Reviews for Easter Seals

Ratings_icons Easter Seals is more than childcare, they are a family!

Mike H.

I have had the esteemed honor of being a volunteer with the Easter Seals family for the past six years. As such, I have witnessed the growth and development of many of our area youngsters. The new facility is a vast improvement on the former one, and has allowed for expansion of programs offered to better meet the needs of children and families of the Centre Region. In my six years of volunteering, I have had the privilege of standing alongside some of the hardest working, most dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate caregivers, teachers, support staff, fellow volunteers, board members, and parents this area has to offer. Easter Seals is not only an organization dedicated to meeting the educational and developmental needs of local children as dictated by state and federal laws, but an organization that is truly devoted to each child and one that cares about their individual growth and welfare. I am proud to be a part of the Easter Seals family, and applaud their continued successes and contributions to the Centre Region.

Ratings_icons Great center for ALL children

Brandy P.

I am the parent of an Easter Seals "alum"; my child attended Easter Seals for 3 years (and still returns each summer for camp!) My son has cerebral palsy and significant medical needs, but is a very bright little guy. We visited many preschools before enrolling our child at Easter Seals. We were so impressed that the staff at Easter Seals saw our child as a child first, not a disability and they treated him as they would any other child. The other kiddos at the center grew comfortable with our son and interacted quite well with him. The high expectations and caring approach of the staff along with the interactions with a variety of peers helped prepare my son for a regular kindergarten classroom in a local public school. We can't thank the staff at Easter Seals enough for all they've done for our child...and we plan to enroll our second child there as well!

Ratings_icons Easter Seals- A Wonderful Place to Learn and Grow

Sara B.

My son attended Easter Seals for two years. The center is an incredibly warm, safe environment for children, with and without disabilities, to learn and grow. We were so impressed by the love and care of the staff and families that we didn't want to leave when it was time to transition to Kindergarten! I couldn't have asked for a better school for my child. He learned so much with the guidance of the teachers and therapists and we felt so comfortable trusting our little boy in their care. I am so thankful for everything that Easter Seals did for our son! Anyone would be lucky to have the opportunity to enroll their child there.

Thank you for sharing your experience within our program. I feel I can speak for the therapists and classroom staff when I say that everyone adored working with your little man over the years and could not appreciate more all that you and your husband did to support his early educational experience within our program. Thank you! We miss seeing all of you.
Ratings_icons Caring Staff and Wonderful Facility

I have worked as a PCA for a few months now and I love going to work everyday! I have learned so much from working at Easter Seals and I love everyday of my job. The children are great and the staff does amazing things everyday to keep the children interactive. Everyday the kids are taught to play nicely with their friends. There are so many learning opportunities for children with and without special needs. The facility is very inviting for all children and the playground is getting better and better everyday, all the kids love the chance to go outside and play. The therapists know exactly what to do to meet the needs of each individual child. It is a great place to work and a wonderful child care provider for all kids!

Ratings_icons By Far The Best Daycare Facility

R D.

I have three children that attend Easter Seals. The director and employees of Easter Seals have been involved with the care of my children for the last six years. I have never had a day when I was unhappy with the quality of care offered at this day care center.

The center is very safe. All of the doors have locks and/or childproof mechanisms. They also have helmets and protective equipment for outdoor play. If a child rides a bus to and from school, there are specific staff members that get the kids onto and off of the buses safely. The child to staff ratio is very good so that they can ensure that all children get the attention that they deserve. The center is also very clean, and as a result my three children have only gotten sick a total of 2 or 3 times in the last six years.

There are entire areas dedicated to activities for both handicapped children and non-disabled children. They have three playground areas at the center that all of the children are able to utilize, including handicapped children.Easter Seals always goes above and beyond when it comes to providing activies. They have taken the kids to Arts Fest, Grange Fair, shopping, horseback riding, and even mini-golfing, in addition to many of the activities that they have on-site. All of the activities are age-appropriate and usually encourage learning.

You can tell when entering the center that the entire building is dedicated to each and every child that attends there,no matter what obstacles they may be facing. The staff at Easter Seals is very understanding and they are always eager to get my opinions about the center. They always strive to find the best solution possible for each and every individual when there are questions or concerns about my children and/or their behavior.

Before my kids attended Easter Seals I had no idea what good childcare really was.I have found that other childcare centers are sub-standard, they tend to see numbers instead of individuals. At Easter Seals they not only provide excellent early childhood education and childcare, they really and genuinely LOVE my children. I couldn't ask for anything better.

THANK-YOU TO THE SHANER'S WHO GRACIOUSLY DONATED MONEY TO BENEFIT THE BUILDING WHERE EASTER SEALS IS LOCATED.

Ratings_icons Patient caring staff and a wonderful facility

Stacy S.

As a relatively new employee at Easter Seals, as a PCA (Personal Care Assistant), I have been able to see first hand what an incredible center this truly is. The last few months I have worked with numerous teachers, therapists, and other PCA's, and am impressed with the warm and caring environment of Easter Seals. The teachers here are so patient and kind with each and every child. They are constantly thinking of new and inventive ways to not only teach the children here, but also make them smile and have fun. The director is very hands on, and is always there with a smile to greet the children, or help one who may need alittle extra attention that day. The therapist are so kind, and patient and never take any short cuts when it comes to their services. I am always able to find an adaptive bike or toy when needed for any special need a child may have. As funds are raised, our playground just keeps getting better and better, as does the new beautiful building. I found the way that Easter Seals incorporates Special needs children and children without the need for special services, very endearing. No one gets left out, whatever the activity is, the wonderful teachers always find a way to adapt it to include all the children in the class. If you are looking for a Child Care provider, or a pre-school for your child, consider Easter Seals, and come visit us!
