Our experience with Young's tile was wonderful. Miles has been doing our tile work in Sewickley for many years. We have recommended him many times.

Hired a tile installer based on the recommendation of one of their designers. Young's Tile, owned by Miles Young, was one of the worst experiences ever dealing with a contractor. Accent on Tile did everything I would expect them to to

I went to one of the DIY big stores several times and pretty much had my tile & accessory purchases ready. Then I heard about Accent on Tile from a co-worker. I decided to check them out to prove that their selection would be basically the only difference between them and the big stores.
I was dead wrong.
I was greeted by Dan who asked me several questions such as lighting, furniture, traffic, etc. Lighting??? I never considered these things because no one ever asked.
Dan knew that this was relatively an extremely small job. Regardless, he took his time and showed me several options and kept narrowing down the selections based on my feedback. He never once tried to hurry me or sway me into considering any exotic materials. I took home some samples (including grout samples) and made up my mind. Marcie and Natalie helped as well. They even helped me load the tile into my truck!
Even the suggested installer was spectacular. I remain shocked after 6 months on how perfect everything went from start to finish and how wonderful everything looks.
I almost made a big mistake by going the cheap way. The price was right, the quality was perfect and I couldn't be happier. I will be back.

At Accent on Tile you can walk in with a general idea of what you want to do and come out with a great plan. I have used them for two bathrooms and a kitchen. I love when they say, "That's a great idea, but we can do it much cheaper if you try this." The two decorators are top notch and at the same time down to earth. Great shop Marcie!

On my first visit to Accent on Tile (weekday/noon-ish), there was one person working the floor. She was busy with another customer, but looked directly at me several times during my 15-20 wait without even acknowledging my presence or indicating she would be with me shortly. I was patient and polite, however, until another sales person arrived (Dan) who was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Towards the end of my discussions with Dan, the other lady approached us and literally just stood there looking at me while I was talking, as if she was waiting on me to hurry up and finish my business so she could talk to him. Needless to say, she came off as rude, but I had hoped my impression was wrong.

On my second visit (weekday/noon-ish), the same lady from before was there to assist to us after a 10 minute wait. To put it mildly, she seemed very disinterested in helping us. She simply had an unpleasant personality. We weren't spending very much...only about $125 for some deco pieces, but I don't think that's an excuse.
She tried calling the tile company to place our order, but they didn't answer. We were worried about the timing of receiving the tile, but she assured us she would try to call again and call us that day to let us know. She didn't call. When I tried to call the next day to find out if the order had been placed or not, the person who answered the phone was not helpful. After some mild pressure was applied, she said she would find out if the order was placed and call me back. She didn't call either!! Finally I called myself and found out the order had been placed - I still don't understand why I never received a phone call.

In summary, they have great pieces, LOTS of variety (more than I've seen elsewhere in Pgh), but I was NOT IMPRESSED with their customer service at all. I would look else where before giving them your business.

Pros: Good quality, variety and nice looking pieces to choose from

Cons: Bad customer service, showroom is in disarray
