As a native of Carlisle, I don't know about tourists, but Sunnyside is a Carlisle fixture among restaurants. Locals and residents at the Carlisle War College consider Sunnyside part of the home landscape of the town. The restaurant, founded in 1948 by a Greek immigrant couple, is owned and managed by a second generation. Cuisine is mainly Greek with equally wonderful Italian and classic American fare. Dining is intimate in quiet, small rooms. Servers and chefs apply craft and concern about dinners and lunches. I disagree with a previous comment that the restaurant is part diner; there is one room that is actually a large rectangle, but otherwise, the restaurant is filled with small rooms and many intimate nooks that reflect the fine menu and long-lasting reputation of one of Carlisle's best restaurants.

This is a cross between an expensive diner, a tourist place and a nice restaurant. There are some Greek specialties, try the saganaki. No, they wouldn't set it flaming, but it was good. The crabstuffing was delicious in an appetizer. Different rooms have entirely different decor. We were in one that looked like an upscale diner. It was interesting.
