The pizza here is really one of a kind. Delicious in every way and a nice change from the typical neighborhood pizza shops. Always worth the drive. The service is just fine. If I have a complaint it's about the extra small parking spaces in the lot.

I was introduced to Picas Pizza about 10 years ago. It is exceptional. Not your traditional pizza. I drive one way 80 miles just to pick up a bunch of pizza's. I take orders from my friends and family. We freeze it in pieces. Just pop a piece in the toaster oven for about 6 / 7 minutes and it's just as good as if it's right out of their oven. Enjoy. Their parking for carry out can be a problem.

The pepperoni pizza is a must have! The mushroom pizza is also a good choice. Be sure to ask for the pizza well done. It's thin and the sauce is on top with the cheese underneath!

They make a great pizza pie. A little more expensive than other pizza places, but well worth it. Great parking lot, so that you don't have to worry about that.

This review is written by Conor O'Sullivan. I find Picas to be one of the best restaurants in Upper Darby. It is famous for its mouth watering pizza which is undeniably the best pizza ever. Their service is great and their other food is also very good. I recommend this restaurant for everyone.

Picas Italian Restaurant, a.k.a. Picas Pizza is a lovely restaurant that serves some of the greatest pizza around. Its lunch specials, and dinner specials and excellent. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome. They also have a wide variety of food on their menu, and also a child's menu. This is a great place for all occasions; after prom, wedding reception, or just to have a party in one of their two reception halls.

We have been to Pica's for so many celebrations - anniversaries, birthdays, rehearsal dinners...it's a great facility and the Italian food is wonderful. The pizza is really out of the ordinary....Pica's is probably the best restaurant in Upper Darby. Prices are mid-range.

I grew up looking forward to Pica's every friday night. Nothing beats it. After a pie I suggest walking down to Cawleys. Neil and George behind the bar will take care of you.
Please be prepared for the jump-off.

I went to a wedding event held here. I was impressed with the service and food. The wait staff is very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want. The food was spectacular. I would recommend anyone with a upcoming event to use these facilities. The one flaw is lack of parking.

Picas has the absolute best pizza that i have ever had!! the crust is nice and thin and the sauce is just the slightest bit sweet. The pizza is all upside down with the cheese below the sauce.. The other food which is offered is good however doesn't compare to the pizza.. I personaly perfer to stick with that.

I used to go there all the time as a kid, and loved it, Im 30 now, and recently my freinds and I started going again. We had one or two acceptable meals, the scallops were good enough to come back for, but our last meal was insane, The waitress took forever to even acknowledge us, let alone bring drinks, we never got bread, we waited 25 minutes for the wrong pizza to come out, and she argued with us about what we ordered. My scallops were still good, and luckily the next correct pizza only took maybe 7 minutes to come out, the place was not busy at all. The table nearest to us had regulars and the waitresses were sitting with them the whole time joking and laughing while we didnt get drink refills, asked for desert orders and had to wait for a check.

We left no tip, understandably, and I work for tips, so I tip very well. The waitress chased us down in the parking lot and tried to flag down the car. We will never be going back.

Pros: creepy picture in lobby, decent scallops

Cons: fossilized, rude waitstaff, dated interior

Pica's pizza is probably my favorite. My favorites are the original, extra cheese, or pepperoni. Be prepared that it's not your typical pizza. It's square, with sauce on top (except extra cheese, which tops it with cheese). The pepperoni is large and thin, the kind you get at the deli counter. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. The other food is good, but the pizza is tops!!!

Pros: Pizza

Cons: The servers sometimes give a diner-like feel. Also, there is one that is really cranky. Most are friendly though.

Sleek, sophisticated; for a restaurant to truly seduce, it has to have all three ingredients. This and more, with a mouthwatering menu and a prime locale.

The seductive decor is warm and inviting (perfect for cozy couples and power execs alike) and great for that "just because" evening, celebrations or anything in between.

Signature dishes reflect the simple seasonings of Italy - Capesante, a warm dish of Seared Maine Diver Scallops, Braised Wild Mushrooms and Brown Butter-Truffle Vinaigrette and more.

Discovered Pica's in the late 50's and have been traveling far lately just to get a small mushroom pizza which is the best i've ever had. After moving to Southern Maryland i'd visit my sister and drive an hour out of the way to get a Pica's Pizza. Now i'm in Newark, Delaware and the trip up I-95 to the Blue Route is worth it because when i get to West Chester Pike I know what's down the road. 5 stars all the way.

Me and my family drive forty-five minutes for this pizza. It is what I would consider unconventional in that it is square, and heavy on the sauce, but it is fantastic! Have not tried everything in the city, but there is none better in the western burbs or the Jersey shore! We eat a lot of pizza, and this is one you can't beat.

Cons: None that comes to mind.

Was not impressed at all. Seems too generic. Dont get me wrong it was ok, but their are many more pizza laces out there that deserve top billing.

