Our daughter started at YCCA last summer at age four. It was her second experience with pre-school and although she liked her previous school she loooves YCCA. So do we. We have seen her become more confident socially, academically and musically. The teachers are warm, engaged and intelligent and the overall organization of the school is impressive. YCCA not only has a comprehensive learning program for the children but also creates a community of families through extra curricular events and activities. We look forward to our younger daughter also attending YCCA- so does she!
My 4 1/2 year old daugther has been at YCCA for 2 years now and I couldn't be happier with the program! The teachers are warm and loving and the overall atmosphere inside the school is cheerful! I am not sure there is another program in the area that has such an amazing outdoor space and affordable pricing. My daughter is being taught music theory, art and the important educational tools a preschooler needs to move onto kindergarten in a fun and exciting way! I am looking forward to sending my younger daughter there next year - I am confident she will love YCCA too!
My son is 4 years old and this is his first time he has attended school. The teachers are wonderful and helped him (& me) adjust to his 3 day a week schedule. My husband and I can see such a big change in him just after the first month. He now loves to sit and color and can focus on one task at a time. He loves his Yoga class that is every Wednesday morning and can't wait to get there on Thursday's for show & tell. We are so lucky to have such a great school right in our neighborhood.

Our daughter has been a member of the "YCCA family" since the Fall of 2008. I emphasize "family" since that is the way the teachers make everyone feel when it comes to the little ones. My daughter's transition from being with mom 24/7 did take some time at first but now she thrives. I feel great knowing that the program at this pre-school focuses on the creative arts with music therapy, artistic expression and stresses involvement with nature as they allow for outdoor time each day on their historic campus.
Our 2.5 yr old daughter goes to YCCA. She started part time in the summer camp which was a great transition into daycare from being at home with mom. Now she attends 2 full days and one afternoon - she always comes home excited, with a piece of artwork every day, and a new song. The teachers are conscientious, loving and informative and there is not another dayschool with an outdoor area as green and spacious and well-protected.
We love the YCCA. My daughter, who is three, has been attending preschool there for four months or so and we find that the atmosphere at the school is great. The teachers are all extremely talented, engaged, and caring. They foster an environment where everyone can learn well -- not just academic stuff, but tolerance for diversity of all sorts. The school emphasizes arts and music and sensory experience, which my daughter loves and which have allowed her to thrive. They also have some spiffy new equipment/teaching tools (dress-up and dramatic play stuff; montessori materials; trikes and ride-ons) and a newly renovated building. The teachers do not tolerate bullying and cliquishness (yes, preschoolers can engage in such things, but not at the YCCA). All in all, it's a great little school with wonderful teachers and nice kids and we are thrilled to have our oldest there and can't wait for our little one to start there, too.
