Absolutely excellent selection and the owner is a true gem! I went in to look at a new watch- I walked out with three! His prices are fair, inventory is stunning to say the least and his knowledge is expansive! A must see in Philly!

I have had my nose pressed up against his window for years! Absolutely the finest collection of antique jewelry I have ever seen. I finally walked into the store one day, (tiny but jammed packed with goodies). Even though Richard knew that I was not in a position to buy, I found him to be friendly and cordial. Perhaps if people did not waste this man's time, you would find him more accommodating. You won't see this collection anywhere in Philadelphia or the Main Line. Looking forward to seeing both Richard and his lovely treasure chest again!

He is not very polite and he overcharges. To his credit he did repair a watch for me last year--it cost at least $65.00 and the watch itself probably only cost me about $100 when I bought it but it is quite original so I didn't mind as long as it was fixed. He did a good job on that. However, recently I brought in two watches that needed batteries. One of them I had planned to buy a battery for, and could not find it in the stores. The other I just wanted him to look at it. He was rude to his assistant in my presence and did not give me the opportunity to explain what I wanted. He put batteries in both watches (I would have preferred to buy the batteries and put them in myself--he gave me that option before but not this time) and charged me $27 for that. The batteries cost about $4.00 each in the stores (and probably cost him about $2.00 each). He then would not accept American Express even though it is on the door he accepts it, and I had to pay with a different credit card. He rounded up to $30.00 and gave me back 3.00 in cash saying that he rounded up for tax purposes. I never heard of this before.

I think he knows what to do with jewelry but his demeanor is very unprofessional and rude. I was embarrassed that he would insult his assistant like that in front of a customer. He should hire someone who can put a friendly face in the store. I won't be back.

I was charged $100. for a piece of PLASTIC, that I was lead to believe was glass. The crystal face of my watch broke and he replaced it with a piece of PLASTIC!!!!!! He NEVER said this is a PLASTIC face. He said he could not find the same type of crystal to replace the face. Not a nice way to do business. You should have said you used PLASTIC!!! I could have gone to the mall and had it replaced. Cons: Takes advantage of inexperienced jewelry owners

I am getting married in 1 month and brought in my 14k white-gold wedding band with 7 smaller diamonds to be resized and engraved. Instead of measuring my finger, Richard Kenneth measured my engagement ring (sized 5.25). I was a little apprehensive so asked I him ??Are you sure you don??t want to measure my finger?? as to which Richard arrogantly replied ??I??ve been doing this for 20 years.? He told me the ring will be ready in 2 weeks and I pre-paid $75 for his services. I came back 2 weeks later to pick up my ring. The ring was filthy, it was too big (he resized it to 5.5), the engraving looked as if a blind man did it and it had indentations around the edges. I pointed out my dissatisfaction to Richard and the carelessness with which my sentimental piece of jewelry was handled. I asked why he would size my wedding band to a size larger than my engagement ring and asked him to measure my actual finger. Richard was becoming very hostile; however he measured my finger and confirmed that my finger is actually a size 5! After he realized he made a mistake and at this point, insulted me many times, he told me that he no longer wants to deal with me and will not fix the ring. I asked him to refund my money to which he said absolutely not and told me I can dispute the charges myself with my credit card company. I have never been treated like this by a merchant in my entire life. Richard Kenneth is a terrible businessman. The kind which, when faced with a problem, turns his face the other way and refuses to own up to his mistakes. Please stay away from this store for your own peace of mind.

I'm reminded of the adventure tale of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" when I buzzed into this tiny little Jewelry store it's filled with REAL antiques, jewelry and collectibles.

Richard has very fine gold watches... he's been in that location for years now.
