Despite Sweat's 5:00AM opening time, it is a bad gym option for morning gym-goers. Sweat has a policy (yes, I discussed it with the manager) of cleaning the showers and locker rooms between 6 to 7:00AM. The cleaning person is a man, no-less, so the locker rooms are unusable during that time. Sweat is unwilling to even consider moving their cleaning schedule to the late evening hours (such as 10-11:00PM).
I am glad I signed up for the 7-day trial. At least I didn't have to find out how stupid their policy is while paying for it. It's a shame, the gym was otherwise nice.

This place is a SCAM! Staff is nice initially and then becomes rude once they have your $$$. Don't be fooled, these people are not legit. The place is less crowded, and you might think it is worth it. However, when you try to quit, as everyone eventually does, they will rock you with fees out the ying-yang. And you will question if these are the same people who smile at you everyday.

Manayunk location - I totally agree the rude customer service, especially the miserable person who picks up the phone during the early hours! He acts like you're wasting his time and is VERY quick to interrupt you.....not to mention he mumbles through his sentences. I know the exact guy and he should just stick to vaccuuming the floors. I guess I'd be miserable too if that was my career.

After visiting all the sweat gyms in Philly, I have always wondered why the Manayunk gym has the least amenities? The bikes suck, the classes are out dated, and the TV's dont even off ESPN? You pay nearly $60/month and I feel you dont get your money's worth. I would suggest LA Fitness, even though I have been a member there. All the other Sweat gyms have so much more to offer. No pool, out dated classes, no ESPN, no ESPN? really? Lack of stationary bikes, treadmills, and weight equipment.

I'm trying my "free week" trial at the new Sweat Gym in King of Prussia, and so far, so good! There are some failings that I think are probably common in a new, just opened gym. It's very quiet, there's not a lot of classes or TV channels on the cardio theater yet, and the juice bar is still a few months from opening, but on the other hand, the people are SO NICE, the gym is sparkling clean, and all of the equipment I've used is brand new and great quality.
I would love to see a second set of shower curtains to make for more private changing areas, and it would be great to have some fans in the cardio area, but so far I think I'll definitely be signing up.
For the girl with the internet problem ... I work for a web company and can tell you that happens often. I would hesitate in judging any company too harshly for occasional web disturbances.

I go to the Center City location, and I absolutely love it. The staff is friendly, the equipment is clean, and the classes are wonderful. (and the website always works... this morning was the first time i have ever encountered a problem loading the page) I would recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to stay healthy and fit.

I wanted to investigate the facility in KOP, however, I could not even access the www.sweatfitness.com web site!! There is a serious error that causes failure. This is really disappointing and casts doubts on whether this is even worth looking into.

I have to agree with those of you who commented on the rude manager at the Queen Village location, but I found nearly all the other staff members to be friendly and helpful. I like the classes, everyone is very welcoming. The people in the wednesday evening boxing class are a little territorial, but I find the early morning classes to be great. When I was pregnant everyone was very kind and always asked if I needed anything. After the baby, they always asked how he was doing, and I did bring him in a few times and they were very friendly.
I think the price is just fine compared to other gyms, and I've also been to the South Philly location which has all new equipment, great for the money! Finally, I found to be cleaner than PSC, so all around I am happy with Sweat!

I see that there are many complaints about some of the Sweat locations. I have only attended the Center City location for the past two years and love it. I've taken a variety of classes (my favorite is Wednesday night spinning) and have taken advantage of the pool. Please know that not all of the front desk and personal trainers are rude, in fact, at center city, they are all quite helpful.

I just joined in the last week and I love it.
Upon entering Center City location, I was greeted by a very pleasant, energetic young woman who was interested in talking to me and helpful to the point of inspiring! She assessed where I was and what I needed--tour? no. Yoga class starting in a few minutes? Yes!
I jumped right in and found the class members and especially the instructor friendly and not at all yoga snobby. (This is gym yoga so it *is* admittedly a different experience than studio yoga--the class before was some kind of music-pumping cardio and then we rushed right in, lots of chit chat. So you can't expect gym yoga to be the quiet serene spiritual experience you might get at your favorite studio.) But you learn something from everyone and this instructor had great descriptions of the asanas and a wonderful spirit about her.
I've been going to the Old City Sweat a few times and though haven't yet found anyone as engaging as D., everyone has been polite. The facility is nice, clean and not overly crowded.
I'm pleased to have started there and am looking forward to checking out the other locations.

I am pretty blown away by the high school-ish behavior I've seen at the Queen Village location. The eye-rolling, the standing around and gossiping, etc. And the worst offender, a woman with longish brown hair, might be a "manager"! She is very rude and unpleasant; don't bother her for anything as strenuous as reaching for headphones. That said, I LOVE the guy who manages the new Old City location and the gym is brand-new and gorgeous. The other employees are pleasant too. The Fitler Square location is run down and always very humid but employees are nice. Center City workers are condescending and not very pleasant. Stick with Old City.

Walked in and walked right out. You would think that if you have a job at the front desk you would be required to have some sort of customer service training (or at least they should fake it) I have to tell you that I was floored by how rude this person was to me. I hope they understand that people walking into a gym for the first time are usually a bit intimidated, so they should probably invest some time in training. Here are some tips - when a prospective customer walks in ACKNOWLEDGE THEM- When they ask for information about the club: DON'T ROLL YOUR EYES AND START TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE. When they ask for classes/prices DON'T THROW THE BROCHURE AT THEM! last laugh on them - I already told 10 people that moved to the area not to even bother.

Wrote a review yesterday pertaining to how unprofessional and disappointing I found Sweat Gym, however I found that today it has been taken down as well as the other negative comments other individuals wrote.
Again, I found Sweat gym to be pricey, the management and personal trainers to be rude and later found out that most of them take illegal substances and share that freely with their clients and co-workers as I waited patiently to ask a manager/personal trainer a question.
At first glance Sweat Gym (Queen Village) seemed like the gym of my dreams, however now I regret purchasing the membership. I recommend looking else ware and find staff who are mature and healthy... who wants to be trained by individuals who are immature and clearly don't know what living a healthy lifestyle truely means.

If you commit to a year at this gym your monthly payments will be an automatically deducted $59, but if you opt to go Month-to-month, the payment is $69. The Manayunk and Center City locations are kept very clean and since I enjoy an early morning workout there are very few people there at this hour and if the cardio equipment is occupied, it frees up quickly. They have a great selection of classes and personal trainers available, although the personal trainers are actually quite expensive at a $60/1/2 hour rate which I found slightly high. Overall I enjoy this gym, but attend it merely out of convinience. The new Sweat on 14th and Arch actually has a pool, although I have not visited here yet.

This gm has everything you would want - new equipment, good class schedule, lot of tvs. Even during busy times you don't have to wait long for equipment. The crowd is primarily in the age groups of 20 and 30 something. very social scene!

This gym is great, it has tons of tv's, offers classes and is in one of the hottest spots in Philly. It has tons of cardio equipment and lots of weight machines and free weights. Very young and active and attractive crowd.

"This gym is the WORST in the whole city! Like so many ..."
