I just recently (Sept, 2010) purchased a classic vehicle from Dave and his wife. He stated the car was an original 61,XXXmi car, not true. He stated in his ad that the car had no bond-o and that the car was never in a wreck, not true.

I have personally purchased several cars at Sports Car Gallery over the past TEN years and am extremely pleased. Many of my fellow car club members have also bought cars there and we all have found the quality of the cars to be top notch and the prices very fair (several thousand dollars below market value). Dave is a retired physician who is very knowledgeable and truly loves these old cars; and he does not sweet talk, pressure, or try to pursuade you to buy anything. We recently spent an entire day at Sports Car Gallery and every car that we looked at was something I would be proud to own and as nice as any in our club. Other classic car dealers we have visited on our club outings (including Mershons, Duffys, Rays, Future Classics, etc) do no have the same consistently high quality inventory and their prices were much higher for similar cars. I guess when you do business with the public there are always people that are never happy but I gotta say that Sports Car Gallery is tops in our book and I would recommend them over any other. This guy is more honest as anybody that you will ever do business with.
Cars either purchased by me or my fellow club members from Sports Car Gallery: 1964 Dodge Max Wedge, 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, 1969 Dodge Superbee, 1970 Dodge Superbee, 1967 Barracuda Formula S, 1970 Dart Swinger 340, 1971 Plymouth Duster 340, 1964 Impala SS409, 1966 Chevelle SS396, 1969 Chevelle SS396, 1967 Buick GS400, 1969 Olds 442, 1970 Olds 442, 1963 Corvette, 1969 Corvette, 1967 Ford Mustang, 1969 Mach 1, 1970 Torino 429 Cobra - I think I know what I am talking about!

Pros: Top quality selection and top quality classic cars

Cons: None

I, along with many others have been mislead by Mr. David Tomchik and his unscrupulous dealings. I purchased a 1966 Plymouth Satellite from this place and it was nowhere near as advertised when it arrived. Full of bondo, different motor than advertised. Gauges didn't work. Clutch slipped. Floor was rusty and patched by an amatuer at best. I have been involved in legal wranglings with them the last 4 years along with others. A friend of mine already had 1 court date where Mr. Tomchik told bold faced lies right on the stand in front of the judge. He is quite a piece of work. I have been into classic cars for many years and know what's what. I wouldn't by a bicycle from this guy. Especially over the internet. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better check with the PABBB on this dealer. The Sports Car Gallery has a bad reputation for misleading potential buyers and has several pending lawsuits. Search online as well before looking any further.

Dave doesn't sell quality cars and only cares about making a profit. I bought a 72 Olds 442, 4 speed transmission numbers matching car with under 29,000 original miles in 2006. After I bought the car, I found out it was originally an automatic. I was never told this by the dealer. The tranny that came with the car when I bought it last year failed after less than 450 miles needing to be completely rebuilt. It was a Muncie M20 out of a 1967 Buick. The correct manual transmission for a 1972 442 was a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed. Whoever installed the incorrect transmission in this car had cut the frame rails to accept the tranny support. Sports Car Gallery also sold the car without the proper safety equipment, the Front Seat Belt Retractors had been removed. He refused to provide or pay for them as he claimed it was an "As Is Purchase" and he bought it this way. In PA, Cars are supposed to be inspected prior to being registered. It was not but did receive temporary PA tags. I contacted the Pennsylvania State Police but was told it was not under their jurisdiction to enforce dealers on safety equipment issues and would need to get an attorney to do something about it. To date, this car will cost me an additional $1,400 just to get it to drive again. I paid $24,000 for a Class 3+ vehicle. When I e-mailed Dave, this was his response:

"SPORTS CAR to me Nov 28 (1 day ago)

Paul, I am sorry that you do not like the car. We hope that you and yours have a nice holiday. Dave"

DON'T BUY FROM THE SPORTS CAR GALLERY! The cars look good but he's good at polishing trash.
