Recently my car's check engine light came on so I schedule an appointment with Hallman Chevrolet to have it looked at. After running a diagnostic and obtaining the error code they could not find the problem. They then simply cleared the error code, charged me 80 dollars and some change and sent me out the door. A week later the light came back on so I knew something was up. I checked the paperwork and found the error code they worked from. I looked it up myself and found that it was due to too much gas in my oil. I did a simple test to confirm this (took the dipstick out of the oil and smelled it) and it reeked of gas. I then took the car to a service station I trust in Pittsburgh and told them what was going on. They said they'd waive the diagnostic fee and check out the fuel pump. It turns out the fuel pump was leaking internally and needed replaced.

I called Chevy's customer service to try and get refund from Hallman's, My reasoning is that if they had done a simple test like I did they would have discovered the problem. Instead, they kept the car for a hour, ran a smoke test and gave it back. If they had found the fuel pump problem, the fee would have been included in the repair.

Hallman repeatedly said that there is no way they would refund the money because it wasn't their fault they couldn't figure out was wrong. Chevy's corporate office also would not assist with getting any type of refund.

Sorry but if their service department is that incompentent, I won't be taking my car back there ever again and I suggest you don't either.

We bought our Chevy from Dave Hallman's and were pleased with the service and terms of the loan that we were able to get through GMAC financing. In addition, we have used their service department for our car. It was always fast and their oil changes were comparable with chain oil and lube places. They have even taken my wife to work and returned for her to pick up her car!

When i had a problem with a car that i bought at this place, it was never a problem to have it repaired or adjusted. when my car was stolen, they did an absolutely great job at repairing the giant mess that i got my car back in.

This is the place where we have pruchased our last 3 four by fours. The first was an older model and we had it for 3 years. This last one is one of there Smart Cars. They are cars that are used for a year when people need a loaner because their car is being worked on.

Once again we received a great deal on this one and it still has a lot of the factory warrenty left.

The sales people here are not pushy, they try very hard to find out exactly what the customer wants and how much they can afford. Then they try to match you with the car you want.

They do finanacing on the spot for you so you know almost immediately if you are going to be able to buy the car. This is the third time that we have driven off the lot the same day with the exact car that we wanted.

PROS: Sales persons are not pushy
