Grooming Your Way is a Great choice for your cat, too! I have two long haired MaineCoon cats who tend to get knotted rather easily. The staff at GYW take good care of them, and my cats look fabulous when they leave. I highly recommend

Have been going there to get our Springer Spaniel groomed for a number of years now. He jumps out of the car and walks right in ... so I know that nothing bad has happened there. I am very pleased with the cut he receives. As a working person, I was happy to not pick him up until 5:00pm because I didn't have to leave work mid-day. I would definitely recommend.

I just picked my collie up from this groomer and any one who has a collie can tell you they are a high maintence dog. They did such a great job on my dog I have taken my lab and my cats to them in the past but they have always been low maintence animals and they did a great job. I was so worried about how they would do with my collie they treated him so sweet and were just so happy to see him and not the work involved it was refreshing for a change. And to top it off it didnt cost me a ton of money like some of the groomers on wheels. Great job guys keep it up. will come back real soon

Have taken my springer to GYW several times without issue. In fact, I find the grooming results to be one of the best if not the best for springers, and I've tried many others. They seem to try hard, and to get it right. The staff is well qualified and it's obvious they are all professional groomers, as opposed to some other places I've tried. I've nothing but positive things to say, but unfortunately as is the case with many of these types of feedback sites, those who have a negative experience are the ones who speak up. Hopefully I got the star rating correct. I want to be certain it's understood I give them 5 stars for being one of the best in the area.

Wow..what a huge disappointment. I am a customer of 2 years of Grooming Your Way. My most recent experience has left me with no choice but to never go back. My dog was dropped off at 8am and by 7pm, he was still not ready. I specifically made the appointment for this day because I needed him home by 2 or 3 as we had evening plans. The shop was fully aware of this and scheduled for this day so they could accomodate. My husband was treated rudely when politely inquiring "when" we might expect our dog to be done. He was told, "Did we call you?" repeatedly. When we went to pick the dog up, the price had increased $12 from 4 month ago! I have had many dogs over the years and never once have I seen a dog crated for 11+ hours. I have never seen a 25% price increase. I have never dealt with a cash only business and I have never been treated so rudely. The poor dog could barely make it outside to relieve himself. I won't even mention that his cut was not professional. I could live with that if the employees were professional and believed in customer service, communication and the quality of care given to the dogs.

I LOVE this place. My dog, Mikki is treated like a queen there. The always make Mikki look so pretty. They always accommodate us. We take her in in the morning and pick he up at 2:00. Mikki is really small and looks like a puppy but she isn't. I love Carole and all her help. They are grear people who love dogs!

Carol has been grooming my chow Candy for 14 yrs.when other groomers being scared of Chows would not touch her.As Candy is ill and in her last year of life she still looks forward to getting groomed and the compassion Carol gives her.I have always been happy with Carol and her staff!!

Excellent!.....My dog is terrified of baths, vets and anything with a cage since his rescue. He's never bitten but does fear snap in these situations. I recommened a mussel even though he is ordinarily very friendly outside this situation but they made him feel at home. He was wagging his tail and kissing them before the day was over. He looks like a pup again at the age of 4. Beautiful work. Would recommend them to anyone! They really listened to my input about him and his fears and how I wanted him groomed.

After I wrote the above review I read the reviews below. I'm sorry to hear that some people have had a bad experience. Hard to believe. One can only go on their own. I assure you if my experience changes, I'll be the first to tell you but for now - I am a happy camper. If needed I'll give you my contact info to verify my experience. I just sold a home in West Bradford and am staying with a friend in Exton. I feel I really lucked out finding GYW!

I never actually took my dog or cat to grooming your way but I used to work there and the reason I quit is because I didn't like the way Carol handled the animals and me being an animal owner I have 3 dogs and 4 cats I didn't like how rough she was with them and the fact that she would smoke cigarettes while she groomed the dogs while blowing smoke in their faces. Just thought some people would like to know what happened behind closed doors.

