I am born and raised in Beechview (connected to Dormont), and have been going to Dormont Lanes forever... I have 3 children, 2 of which we have had several of their birthday parties at Dormont Lanes. We LOVE it, good prices, friendly staff, and always a great time :)

Although it has been 4 years since I have been to Dormont Lanes, I can honestly say that this place is one of my all-time favorite places. We used to go every Saturday night from 12a-4a with a case of beer and a fresh pack of cigarettes. (Not sure if they still allow smoking?) At that time, they charged $9 per person for all-you-can-bowl and $1 for shoes. They had the old wood lanes and a free juke box.

The diner next door was always busy, but open 24 hours, had great food, and sold beer.

If I ever make it back to PA, this will be one of the first places I stop. I only wish we had something like that here in TX.

This place is incredible. It is BYOB and they have a full size fridge to store your beverages so you dont need to bring a cooler. The prices are what you would have expected to see 10 years ago with games under $3. I bowl there in the winter league that starts the 1st week in January and spend at least one additional night a week there bowling & having a couple of cold ones. The owners & management are some of the nicest people you will meet. I can not say enough nice things about Dormont Lanes. The dude abides.

If you like nice, cheap, old fashioned bowling then this is the place. The lanes are old-style wood. There are no computers or TV screens; you keep your own score on paper. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place feels like a small-town lane, but it's located in the big city.

The normal price per game is $2.75.
Shoes are $2.75
I'm unsure about the "all night" bowling prices for Fri & Sat.

Their hours are:
Mo: 6p-12a
Tu: 5p-12a
We: 6p-12a
Th: 6p-12a
Fr: 6p-2a (cosmic is 10p-2a)
Sa: 9a-4a (cosmic is 12a-4a)
Su: 12p-10p

Leagues are:
Tu: 7p- 9:30ish
Th: 7p-9:30ish
Sa: 6p-12-ish

Specials are:
Monday: bring a friend; one bowler pays, other goes free(up to 3 games)
Tuesday: Seniors $1.20/game from 5p-8:30p & buy 3 games get a coupon for a free game on your next visit.
Wednesday: Mens Night - Half price for every game a guy bowls.
Thursday: Womens Night - Half price for every game a lady bowls.
Sunday: 3 games+shoes =$6.75 before 6p. $7.50 after 6p.

It is located in the Plaza that has the wine store and shoe store. The plaza is located right next to Tom's Diner. There is a parking lot, but it is a metered lot, so bring quarters. There is also the option of finding street parking in the area, though there isn't much of it and you'll most likely be taking someone's parking spot that lives in the area.

Phone number is 412-563-6449

Whenever I make the trek from Ontario Canada, to Pittsburgh to watch the Penguins, I hit up this place...
2 reasons why it kicks ass:
- BYOB
- Open till 4am!!
(Also because I am a bowling fanatic...)
A+

I first stumbled across Dormont Lanes when a friend lived in Dormont and we were looking for somewhere near by. Don't let it's exterior fool you. It is in a small shopping plaza that would be easy to miss, as are the stairs down to the basement that houses the alley. Descending the stairs is like a 70s timewarp. But it is all for the best. How many other bowling alleys are BYOB (as long as it isn't glass)?! If you didn't have time to plan ahead, don't worry. It is conveniently located next to a liquor store and Tom's diner which sells 40s and six packs to go. There is a free juke box by request. You just write down what numbered song you want and they enter it for you. Mondays are $2 and hour including shoes!I've hosted two parties there and the management has been very accommodating. Check it out!

This is a nice little bowling alley tucked away in Dormont. It may be a little tricky to find at first but worth the time to look. It is close to public transportation and also it is attatched to a metered parking lot. Next time you are in the mood to bowl a few frames check them out. They even offer bumper and cosmic bowling from time to time. A great place to take the family.
