I highly recommend Dr. Xu. A friend of mine went to him for incredibly painful plantar fascitis in both feet. At her first visit, she crawled up the flight of stairs to his office. When she left, she walked down the stairs. All of her friends with similar problems promptly went to him for treatment and had similar results. I went to him with blocked ear canals on both sides. While he worked on them, they both opened up. Absolutely the only drawback to seeing Dr. Xu is the fact that his office is up a flight of stairs, which presents a challege for someone with knee problems, or similar disability. Currently, he charges $60 for the first visit with interview, and $50 for later visits. He never tells you to come more than you need to, and does not try to lock his patients into a maintainance program.

Word of mouth brings most people to this busy Chinese doctor's office. Dr. Xu is wonderful, skilled, relaxed & patient. He's a 5th generation Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) doctor who uses a mix of acupuncture, herbs, massage, & heat to treat patients for various disorders. Plan to spend upwards of an hour with him on your first visit. Know that his interest is in treating the whole body, rather than your symptoms. And prepare to feel wonderful afterwards. Most sessions cost around $40-50, but Dr. Xu has no problem offering patients a sliding scale if they can't afford the fees. Amazingly, he didn't charge me for my 1st few visits (I didn't have a job at the time), & when I later tried to pay him, he declined, saying it wasn't necessary. He's a wonderful doctor who's in this field for all the right reasons.
