I have used Hillmount Animal Hospital for the past 9 years and highly recommend them to everyone. I've been very pleased with the treatment my pets have received under the care of Drs. Bowers and Henry. He has been very honest about treatments, very reasonably priced and has come in after closing to treat our seriously ill pet. The staff are terrific, compassionate and always eager to help. I can't say enough good things!

We got a new french bulldog last fall and took him to Hillmount Animal Hospital at the suggestion of a friend. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences there, from the front desk staff to the veterinary staff (Dr. Bowers and Dr. Henry). Our puppy developed severe food allergies a couple of months after we got him, and Dr. Bowers was very helpful in figuring out what the root cause was as well as figuring out a solution to the problem. He laid all of our treatment options out for us, explaining everything thoroughly and patiently, and I trusted that he had my dog's best interest in mind. We have since taken him back for all of his annual shots, neutering surgery, and several boarding stays, and all have been great experiences. I would send any of my friends to Hillmount in a heartbeat.

I must echo the other reviews. Dr. Bowers failed miserably in diagnosing my dog's problems; did not explore causes; arrogantly stuck to a treatment which so obviously wasn't working (because his initial diagnosis was wrong. And when our lovely dog had lost 25% of his body weight and couldn't eat, Dr. Bowers insisted that IV intervention to provide nourishment was not necessary and did not provide that necessary treatment to help ease our dog's inability to eat normally. When we insisted on seeing a specialist, it was too late. Our dog's hypertension and kidney disease had gone undiagnosed too long and it simply was too late. Heroic measures tragically didn't save our beloved pet. Dr Bowers kept wanting to keep our dog for "observation," but wouldn't give him IV nutrients. No one would be there to help our dog during the 14 hours no one was in the office. We did not leave him overnight but did leave him a couple of days, thinking Dr. Bowers would do something to help him. In a nutshell, our dog just simply sat in a cage and was offered a bit of canned dogs food. We believe truly this endeavor was solely to jack up the bill. We spent hundreds of dollars for what turned out to be negligent non-care. And when the specialist finally had to euthanize our dog and we went to discuss what happened with Dr. Bowers, he expressed no concern that he might have missed a critical signal, would not meet our eyes during discussion and showed absolutely no compassion for our dog's untimely and miserable death. Stay away from here unless you want arrogance mixed with laziness and a total lack of heart!

my dog got lymes disease, supposedly as Ralph said, gave antibiotics, then a lymes vaccines shot, gave it to him every year.,
after 5 years of shot, a 6 year distemper/parvo. The idiot/ most likely his inept assistant gave him the wrong vaccine or else it was contaminated. My dog went into neurological shock within 3 days. Ralph later said he had lymes nephritis, bull on him. spent $8,000. to save his life at specialty hospital. had to have him put to sleep. Kidney necropsy showed chronic kidney disease due to over vaccinating of distemper /parvo / & especially the annual lymes vaccine. Leading research has shown if a dog ever gets lymes disease, vaccinating for lymes disease year after will eventually kill the kidneys. all test at specialty hospital showed NO lymes disease nor anything else, they blamed it on careless vet practicing..
Vets at specialty hospital were absolutely astonished at the over vaccinating of my dog. his vet practice of over vaccinating is a good financial gain, NOT science as it should be..
he will have to answer to a higher authority someday.

Took my Airedale Jasmine there and they took her outside and let her get away and she was ran onto Interstate 81.Dr. Bowers and staff lacked compassion and sympathy in this horrible tragedy that should have never happened in the first place.
I will never forget this and now go to a vet that as a fenced area and does show compassion.

Ii had taken my pets to Hillmount for years but in the end they left me down. our pet was at the clinic over the week-end for care and observation due to a serious illness.Sunday night the vet checked her and it was obvious that she wouldn't last the night.instead of calling us to come get her so that she could die at home he did nothing, and our baby died alone in a dark and unfamiliar place. i will never forgive him for that and have since found a new vet.
