Dietrich's Meats & Country Str

The best meats I have ever tasted. Found it quite by accident. There was an advertisement for freshly ground sirloin, $2.49 a pound, big sign on the Rt 78. Took a chance and drove back to CT with over $2000.00 worth of meat, all carefully packed by the family employees. Hotdogs from heaven, stripped beef tenderloin, like butter!! Homemade sausage, sooo good. They tell you how to cook it. They are featured in cook books and magazines. Mrs. Dietrich is marvelous as are her grandchildren. You feel it is expensive until you cook it. Good meat is actually less expensive, at least Dietrich's is. Buying more complete pieces is less expensive. They cut, tie and pack. Quarter sides of meats. Go home and freeze it. You will find yourself looking for excuses to return. I know I am. Pulled Pork! Wonderful all. Buy entire pieces.

One of the best country stores you will ever find. They process their own meats on premises and the selection of cured and smoked meats is incredible. Lot's of free samples. The Scrapple is the best any where. They also sell wonderful baked goods, the best pies of unusual varieties such as Shoo Fly and Black Walnut.

Good size country store stocked with mainly Pennsylvania Dutch products. Smoke own meats on premises. Small samples available of ma any products. It is all great. Easy access of I-78. NO Credit Cards! They do not seem happy if you even ask. Prices are not posted and it is not a bargain.