They had an attitude when I tried to pay with a credit card and had a mean disposition when I asked where the closest ATM machine was. If people want to complain about an experience they've had at any buisness they certainly have the right. However before you start throwing out "facts" about a buisness...make sure you have them right.
First off, several people keep saying this a cash only buisness...that statement is incorrect! GYW accepts cash or checks. It is a small buisness...accepting credit cards is another expense added to the buisness, people forget that little things like that add up. The owner of the buisness has to pay rent for that builing, pay her employees, buy supplies for bathing and grooming, which gets to be very expensive. If they don't accept credit cards who cares? Write a check, or go to the bank and get cash! I know several small buisness' that don't accept credit cards...but I don't think any less of them because of that.
Second, who the heck really cares that their files are kept on index cards? If they keep all of the information about your dog/cat on that or on a computer what's it matter as long as they have your information right? I've seen the cards they use, and they're specially made for keeping grooming records. I don't see how this makes it a shady buisness...they keep record of everything.
Third i've spoken with the owner, Carol and the employees there, i've taken the time to try getting to know them on personal levels, and they've done the same with me. A little kindness goes a long way. In doing so I have learned that the printer on their cash register is busted, that's why you don't automatically get a receipt. It was an expense the owner couldn't afford to fix, and opted to hand-write receipts for her clients if they want/need one. Just ask, and you will get it, it's not a big deal.
Fourth, why is everyone bashing the young lady with tattoos? WHO CARES! Having some tattoo's makes you a bad person with a bad attitude? If anyone took the time to talk to that girl on a personal level they'd find out she rescues dogs, and has a very large heart. Is a tattoo all anyone can complain about? Get over it.

I ran into Carol today and found her very upset because someone told her about the negative reviews. I am on here to defend her. How many of you with negative reviews have been to other groomers that take the time to make a handout with important information about grooming your puppies? or a handout about the shop in general, explaining the way it runs? How many other groomers out there walk the dogs while they're there? Or give them water, and comfortable theraputic beds for older animals? How many groomers out there are actually great at grooming? Someone in a review said it's not rocket science...well no it's not. Let me tell you though, it's not easy! I was unable to get my poodle to Carol for a few months because of my work schedule and tried clipping her at home myself. I can't tell you how frustrated I was because my own dog would not stand still for me! It's not easy trying to scissor a straight line on a moving animal, and it's not easy to make all four legs even! Grooming may not be rocket science, but it's not a job everyone can do. If it's so easy why don't you complainers groom your dogs yourself? Carol and the entire staff go to great lengths to make the animals there happy and comfortable. I think some of you unhappy clients need to take a step back and relook things over.

I'm fairly new to the area and a neighbor suggested that I take my Afghan, "Logan" to Grooming Your Way. I was impressed from the initial call when I made the appointment. The staff member who took my call was professional and polite. On Logan's grooming day we were greeted by a very friendly and caring groomer; I felt very comfortable leaving Logan there as I went about my day with no worries. I returned to pick Logan up and she was happily waiting, tail a waggin and looking beautiful. The groomer did a fantastic job on her!!!! I was aware that she was matted and she was way over due to be groomed. I had no problem with having to paying extra for her mats to be combed out and I took no offense to the groomer's suggestion on how to care for Logan between appointments. I felt she was telling me these things for the benefit of my pet and also to save me money in the long run. I fully appreciate and respect what she had to say. I am completely satisfied with all aspects of my experience with Grooming Your Way and I know Logan is, too. Grooming Your Way is DEFINITELY our new groomer. I own a lab, which requires minimum grooming, however I bring her to grooming your way because they do such a wonderful job on her. All she gets done is a bath, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaing. She smells wonderful when she is finished, her coats shines like new, her nails are cut as short as possible with out making her bleed, and her ears have always been cleaned! I really can't complain. The price is very reasonable, and the few times i've had to pay more because she was blowing her coat was totally worth it. She's happy to be there, and the staff is always happy to see her. When i'm in the shop all the dogs I see seem content and happy, and the ones i've seen leave that get haircuts look fabulous! Thanks Grooming Your Way, Sasha looks forward to seeing you all soon!

I just read the reviews and have to say I began using this groomer on the advice of a friend. I had a horrible experience with a groomer on "the Main Line" who had no problem accepting my credit card, but was significantly more expensive/less skilled. My Havanese looked horrible and hated going to the groomer. I would rather pay cash any day and know that my dog is groomed correctly. Staff are friendly and my dog is always ready when they say she will be. I could care less about their "filing system" as long as my dog is happy!

I have taken my two dogs to Grooming Your Way every other week for 8 years and have been extremely satisfied with the staff, their technique and how they treat my dogs. My boys are Maltese and a Coton de Tulear, both in full coat. No easy task for Carol and staff, to be sure! I do my best to keep them brushed out at home but even on those occasions when the mats get ahead of me, my dogs are returned in pristine condition. I know a bit about grooming, spending many hours on Grooming Yahoogroups, and appreciate the attention to detail and correct breed clip that the groomers demonstrate time after time.

