Both are seriously dry and gross! Bad service too. They also have a weird texture. The cake had a "bread" texture and the cookies were just hard.

Beautiful cake, but it has what I call "Crisco icing." There's a greasy, slick feeling on your tongue and roof of your mouth. Not totally pleasant. Also, the cake is so dry and crumbly. Either it was overbaked or frozen. You shouldn't have to "chase" down crumbs to be able to eat your cake. Thankfully, I didn't pay for this cake or I would have been disappointed. I will always go to either Paddy Cake or Oakmont Bakery. I have NEVER had anything but the BEST cakes from both of them. Even Giant Eagle cakes beat this one.

I have to say that I love the cakes at the Lincoln Bakery, but their staff is RUDE. They could care less about you being there, don't even ask for something that might "put them out". They have a ticket machine and a sign on the window saying that you MUST take a ticket, yet they don't run the ticket counter, so what's the point? I lightly said something to the staff, and they were insensed that I bring it up. Don't like the staff, never have liked the staff, and I have been going there over 15 years. Sadly, the owner obviously doesn't care that his staff is offensive, as he allows it. I still go there, because I love the cakes, but I am always looking for another bakery to replace them for specialty cakes. I will change in a heartbeat, and give my business to someone that respects their customers, and is glad that I shop there.

I just want to say that the quality of the baked goods at Lincoln Bakery has gone down hill the past few years. Their cakes are so dry anymore. My husband brought some rolls home one day and they were hard. He used to stop there everyday after work and now he stops maybe once every couple of months. They also need to work on getting better help to wait on you. You go in and they either talk too much to you about their personal life, they talk to each other while waiting on you or they don't say anything to you and makes you feel like your imposing on them. I would love to have the old Lincoln Bakery back. Unfortunately they have no other bakery to contend with, so they don't really care.

My daughter is getting married and the venue uses Lincoln Bakery for the wedding cakes. We made an appointment for a tasting when we called the day before to confirm, they said we cancelled! They said we could pick up the cakes for tasting. That was fine...only when we got home, they gave us the wrong cakes! When we called and told them of the error, they said it was our fault because we cancelled!!! Then a lady was in the background screaming if we don't return the cakes, she'd charge us for our samples! They are ignorant and BTW, their icing tasted like Crisco! It was hard to wash off my hands and left a bad taste in our mouths. Needless to say, we will be going to Oakmont Bakery for a quality product!

We got married May 12, 2007, I never heard of your bakery but as one of our gifts, our Matron of Honor bought our cake, When I say at the wedding we only had the piece that you share with your spouse, thats all. But one year we took that cake out the freezer and I just knew it would be freezer burnt and nasty, that was the most moist and delicious tasting cake we ever had, keep up the good work, Thank you making our day and 1st anniversary awesome

I am getting married in aug of 2010 and i have looked everywhere you can think of for wedding cakes. the prices are to high and the quality is just horriable. taste and apperance. yukky. The first time i went in to lincoln bakery i thought the prices wer not that resonable but then the second time i went in and looked about after the holidays they where fine. Me and my hunny decided we wanted to get our wedding cake made there because the cake was so moist and well decorated. the icing was not to sweet or sugery. it was excellent. thank you lincoln. i cant not wait to get my cake for the wedding. oh and the price range is 2.50 a slice for anyone who is looking,. they make them by the slice but they are tiered.

On 2/17/10, I ordered a cake for one of my co-workers who is leaving for Army deployment on 2/19/10. Naturally, Lincoln Bakery needed a 48 hour advance. This order was unique because it was 1/2 a sheet cake, double-layered, with the US Army logo designed, by hand, in icing. When I got to work 2/17, I learned that my co-worker was being deployed a day early and his last vist to our office would be 2/18/10. I immediately called Lincoln Bakery and asked if the cake could be done within 24 hours. Given the special order, I was not confident they would be able to work with me and was told they would call me back. Within 5 minutes, I was contacted and told that the Baker would be happy to expedite my order and help me out. I was shocked. Even though my coworker is serving his country, Lincoln Bakery is still running a business. Because of their excellent quality, they are always busy and orders are scheduled well in advance. Not only did they exceed my expectations by expediting the order, they also surpassed my expectations on quality. I was told by dozens of people that they had never seen a more beautiful cake. I gave Lincoln Bakery's phone number to 13 people this morning! The cake was beautiful and it tasted amazing. I have never had a bad product, or bad customer service, from Lincoln Bakery in Bellevue. I highly recommend them for your bakery needs!

