We had lunch here on Saturday afternoon. Service wasn't great, the waitress was kind of rushing us. We waited rather long periods of time for her to check on us, I hate when I eat out and my glass/coffee cup stays empty for unreasonable

I have had dinner there three times over the past ten years. The last time was tonight (not by my choice). The salad was good. The dinner, not so much.Their meats are definitely not high quality. Actually none of the food I had was good.

Thought it was pretty good, though never excellent in many previous visits. Their coffee always sucks. Won't be back, however, after they double charged me for a "double cappuccino". I thought it was a mistake but they were rude and

This is a good place to go for good food, whether you want a sandwich, a full course meal, or the buffet. The service is pleasant and the food is better than what you might expect diner food to be.

Since leaving New Jersey, my wife, son and I have been at a loss for a decent local diner. Well, it looks like we finally found one. The premises of the West Chester Diner are immaculate and a trifle on the gaudy side, as you would expect any good diner to be. The booths are spacious and the background noise never rises to the level of a din, in spite of the crowds. Even the restrooms were well maintained.

The West Chester's menu is enormous, and peppered with Greek dishes the likes of which we haven't seen since leaving Jersey. They have an excellent salad bar (although it took them forever to replace a simple serving bowl of iceburg lettuce -- a forgiveable lapse, given the number of people at the restaurant on a busy Saturday night). The soups at the salad bar were good and hearty, and the help-yourself bread pudding -- made with what seems to be a slightly modified and very sweet challah bread, served as the house loaf -- was truly delicious.

Our waiter, Kamal, was courteous, professional and remarkably attentive, even though he was tending to a station of more than half a dozen large tables. My wife had a very good piece of sole which was as fresh as it was tender -- seasoned to perfection, and cooked just right. I ordered chicken marsala and spaghetti, which was quite good, although slightly overbreaded and tending toward fried -- my only cavil. Our nine-year-old son, who lives on comfort food (like every other nine-year-old) gave the mozarella sticks and cheeseburger two thumbs up.

The coffee was delicious, and while we ogled the dessert freezer, which was full of cakes and pies and tortes of varying sizes and caloric immensities, we abstained, this time. A good diner is only as good as the range and quality of its dessert offerings. The West Chester Diner doesn't disappoint.

One important heads up: If you're journeying westward, the entrance to the lot is shared with a pizza joint currently undergoing renovation. If you drive too far (i.e., up to the West Chester Diner's sign) you'll overshoot the entrance to the lot, which isn't quite as large as you'd expect, given the size and seeming popularity of the restaurant. Here's hoping that they expand the lot, so that it's commensurate with the magnitude of their menu.

It's a diner true, but it's our favorite place to eat in the whole world. My daughter loves it, the staff is friendly and the food is always the best! HIGHLY recommended!!!

Pros: convenient, fast, fun

Cons: still has a smoking section (a neg for non-smokers)

.

The menu is big- a lot of specials for dinner. Eeryone is bound to find a favorite. Dinner entrees come with salad and soup bar. Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular...just what you'd expect.