Furthermore, as much as I appreciate a beautifully groomed dog, what really matters is the happiness and safety of my dogs when they are there and I can tell you that I've never had a moment's hesitation in that regard. My dogs are happy to go in and I know that if something happened to me while they were there, that Carol would care for them until someone could pick them up.

I have been a client here for the last 5 years and have been completely satisfied with their service! I have a small poodle that comes here and I can drop her off as late as 9:30 and she is done pretty much whenever I ask. I have found their service to be great and the staff to be very nice. All of them! I have had other groomers before; no one could groom my dog to my liking until I brought her here. There are times where she gets picked up later, my choice and it gives me a chance to get errands done. I wouldn??t take my dog anywhere else!

All of them! I have had other groomers before; no one could groom my dog to my liking until I brought her here. There are times where she gets picked up later, my choice and it gives me a chance to get errands done. I wouldn??t take my dog anywhere else!

I took my Maltese to Grooming Your Way for the entire 15 years we were blessed with him. They treated him with loving care and I always felt he was happy there. Grooming was excellent. We always found her prices fair and felt we got real value for our money. We always found him ready when promised and, when our daughter forgot to pick him up one afternoon they sat with him until she arrived.

We are now in the process of getting a new Maltese and we would not think of taking him anywhere else. We highly recommend the shop to all pet owners looking for personal grooming services. I feel the owner and staff are very professional and provide gentle, loving care for your dog!

First off, let me say that I have no vested interest in this business, nor I am I connected in any way to the owner, other than as a paying customer.

I have been taking my dog to Carol and staff at Grooming Your Way for over ten years. They have always been very professional, courteous and competent; pricing for services rendered has always been reasonable and consistent. More important, my dog has received excellent grooming and gentle care...she is always ready on time. I would not trust my dog with anyone else...they truly care.

My only response to some of these negative reviews is that I have seen some of the "Chester County Elite" (or at least they think that they are!) sashay into Grooming Your Way and want immediate service, demonstrate a lack of courteous behavior and act in a rude manner to the staff and to customers. Moreover, some of the complaints are a bit idiotic (Since when are 3X5 card files illegal....Why write denigrating comments about someone's tattoos?).

If you are not happy, "vote with your feet" as a consumer. Just be sure to first take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are truly being reasonable. Having successfully maintained my own business, I have come to realize that the customer is not always right.

As for me, I will continue to patronize this business and highly recommend it!

I brought our new puppy to Grooming Your Way and was pleased with what I saw. The place was clean, we were greeted nicely and it was explained how they groom young puppies. We were also given a handout on how to groom your puppy at home to help get him used to being groomed in the future. I was tild that they try not to keep young puppies very long and was happy when I get a call at around 1 o??clock to come get her. They seem very nice there and they are concerned with the welfare of the dog the most.

I arrived and found a very happy cleaned up nicely groomed puppy! We will be going back for regular groomings as they recommended in their handout. I really like this place and had a good feeling after I left. I felt they were very experienced in handling dogs and it showed. gx

Absolutely horrible staff, very rude and snotty to customers. They have no billing information for customers to see they just give quotes out of thin air and have heard of many people complaining the price was higher than originally quoted.
They keep track of their clients on 3x5 index cards, Of the few times I had been there I never received a receipt and when I asked for one I was given the run around, which seems very strange since they are a "cash only" place which makes it even more seedy.
The girl with the tattoo that looks like a train track running around her body was rude to me in front of the owner, where the owner did nothing. I guess the owner is used to it and has to deal with it or something. I went to Grooming your way a few times, they seemed ok, the only reason I went there because it was on my way to work thats how I found them.
They have no website, every time you call a different employee gives a different price on the same work on the same size dog, and have no printed pricing sheet for customers to have or see which seems a bit strange. They tell you the dog will be done at 1pm when they don't finish the dog till 4pm. I will never go there again and wish I hadn't had the bad experience of ever going but I will make sure to tell other pet owners of my bad experiences. Friends of mine laughed when I told them what happened with these people because they know people who went through the same situation.

I have been to Grooming your way a couple of times, their work was acceptable nothing worth receiving best in the world awards but average.

They do not accept credit cards, and their filing system is on 3x5 index cards, and have never been giving a receipt.

I brought my 16 year old dog in for an appointment in the morning where they said he would be done first due to his age since I expressed the day before on the phone making the appointment I was worried about the dog getting stressed out being away from home at his very old age, they said he would be worked on first and out first that day as well.

