This used to be a great little hardware store, but the prices are increasing as the level of service is drastically decreasing. The store is in dire need of refurbishing. I would suggest the other hardware store in town, or making the drive to nearby Scranton.

The customer service at Gay's True Value hardware store has really gone downhill. I like to "shop local" and do so whenever I can, however, when I need something from a hardware store I make the trip to Scranton or Wilkes-Barre, because the service at Gay's is really not what it used to be. The store is not as clean as it was, and the cashiers are a bit on the snippy side at times. The clerks used to go out of their way to help customers, but now it is more of a "over there somehwere" constituting customer service.
