resell....hmm, think again.

I have a stand at shupp's grove for fifteen years .yes there are a few less dealers this year due to the fact that no one is buying much. You try to set up week after week .and you don't sell enought to pay for the rent.SAT-$15.00-SUN=$20.00.there are deals to be made all over the place.((people that say there are no deals to be made))don't have a clue to what they are looking at let alone what it's worth .to cheap to pay a little price for good antiques & collectables ***catman**

I went to Shupps many times over the past years.
The last couple times we went the merchandise was priced HIGH and the area wasn't even half filled with vendors!
I didn't find any "deals" as I had in previous years.
I do hope on our next visit to find the grove filled up again and the prices reasonable!
The prices were like NYC!! As a dealer who enjoyed finding items to be able to buy and sell it was a wasted trip for us! 5 hours away!

Shupps Grove is an outside vendor venue on the weekends, rain or shine. Don't get dressed up to go here. It's definitely casual and laid back atmosphere. You'll find every kind of dealer here from upscale stuff to items just pulled out of a Pennsylavania barn.

It's a definite must to go to if only to experience the Pennsylvania culture. Their motto is "the pickers market where real deals still happen" and this is definitely true.
