Wonderful!

by Anonymous

I have been using HAH for 3 years, first for my cat, Rat, and now also, for my 15 month old puppy, Brewer. The staff there is wonderful - from Cindy at the front desk who spoils my boys with yummy treats, to all of the techs, and especially Dr. Hodgens. She's known Brewer since he was 8 weeks old, and has always been thorough, and professional, calling to check on him repeatedly when he presented early on with a case of giardia. Recently, Brew took a topple down the stairs and hurt his shoulder. An appointment was scheduled for late the following day, but when he got up the next morning, he was on three legs. I called in a panic, and Dr. Hodgens returned my call promptly. Though she was in surgery all morning, she fit him in early (probably on her lunch time) and x-rayed both front legs to note any anomalies. She was patient with all of my questions and reservations, and has never been anything but wonderful to my animals. Brewer LOVES her and all of the staff at HAH - I wouldn't bring my guys anywhere else:)

Outstanding

by danielle r.

Recently My dog was laid to rest at the havertown animal hospital, we have been taking Samson there since he was a pup and were clients for 14 years. The new ownership is outstanding. Our interaction with the staff and Dr. Hodgens has been great. Our family is full of animal lovers where our dogs are treated like children and spoiled terribly, it was great to have people taking care of our pets the way we spoil and love them. The past few months due to old age samson was struggling with joint aches and everyday pain, the Dr. was not hesitant at all to quickly perscribe him something to make him more comfortable for his last few months, When samson was put to rest the staff was sympathetic and professional beyond standards. They even sent flowers the next morning to inform the family that we were in their thoughts. I am nothing but grateful to know that my beloved pets are in the care of animal lovers and professionals who generally care about their patients as much as the family of them. They made sure that Samson was comfortable and calm throughout his last few months with us, and even the night he was laid to rest. They even were willing to make accomadations to have him put to sleep in our own home for his comfort. it ended up that we took him in last minute due to his suffering, but he was so comfortable in the hands of the Havertown Animal Hospital that it is comforting to us as we struggle through his loss that he was in the hands of people whom he trusted and whom loved him as we did. If you are looking for a place to take your pets I would without question recommend the HAH.

Thank You!

by Anonymous

I went to HAH under sad circumstances. I had to place my beloved dog of seventeen years to rest. The office was kind and able to take us right away. When we arrived the secretary greeted and assisted us immediately to an available room so my dog could have some dignity and I could hide my grieving face. I was alone, which was rough, so I did not want to hear the heroic options or alternatives one might receive when they are in this situation. No questions, no underlining remarks, just pure sympathy and professionalism. The time they gave me with her and the procedure was PERFECT! I could have not asked for a more peaceful ending to my dog's long life. (It was comforting to hear sobs from the tech. and Dr. knowing they have a heart.)
Thank you HAH for everything.

TERRIBLE - STAY AWAY - The positive reviews must be from their staff!!!

by David R.

I moved to the area recently and brought my pet here based on the recent reviews. These must have been written by the owner and/or staff of this place because there is NO WAY a real customer would have given this place a high rating after taking their pet there. The veterinary service my pet received was terrible and the administrative staff is rude and unprofessional. Take my advice, if you want to protect your pet, STAY AWAY from this place and go elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Havertown animal hospital

by Jeffrey T.

I had a great experience with the staff and medicine provided at Havertown Animal Hospital with my dog. I was greeted immediately by Cindy, Heather played with and comforted my dog until Dr. Hodgen could see her. Dr. Hodgen was gentle and caring. I was pleased to notice immediately that the Hospital was under new ownership and that Heather is managing the hospital. I will return for care and am definitely going to move from my previous kennel that I board with while I travel. Thanks so much!

Highly Recommended

by Mark W.

I also agree with a previous reviewer that the new vet at Havertown Animal Hospital is great. We have been going to this facility for a couple of years and recently had to put down our cat. Once diagnosed with cancer Dr. Hodgson followed up with us by calling us ay home to see how our cat was. When it came time to say goodbye to our beloved cat, Dr. Hodgson was above and beyond great. She actually stayed late because my wife and I strongly requested that she be the one that perform the service, I think she was even supposed to be off or atleast be done at 5:00PM, she stayed for us until 7:00PM. She was compassionate and extremely understanding of what we were going through. I feel safe in saying that we will be bringing all of our pets to Havetown Animal Hospital strictly because that is where Dr. Hodgson practices.

"Left a bad tase in my mouth"

by Michael D.

Before it was Havertown animal Hospital it was owned my Dr. Hong "Delaware county animal hospital". I was taking my Cat there for 10 years. My cat was on a prescription diet. When Havertown Animal Hospital took over I went there to get my food. They would not sell it to me unless I took my cat in for a check up. I said just look at my cats records you will see that I have buying my food here the years. I left and got my food else where. Never went back and it looks like I made a right choice. I now have two new kittens and my Vet comes right to my house.

New ownership and much better

by Bob J.

I recently took my cat to the Havertown Animal Hospital and learned that they now have two new doctors and are under new ownership. The doctor I saw was Dr. Hodgen who is Australian. She was wonderful, performed a great exam of my cat and spent a great deal of time with me and she was informative and caring. She also followed up our visit with a call and appears to be very knowledgeable. I was very impressed with my visit.
The prices for the exam and blood work and stool check were very reasonable.

DO NOT GO HERE

by Johnathan R.

The head vet / owner of this greedy and unprofessional practice, Gia Croce, almost killed our pet. She is a terrible practitioner who misdiagnosed our pet and ended up costing us thousands of dollars. She also tries to coerce owners in a very agressive manner to subject their pets to fecal parasite exams ever few months which is ridiculous. She claims that it is the law, but no other vet around here who we have consulted with agrees. This woman insists that she administer a treatment for prevention (and then the owner administers one more treatment at home) every single time we've gone there. She also sends repeated post cards every few months telling owners that their pet is due for their parasite treatment which is bizarre. I asked other vets in the area about this and they all told me this is not acceptable practice and that she is doing it to fatten her profits. Also - her whole family seems to hang out and work there which is unprofessional. Her mother is the office manager and guards her daughter's financial interests fiercely, which I guess is why she is there. Lastly, she refused to release medical records to other vets, which is illegal. Do not go here.