I just recently had a chance to taste a birthday cake from Lincoln Bakery, and I have to say it was excellent. The cake was moist and the icing not too overpowering or sweet. Everyone raved about it and wanted to know the name of the bakery it came from. The appearance was beautiful. The writing and the abundance of roses were impressive.

Having enjoyed Lincoln Bakery for years, I suggested that my son and future daughter-in-law have a Wedding Cake tasting there. They spent the entire day taste-testing other bakeries in the Pittsburgh area. Of course they decided on Lincoln! The price was reasonable....the service was EXCELLENT....and the selection was more than they expected. On the wedding day, the CATERER (NOT Lincoln Bakers) mistakenly put the heavy cake topper on top of the cake. The 'first anniversary' layer was ruined! Even so, many, many people commented on how wonderful the cake, filling, and icing tasted. I was able to order the layer one year later for their 1-yr anniversary and was VERY PLEASED. It was just as gorgeous as the cascading roses were the day of the wedding. We order ALL of our celebratory and holiday baked goods from Lincoln Bakery and are always delighted.

Grew up in Bethel Park where Bethel Bakery is KING. They have the best best cakes in the world, but found Lincoln Bakery when I moved to the area. Their cake is not as good as Bethel, but their icing is comparable - that delicious buttercream...so good. They do also have an excellent cake decorator who is really an artist. Their cakes are not the standard floral and ugly writing type - the writing is gorgeous, the creativity is amazing. Got a diagonally cut rectangular cake for Father's Day that was decorated like a big chunk of swiss cheese with little grey, googley-eyed mice crawling out from the holes - it was adorable and everyone just loved it. It was presented on a rectangular board which left 1/2 of it exposed, but that is where they put the writing "Happy Father's Day to The Big Cheese". SO creative! I would highly recommend them for cakes. Their selection of cookies, breads, etc is pretty standard, but the cakes are worth the trip.

Recently bought a wedding cake at Lincoln Bakery, was very disappointed. Do not like icing so ordered the fresh strawberries for filling. There were only two strawberries a layer. Paid per piece for the filling, which I understand is a real bargain since I will be refunded a whopping .20 cents per person for 225 people ($45.00) to ruin the cake with no second chance to fix it. Don't even seem sorry. Would not recommend for your special day.

I grew up in this neighborhood and have tried many bakeries since this one and NOTHING compares!! I know live about 45 minutes away and still must drive down to Lincoln bakery for their delicious cakes. I especially must get the nut rolls they have in during Thanksgiving time! My mom and I haven't had Lincoln bakery in a couple years and we decided it was high time to get it again so I am getting us a Mother's Day cake from there! Can't wait to go pick it up, garaunteed I will buy at least one more to bring home and maybe freez it for later... I wish they could open up a place in Butler (they need a good it) so I could get it more often. :)

First of all...Whoever says anything but nice things about Lincoln Bakery has no idea what they are talking about. I used to work there about 10 years ago..was a huge fan then and am even a bigger fan now of EVERYTHING! Everything they make is absolutely wonderful. I have turned on so many people on to them just by having their cakes and other pastries at my family gatherings. I have 2 little boys now and would think nothing else but getting their birthday cakes from them. They have in the past given me nothing but beautiful cakes for my birthdays or baptisms. It may be a little higher priced than another bakery but you get what you pay for. Would you go to a higher priced restaurant and get a big mac..no you'd get a nice juicy steak!!!!

I'm not quite sure what was going on when the other reviewers were visiting this bakery, because this place has always provided me with a fantastic pastry able to delight everyone I was willing to share with. I visit Lincoln Bakery at least once per month to pick up cakes for birthdays and holidays and have seen some beautiful creations leaving their doors - most of them still warm, straight out of the oven. Their decorators must be required to take Calligraphy classes before starting, because the script with which they write on the cakes is sure to put any other bakery's messages to shame. At Christmas, they make numerous 3D cakes including the Grinch, Christmas trees, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and wrapped gift boxes - all for under $25! Their carrot cake is "to-die-for", and it has become a "must-have" at every deserving occasion. To spice up the average yellow or marble cake, the staff is always willing to add almond flavoring, and their chocolate icing always seems to hide a layer of butter cream for a wonderful, new taste. The place has been around for many, many years, as my co-worker remembers visiting to pick up cakes when her grandparents were still around. To sum it all up, I am obviously a fan - a big one. I can't wait to see what they come up with for my wedding. I have confidence that it will leave everyone raving, as usual.