I'm also a Philly native who now lives in Okinawa, Japan (Husband is USMC). I'm soon to return home and all I can think about besides family is biting into a hot piece of Pica's pizza. I love Pica's so much I actually had my mother freeze a pizza and fly it here when she came over to visit. It was good but not the same. I can't wait to get home to share a good pizza with family.

I visited Pica's after reading the article that showed it was voted the best pizza in the Philadelphia area.

The pizza was bland, it had no flavor. It was partially burnt and had an aftertaste that reminded me of the one you would get from frozen pizza. The dough was flat and rubbery.

Unfortunately, I expressed my opinion when the waitress me about my experience. Without my asking for it, she brought the manager to our table. This gentleman was very polite. Even though I did not ask for anything, this gentleman offered to subtract the prize of the pizza from the tab. I accepted and thought it very considerate and becoming of an established restaurant.

Sorry to say this wasn't the end of it. A few seconds after the manager left, a person that claimed to be the owner's daughter and who was working the reservations and customer greetings, came to our table and questioned me on my appreciation of the pizza.

She started to argue about the importance of my opinion compared to the thousands that made this the top choice for pizza in Philadelphia. SHE EVEN WENT AS FAR AS SUGGESTING THAT IF I DIDN'T LIKE IT WHY WOULD I EAT IT? This person didn't even give me an opportunity to answer... she rushed out after making me feel as uncomfortable as I have been in my entire life at any food serving location. I felt even worst than I used to feel at my Catholic School's cafeteria!!! I understand taking pride in what you do but confronting and trying to argue with a paying customer is beyond my understanding.

Since I did not have a chance to answer the lady, I'm using this venue to answer her rude remark:
I love Pizza and I will drive for a while to find a good one and after driving for a while, even if it's not the best, I will try to enjoy it and yes, hunger will make me eat it...... at least most of the time.

If you visit Pica's please keep your opinions to yourself if you want to avoid being harassed even as you are paying.

I am also a Philly native, I was actually born in Upper Darby but lived in Glen Mills, and now I am in Phoenix AZ. Every summer I go back to Philly and as soon as I am off the plane I head over to Pica's! I always get the large pizza, because I like the sauce on top, with green peppers and onions. It is by far what I think of when I want pizza. I can not wait until next time!

Like other reviewers, I am away from home & miss my Pica's tremendously! The square pie, the cheese that is not too greasy or overpowing, the sauce...the pizza is just great! My personal faves are sausage, extra sauce, well done & green pepper, extra sauce, well done. I only wish I weren't 3000 miles away right now!

Don't be fooled by reviews that may categorize Pica's as a Pizza place... it is a quality restaurant with exceptional food (fresh pasta, terrific sauce, good wine). The waitresses are warm and friendly, and the ambience is just right. (And judging from the number of diners who DO order the pizza - it must be pretty good, too!)

This place has been a neighborhood landmark. When you say, "I live near Pica's" immediately you get the respose, "oh, yeah. I know where that is. I love their pizza!" My family lives all across the country. When we talk on the phone, I tease them and tell them that I'm eating Pica's pizza. They all say that it is the one thing that they miss the most about home. When family fly to visit, we don't cook a big family meal. We order PICA's PIZZA!

I have been a patron of PICAS for over 30 years. My Mother before that ( West Philadelphia location. ) In that time, I can contribute 4 inches of my waist line alone to PICAS unique square pizza (extra cheese w/pepp is my favorite.) PICAS Italian dinners are as equally outstanding. Gnocchi w/ Mozzarella cheese smothered on top, fresh hot bread and roasted peppers w/ side of hot sausage, leave room for a slice of cheese cake!!

Awesome Pizza from a family run restaurant. Pizza is cripsy and just thick enough. plus the sauce has a little kick that makes you just can't get enough. There's nothing like it in the world. A very unique pie which I think is made by using Italian dough equipment that was imported by the owner.

Awesome Pizza from a family run restaurant. Pizza is cripsy and just thick enough. plus the sauce has a little kick that makes you just can't get enough. There's nothing like it in the world. A very unique pie which I think is made by using Italian dough equipment that was imported by the owner.

Pros: Great pizza, Great serviuce

.

They have the best pizza, and the best service that I have ever seen.

My girlfriend lives in Philly and I live in DC. She made me try Pica's pizza and let me tell you...I'm from NY originally, home of the WORLD'S best pizza, and Pica's "cheese-on-bottom-sauce-on-top" combination is unbelievable! Soooo good! Nothing cures hunger like a Pica's Pizza. I swear I don't work for them. I've only had it once and I'm hoping to have it again when I go up there this weekend. It's worth the two-hour drive!

Pros: Delicious, Inexpensive, Delicious

Cons: Not a lot of parking

This possibly is the best pizza ever. It is not a regular pizza if that is what your looking for. It is the originator of the square upside-down pizza. I love it and I always get a small round pepperoni pizza also. I have been eatting Picca's since I was young girl who lived in the neighborhood.

After growing up in an Italian neighborhood of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Pica's pizza tastes like cardboard. Try Reviello's or Salerno's in Old Forge Pennsylvania. That's pizza. Just because it's a small town doesn't mean it doesn't have the best pizza.
