Excellent service and exceptional food. Staff extremely accommodating. The outside deck and patio overlooking the beautiful landscape and views of the lake are breathtaking! We are telling everyone we know about this "jewel" in NEPA!!

Have been here for various weddings. Each wedding has been excellent! A nice setting, good food, and good service. Nice outdoor landscape. If you plan on booking an event there, do so early because it gets booked very quickly.

I can tell you from experience that the wedding the first poster described was the bast package offered. The cheese/crudite table with the meatballs comes with the package. And the frozed pizza was the bride/groom decision. You get a list of the appetizers and they range from $1 person to $4 extra per person depending on what you get, I can tell you the pizza is in the $1pp range.
It looks like the host was pretty cheap in the entree selections.
Our wedding will be there in July, we're paying the extra money to have some nicer food, and feel it's worth the expense, because people are taking time out of their lives to spend it celebrating with us. The least we can offer them is a good meal.
The prices are FANTASTIC and the atmosphere is remarkable. I can't wait, and best of all, we have approximately 400 people invited, and I am confident that they will all be served promptly.

Marie is great and very professional, she knows what is the right way to do things.
I agree with the previous poster that if you spend more money, you get more. We are getting more because we're spending more money.
You can't beat this place in my eyes.

I have been to about a dozen weddings and multiple dinners at this establishment that range from better than that of the initial reviewer to fantastic!!! The difference between your review and mine is one thing. COST! This establishment prides itself on being able to accomodate individuals of varying socioeconomic status. The wedding you were reviewing, in NEPA, is probably 20-25$ a head - for a fantastic location - usually you pay this much JUST for the location (then the food costs add up from there!!!). Some people choose to have their wedding in a nice location even though they cannot afford to have amazing food (at twice the cost!). So, the answer to your review is only this, either the Montdale Country Club should limit itself to catering to only the wealthy.... or perhaps, if you need be showered with opulence, you should find yourself some more affluent friends????? I am having my wedding AT THE SAME LOCATION are we are having a charcuterie and artisinal cheese selection, bacon wrapped scallops, filet mignon, crab-stuffed shrimp and Grey Goose - feel free to stop by and then tell me if your review is the same.... I highly doubt it. As a fellow New Yorker, I assumed more of your knowledge base.... you get what you pay for!!!!!!!! :-)

attended a wedding, hors d'oeuvres were placed on a center table in the room....were scant, tiny frozen grade pizza pieces, tiny bowls for little meatballs, minimal fruit and veggies, crackers ,and for the crackers, two blocks of cheese you had to cut yourself! I had concern about all the hands on this block of cheese... Loaf of bread on each table left to be cut by someone's hands at the table ?!...and barely enough for the 9 individuals seated at our table. Salad was simple house salad, greens and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Rigatoni tasted like it had a tomato soup sauce over it. Roast beef and gravy were cafeteria grade, and breaded chicken was soggy with the same tomato soup sauce, accompanied by bland mashed potato and hard cooked carrots. The atmosphere of the outside landscaping and ball room gave an initial impression of grandeur with the chandeliers and wedding tables but it was evident when they started serving that their business was more like a warehouse..." in and out" for ongoing reception activities, quantity for their bottom line and not quality of product served. I assume this by the two other receptions going on at the same time. It's a nice clean "party" room, but for a qualilty dinner reception, I wouldn't recommend.

PROS: beautiful outside landscaping, beautiful large room
CONS: quality and quantity of food