My new next door neighbor lived in Bellevue all her life and loves this bakery. She raved so much about it that I had to try it for myself. I don't think there's anything in particular to write home about. There is a good selection of cookies and the like, and they taste pretty good. The cakes, though, BLAH! I thought the icing was way too sweet and the cake was so dry that even I (who hates to drink milk) was running to get a tall glass to get rid of the awful taste. I didn't have any problems with the staff, as another reviewer had, but I still would be taking my business somewhere else.

The Lincoln Bakery in Bellevue, Pennsylvania has beautiful-looking pasteries but looks can be deceiving. Although the cakes are beautifully decorated to the finest detail, the taste leaves much to be desired. The staff will usually leave a bad taste in your mouth as well. They are often short and rude to customers and they make customers feel like a bother.

I have been eating at Lincoln Bakery since I was a toddler. I have recently tried Oakmont Bakery and Paddy-Cake and both do not measure up to Lincoln.

My favorite part of Lincoln is their icing. It isn't chalky or artificial tasting like Oakmont's but it's light, airy, and smooth.

Their cookies are one of my favorites. Moist and very chewy.

Nearly everything on their menu is good!

Everyone praises Oakmont Bakery but Lincoln deserves the top honors.

Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

I've had their cake before and frankly was not that impressed, but we're shopping for a wedding cake and thought we'd check out their samples, prices, options, etc. Called to make an appt and was told just to stop in - no appointment needed. So we stopped in - and were immediately told that they couldn't help us w/o an appointment , and they did not care that i had called to try to make an appt and was told it was not necessary. they had a cancellation and told us they could see us in half an hour. so we waited, and when it was finally our turn, 40 mins later, we sat at the table to meet w/someone (the table was filthy btw - covered w/ icing and crumbs) but the woman came out and before even saying hello she groaned "well, if you had called to make an appointment....." and blamed us for their lack of preparedness - no apology, nothing like "sorry you were given inaccurate info - let's see what we can do" it was APPALLING! i have never been treated so rudely - this is the absolute worst customer service i have ever experienced! and their cakes are NOT good enough to warrant such an apathetic attitude towards their customers. I would highly recommend potomac (they were unbelievably friendly) or kribels, or ANY OTHER BAKERY over this overrated, awful place.

Purchased a wedding cake for May 31, 2008. Specified did not like icing so purchased the fresh strawberry filling. NOT WORTH IT. I had maybe two slices of strawberries on a layer & the rest icing. Very disappointed. Not what we expected at all. But we are getting a whopping $45.00 back, which they said was what we paid for the filling for 225 people. Even though to us it was not what we had ordered & there is no second chance to make it right.

Cons: Would not recommend for the price

I think their cakes are delicious. We live outside of the area but we visit for birthdays and special events. We always order our cakes from Lincoln. They are very affordable too, which is always a plus!

I lived in Bellevue all of my life. I now have moved out of town and wish that I could find a bakery that makes a cake like Lincoln. The icing is smooth and not too sweet. The cake is always moist. Every time I go home to Pittsburgh I need to get a Lincoln Bakery Cake, even if it isn't a special occasion. My husband laughs at me, but I don't care they are the best cakes I have ever tasted. Highly recommended

I grew up in Bellevue (and now live in MD), and I have not yet tasted a cake that is as "heavenly" as Lincoln Bakery cakes. Everytime I go to Bellevue to visit family, we make sure there's a reason to have a white cake with whippy icing. I would rave about these cakes, and my husband would just roll his eyes. Now that he's experienced them, he asks for a Lincoln Bakery cake everytime we go to Pittsburgh. I've looked high and low for a local bakery in Maryland, but none come close to Lincoln Bakery!

We chose Lincoln Bakery in 2003 at the suggestion of the owner of our reception hall (The Great Hall). We couldn't be more pleased with Lincoln Bakery's price, service, and delicious cake! We had a very specific design that we drew a prototype of and gave to them. They designed it EXACTLY to order down to the color of the tiny flowers on the vine design we created. Not only that, we requested fresh fruit on each layer (blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries). Lincoln Bakery gave us a much cheaper quote on the fruit than did other bakeries and they also gave us a cheaper overall cake price. The cake was amazingly moist and delectable! We received so many compliments from guests about how tasty our cake was, in addition to being beautiful. We would highly recommend them to anyone for any occasion!