Dropped him off at 9:20 am and wasn't able to pick him up until 3pm, now I know it takes time and all for washing and drying the dog but that was not what they told me over the phone.
Then when I arrived to pick up my dog I was told the bill was $67.00 instead of the usual $42.00. The employee stated that the cost was higher because the dog couldn't stand on his own to be washed and needed another person to help. That story doesn't fly because once I got home I had him stand like he should for a grooming and he stood just fine, i feel they used the knowledge of my dogs age as a excuse to charge more. When I asked about the higher bill some young woman with a tattoo running around her body like a train tracks began to get snippy with me because I asked to see a billing sheet to explain their costs, which they had none to show me. They did not offer me a receipt or could furnish me one when I was leaving. The owner was 10 feet away while her employee was being extremely rude to me and did absolutely nothing to intervene on the issue.
People I know who have had bed experiences with Grooming Your Way just shook their heads and laughed a bit when I told them of my experiences because they said it was only time until I would be treated horribly.

I will be contacting the BBB about their customer service problems, and will be contacting the district attorney, I don't think its legal to not give out receipts to customers, or to keep business records on hand written 3x5 index cards

Don't gamble with your pet's happiness and well being, don't go to this groomer

There are many reasons why some dogs have to spend a lengthy time at a groomers, there are alot of factors to take into consideration when grooming a dog PROPERLY. Being a groomer, I deal with it all the time. If you were unhappy with how you were treated, you should of asked to speak to the owner and may of gotten things resolved. It is however extremely unfair of you to make a statement like you did regarding how these people would treat your dog!! We all do this because we love animals not because we want to hurt them. As for you not staying while they groom? Its because the dog gets to excited knowing you are there and its too difficult if not impossible to groom a dog while they are dancing all over the table.

I made an appointment to bring my Shih Tzu, Lucy, in to be groomed after talking to the receptionist on the phone who told me it would cost $40 or less depending on her size and to bring her in by 9am and that she would be done between 1-2pm. I brought her in and asked if I could pick her up at 4pm because I have a baby who naps in the early afternoon and then a child who gets off the bus at 3:30pm. The girl said that would be fine and that they would just walk her around in the grass until I got there. I got there at 4:15pm with my 3 small children only to see Lucy still in a crate not even groomed yet. I told a woman there that I was here for Lucy and she was so rude and told me that they had my phone numbers and would call when she was done. She said the receptionist never should have told me anything and that there was one more dog before Lucy. I then took my daughter to get her haircut and returned an hour later just to check and the same rude woman told me not to come back again until they called me. Lucy was still in the crate untouched. I should have taken her and walked out at that point but I really wanted her groomed and every other place was booked for weeks. I then took my 3 kids to a store until they called me at 7:10pm to say she was done. I then get there and she barely looks any different and they charge me $50.10. I was fuming! I didn't leave a tip which I've never done and will never go back there and will tell everyone I know how rude and horrible they are.

I am an animal lover through and through, I would never work at a place and I would never tolerate animals being mistreated right in front of me. If you want your dog to look great, this is the place to go. I will say that sometimes the dogs are there through out the day, longer than they should be sometimes, but they do get plenty of walks and water...they are not just locked up in a crate all day. everyone working there loves dogs. i know some of the owners don't like the way things run there, but try to be patient and understanding. If your dog has to be there one day out of thirty or sixty or 80, or even one day out of the whole year sometimes...please don't complain that they have to be there all day. it's just one day, they are well cared for, and they look great when they are done!

The groomer came out and started scolding my wife about the time between grooming appointments, lashed out at her about the length of our dogs hair, and when my wife started to apologize, the groomer shouted. "are you going to let me finish??".

My wife was dumbfounded. She wrote a check, and started to leave. The groomer then shouted after her, "I thought you wanted to make another appointment!". My wife replied that she just needed to leave and did so, dog in hand. By the way, the owner was in earshot of the entire conversation, and didn't once intervene. So much for caring about your customers.

If they treat their customers this way in the open, can you imagine how they treat your pet behind the scenes? Perhaps this is why they try to chase customers out of the shop during grooming hours...

We brought our dog here for a flea and tick treatment over the summer. We were impressed with the facility, it was a very nice and clean setup. The animals that were there seemed very comfortable and calm. We decided to give it a try. The bath worked great for our dog, and the price was reasonable at $35. The results were immediate after her treatment, she was no longer scratching and seemed relieved. We purchased the treatment they recommended along with some brushes from their grooming supplies. We are going to bring her back for another treatment in a month.
