Grode Florist

Last week, I stopped in to Grode Floral for a bouquet of fresh flowers to bring to dinner at a friend's house and the price of the bouquet was extremely reasonable for all the flowers that I got. I was reminded of it today when I received a lovely thank you note from my friend that hosted the dinner. She seemed quite pleased with them. I was also quite impressed with the little gift shop within The Grode Floral Shop. It was filled with hand-painted items, silk florals, lovely pictures and many other crafts, which I was informed, are made by local crafters and artists. I am especially enjoying the hand-painted egg I purchased there along with a lovely pair of earrings. The egg was the perfect addition to my kitchen! I will certainly be back to seek out other treasures in your gift shop.

Ever since we moved to this area, my husband has been sending me flowers from Grode's for our "special occasions." I have NEVER been disappointed with the lovely floral arrangements and roses that I have received from Grode's. What always amazes me is how long the flowers last! And, my husband tells me he is equally impressed with their reasonable prices and friendly customer service. I thank the staff at Grode's (and my husband, of course) for all of the pleasure I have received from their beautiful arrangements!

Grode Florist took an order to arrange and deliver a large flower basket to a funeral home but the flowers never showed up. I was told they would be personally delivered by the person who took my order over the phone. I have not received an explanation as to why this happened. I completely regret calling this florist and am so embarrassed that my flower order was omitted from the funeral being that I am very closely related to the family who lost their loved one and my arrangement was to be used at the church as well.

Having worked for a florist in the past, I have a bit of an insider perspective. I spent $60 on an arrangement for my mom from here and was SO disappointed when I saw it. I asked for some roses to be incorporated and got the little spray roses that you might see on a prom corsage. I know they need to make a profit to stay in business, but this was disappointing.

I always Use Grode Florist to send flowers to my wife. They are by far the most reasonable priced florist in Erie. I also use them to send flowers to my clients and both my wife and my clients are always happy. The reason I am going out of my way to post this review is that the owner is always going above and beyond to make my order personal and beautiful...even to the point of delivering after hours. I have not used Grode florist myself but I saw the most gorgeous floral arrangement that came from there. It was sent to a friend, by a friend of hers, and arrived looking so fresh and beautiful. It was an arrangement done in all whites and I just couldn't believe how striking that was! I will surely use them in the future.

I thought they were very overpriced. The arrangement I purchased for my daughter-in-law was not cheap by any standards. It was sad to look at, and then they charged me an addtional $4 for a VERY small bow. Won't go back.
