I REFERRED THIS PARTICULAR LOCKSMITH TO FRIENDS AS HE IS LOCAL. HOWEVER, THIS WAS MY FIRST & LAST EXPERIENCE. I AM IN REAL ESTATE & WILL BE SURE TO TELL NEW HOMEOWNERS ABOUT ANOTHER LOCAL LOCKSMITH. I WILL ALSO INFORM MY MOM'S GROUP IN

Fantastic. I had my purse stolen and lost my keys. This guy was over in ten minutes and had my door open in about one, no exaggeration. He was friendly professional and all around awesome. Highly recommend him if you're locked out.

now these are people who are probably moving to Fishtown from New York and have the audacity to say anything about attitude first off...secondly Yes! Us Fishtowners are upset about the sudden "migration" Taking our jobs Paying Rediculious Prices for Your Match Book homes, (Which by the way brought the Inner City to what was once a neighborhood that kids could play in with no worry so thanks), and basically putting most average income familys out of the neighborhood thier parents Parents grew up in so upset I would say thats an understatement. finally As for the Locksmith Who Trained myself at a very young age and basically gave me the Modest life i have now, He is the most knowledgeable Locksmith in dealing with the old style hardware which comprises maybe 60%-65% of The Greater Philadelphia area (particularly in Center City where most of you "yuppies"make a living hmmm) and too continue to go and help someone knowing theres a possibility you could get stiffed sounds pretty nice to me...so bottom line Locksmith On Wheels is a very reliable, knowledgeable and has been around longer tthan most of you

I had the guy come out to take a look at a bad striker on our door. He looked at it told and told me what was wrong.

He then informed me (for the first time - even though we had spoken on the phone on 3 different occasions) that there was a fee for him coming out to look at it.

I told him, that was the first I heard of any fee. He said, he had to be paid for his time and troubleshooting.

I asked him why he didn't mention it before he got here. He asked if I had people come out to look at problems around the house and not get paid.

I said, of course. It's called a free estimate. It happens quite often as far as I know. And if you were supposed to get paid, shouldn't you tell me before you arrive and do any work? What's to say, he wasn't going to ask for $500 to "troubleshoot"? He wanted $45, but the principle of the matter required me to say, "sorry, but there was no discussion of a fee beforehand".

That was that. I didn't pay. He left mad. And now I need a new locksmith.

I can see his side of it too. But when he said, "you people are all alike. I knew you were going to do this to me when I came out". I then said, "Well, if you supposedly knew I was going to do this, wouldn't it make even more sense to tell me UP FRONT, about any fees and charges"?

I bought a lock from this place to replace the non-working lock on a storm door. I live about a block away from the store so they offered to help. The person that helped me was somewhat rude (apparently didn't like that I was new to the neighborhood) and ended up charging me for a lock install. Which he didn't mention he was going to do beforehand.
