I cannot believe the mother of the 2-year-old dancer is for real!
Please, if your 2-3-4...year old is complaining about boredom perhaps it is because they watch too much TV or have other issues. I assure you, as a teacher of over 20 years, I too hear about being bored, but it is often a euphemism for something else not related to the subject at hand.

In my opinion the last review is wrong. Especially since the parent in this case is contradicting herself. Dance does take discipline and loyalty and a love of the art. As a dancer of over 22 years I can say that yes, the classes for pre school aged students does not change much from year to year, but you have to ask yourself more importantly, did my child improve? Is she/he learning and perfecting the fundamentals of dance? That is what I believe Dance Works has given my child even if it did take more than one year to understand... remember the word discipline.

When my 2 year old asked if she could dance like the pretty girls in the Nutcracker suite I had no idea where to begin. Like may I opened the phone book to look for dance studios close to our home. When I called Dance Works for the first time I was very impressed. Reasonable tuition rates, accommodating class schedules, hands on directors and teachers which should make dance works not only a place to teach my daughter the fundamentals of an art form, but also make them part of our family.

When we first began our relationship with this studio we were in love. now after season 2 is just about over we find that our child among a most others in her class no longer want to attend class.

The teacher is often absent, and the class is "boring" I find that the routine is mundane and needs to be made more exciting to keep the youngsters attention. The routine is exactly the same every single week and has not differed from last year at all. After the preformance we saw this past weekend we will not be attending the studio next year and are in fact seeking a new place to call home.

Dancing is hard work and takes discipline, loyalty and a love of the art, if you wish to engage a pre-schooler you have to keep things interesting and in my opinion Dance works missed the mark.
