Totally agree about the rude counter person  4 Star Rating - Very good

I am pretty blown away by the high school-ish behavior I've seen at the Queen Village location. The eye-rolling, the standing around and gossiping, etc. And the worst offender, a woman with longish brown hair, might be a "manager"! She is very rude and unpleasant; don't bother her for anything as strenuous as reaching for headphones. That said, I LOVE the guy who manages the new Old City location and the gym is brand-new and gorgeous. The other employees are pleasant too. The Fitler Square location is run down and always very humid but employees are nice. Center City workers are condescending and not very pleasant. Stick with Old City.

Attitude at Sweat in Manayunk  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Walked in and walked right out. You would think that if you have a job at the front desk you would be required to have some sort of customer service training (or at least they should fake it) I have to tell you that I was floored by how rude this person was to me. I hope they understand that people walking into a gym for the first time are usually a bit intimidated, so they should probably invest some time in training. Here are some tips - when a prospective customer walks in ACKNOWLEDGE THEM- When they ask for information about the club: DON'T ROLL YOUR EYES AND START TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE. When they ask for classes/prices DON'T THROW THE BROCHURE AT THEM! last laugh on them - I already told 10 people that moved to the area not to even bother.

Don't waste your time or money  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Wrote a review yesterday pertaining to how unprofessional and disappointing I found Sweat Gym, however I found that today it has been taken down as well as the other negative comments other individuals wrote.

Again, I found Sweat gym to be pricey, the management and personal trainers to be rude and later found out that most of them take illegal substances and share that freely with their clients and co-workers as I waited patiently to ask a manager/personal trainer a question.

At first glance Sweat Gym (Queen Village) seemed like the gym of my dreams, however now I regret purchasing the membership. I recommend looking else ware and find staff who are mature and healthy... who wants to be trained by individuals who are immature and clearly don't know what living a healthy lifestyle truely means.

Good Gym, but still expensive  4 Star Rating - Very good

If you commit to a year at this gym your monthly payments will be an automatically deducted $59, but if you opt to go Month-to-month, the payment is $69. The Manayunk and Center City locations are kept very clean and since I enjoy an early morning workout there are very few people there at this hour and if the cardio equipment is occupied, it frees up quickly. They have a great selection of classes and personal trainers available, although the personal trainers are actually quite expensive at a $60/1/2 hour rate which I found slightly high. Overall I enjoy this gym, but attend it merely out of convinience. The new Sweat on 14th and Arch actually has a pool, although I have not visited here yet.

great manayunk gym  4 Star Rating - Very good

This gm has everything you would want - new equipment, good class schedule, lot of tvs. Even during busy times you don't have to wait long for equipment. The crowd is primarily in the age groups of 20 and 30 something. very social scene!

GREAT LOCAL GYM 5 Star Rating - World class

I joined Sweat Manayunk in Dec 06', after moving back to the Philly area from L.A.. I have worked out at a lot of different gyms my whole life. This is one of the best, most complete fitness centers I have ever been to. This gym offers the most amenities for your buck with group fitness included in the price. I mainly use the free weights, but sometimes take their yoga classes or spinning classes. The Gym is alway organized, and the staff is always helpfull and friendly. Great gym!

Pros: Precor freeweights, Yoga, Spinning, Clean, Organized.
Cons: None.

GREAT FITNESS CLUB! AWESOME GYM! 5 Star Rating - World class

I have worked out at other gyms in Philly and this one is by far the best. They offer so many different options for fitness. I bounce between the HammerStrength to the Freeweights to the machines. I top off my workout with either the Ergometer or the Stepmill. The facilities are immaculate. The weights are always well organized and accessable. Monday is my favorite, because they have a fun DJ.
Thank you SWEAT!!!!!

Pros: Modern gym...Awesome equipment....Attractive females
Cons: Wish they had a VERSACLIMBER.

WORKOUT AT SWEAT!!!!! 5 Star Rating - World class

I moved to Philly from NYC for business a year ago. I live in Manayunk and work in Center city. I had 2 gym memberships in NYC. One for the weights and machines; and one for the group fitness and spinning.
After moving to philly I was afraid that I would not be able to find a Gym like what I had in NYC. I initially tried out the Sweat Fitness in Manayunk by my house. It blew me away. First, 90% of there equipment is brand new. Second, the facility is immaculate including there locker rooms. What sold me was that they offer an all inclusive package of Icarian free weights/ machines, Precor treadmills and elyptical trainers, a room complete of Hammerstrength equipment, and a well rounded group fitness program which includes spinning. The best part of the membership is that it offers an all inclusive package. I can workout at any of the locations and participate in any of the group fitness without paying extra. It's all included in one price.
Sometimes, I workout at the Center City location after work.
I enjoy these gyms very much. They offer everything I look for in a membership. As long as I stay in Philly, I will remain a member of these Sweat.

Pros: Great atmosphere, equipment, cardio classes
Cons: Parking can be challenging at times.
