We have used this kennel for more than 10 years (and we've tried several others) and it is by far the BEST. The animal interaction that is provided is great for our dog and he loves to go there. Although we miss our Riley when we go away, we never feel bad leaving him there. As stated in a prior review, sometime getting in touch with the kennel might not be immediate--- but it's worth it to keep trying, patience!!!

This is the BEST kennel my dogs have ever stayed. My two dogs along with my mom??s dog stayed there for 11 days in Jan 2010. I am not a fan of kennels and avoid them whenever possible, but now we have found a place that we can trust and my dogs will be frequent guests. Deborah and her staff are terrific and we cannot say enough good things about them. My one dog has special needs and they went above and beyond to take care of her. I am so grateful to have found such a great place with such great people. My two dogs and my mom??s dog stayed together in one of the executive suites. It was AWESOME and the dogs are cage free when they are in this room. You will not believe the extraordinary care your dog will get here

This is the BEST kennel my dogs have ever stayed. My two dogs along with my mom??s dog stayed there for 11 days in Jan 2010. Terrible service. I have called on three separate occasions just trying to get my dog into the place. I got a call back once from someone who couldn't even schedule an initial consult and I was told the owner would get back to me, she never did. I called again and the same thing, someone who couldn't help me called me back. Then I was told the owner would be out of town during the time that I wanted to board and she didn't know if it would be ok for my dog to with the kids. What kids! Either the owner doesn't exist or she is terrible at running a buisness!!

This is without a doubt the best kennel I have ever seen. Deborah is without a doubt not just housing pets there, but housing guests. Greetings and cheerful departures are always in the mix. The dogs are definitely vacating at the kennels and enjoying wonderful experience anfter wonderful experience, between play groups and interaction, they are loved by all their handlers. At Colonial Kennels I have never witnessed more care of any pet. They take pride in keeping your pet safe and make sure all pets are up to date on all their vacines.

My dogs absolutely love this kennel. We have never had a problem and love the people who work there. They know my dogs personally and always tell me how the interact with the other dogs. They have been doing a lot of updates to the kennel and always keep it clean. In the summer they have 2 kiddie pools out in the play yard for the dogs to romp in and keep cool. It is perfect and I highly recommend it. They also check the dogs personalities to make sure who they would get along with in the playtime.

I have been taking my dogs here since I moved back to the area in the summer of '96, right when Deborah was taking over the family business. I had a rough time finding a good rental house and unfortunately I had to find a place to house the dogs. I had them here round the clock for about 3 months and they had a good time. I regulary drop them off on vacation times.There is plenty of run space and they get to mingle with other breeds in the play groups, a lot of times they video this so you can watch the results upon pick up. They keep it clean and up to standards. They keep good records on pets so all are up to date on shots. I guess the only negative I have is that Wednesday is closed for drop off & pickups.

My dog loves Colonial Kennels, he has had so much fun there, I found that the staff is great and my dog loves the staff. I found it clean everytime I have ever walked through. The dogs go out in groups to play and they video them and share this with the owners at the end of the day. What a great gift this kennel and kennels that offer daycare is to the people who love their dogs.

This is one of the worst kennels I have ever visited. I always check out the grounds of a kennel prior to boarding my dog and when I walked around this facility what I saw was on the verge of scary. Runs were not properly maintained, with animal waist in them. Not all areas were properly heated (during a winter stay). I was very disappointed in this facility. I would highly recommend leaving your dog somewhere else.

I never experienced a kennel quite like Colonial Kennels. They specialize in Dog Play Groups. They provide socialization skills and interaction for your dog. Tours by appt, you should check it out if you would like your dog to have the opportunity to play with other dogs.

CONS: They keep regular hours and discourage late comers.
